What It Is To Burn

Decking Those Halls Sure Can Be Fun

The house had grown quiet and peaceful two days after Thanksgiving when Kit finally left them to go back down to Florida. Andy and Dess were enjoying the silence, but Dess knew that it was only a matter of time before things would get loud and crazy once again. The work on their garage/studio had continued, but thankfully it was almost done. Dess had planned on painting some of the bedrooms upstairs and Andy was not looking forward to having to put together three beds, three dressers and various other things that Dess was buying to place into their three guest rooms. This was all to be done before the Holidays, actually it all needed to be done before the 20th of December because then the couple would be in LA for the Legion of the Black Premier.

“A little more to the left…”Dess grunted at Andy’s directions and tried to do as he said.

“It’s not going to go in any farther babe!” Dess groaned again-it felt like her legs were going to fall off from being in the same position for ten minutes.

“We’ll make it fit! Hold on!” Andy shouted as he tried to reposition himself, moving everything forward and Dess just grunted again.

“I give up! It’s fine where it is!” She laughed as Dess dropped her end of the tree box and moved to the side to look over at Andy.

“Ugh-yeah…this is getting really tiring.” He wiped a hand across his forehead and smirked over at Dess.

They had gone out first thing that morning to buy their very first Christmas tree together and Andy felt gleeful and happy at the thought. Usually Dess had always gotten a live tree, but because both of them would either be really busy or not be home at all for most of the month, it seemed more practical to get something that wouldn’t die. Dess moved to one end of the box, peeling away at the tape that held the end flap shut while Andy worked on the other side. After half an hour and one argument over directions and placement- Dess and Andy had their very first tree assembled and in one corner of the livingroom. Dess smiled gently as she looked at the softly lit tree in the corner, remembering all of the past Christmases and how much she loved this time of year.

“Break time!” Andy laughed from beside her, wrapping his arms around Dess’ waist as he sunk down onto the couch and brought her with him.

“But I want to decorate…” She pouted up at him, her bottom lip sticking out and Andy couldn’t resist that face.

“How about I take a break and watch you decorate…” He suggested, his eyebrows raising as Dess only laughed and moved to get up from the couch. She went to the iPod dock in the corner and soon Christmas music was blaring out from the speakers.

“Isn’t it a little early for all of this babe? It’s not even December yet…” Andy said as he watched Dess begin to dig through boxes of decorations that they had purchased. All of her old decorations had gone with her mother, something that had frustrated Dess at first.

“Well my family always decorated right after Thanksgiving and neither one of us is going to have much time in the upcoming month…” Dess reasoned as she began to untangle some deep purple beaded garland and smiled over at him.

“You’re still gonna be my date to the Premier right?” He asked as Andy rose and picked up the other strand of garland and began to drape it over the limbs of the tree.

“No. No I was gonna be Purdy’s date…” Dess looked over at him, her eyes teasing as Andy just huffed and continued to string his garland.

“Very funny. Where do you want me to start?” He asked, picking up a box of bulbs and holding them up for Dess to look at.

“Doesn’t matter…just as long as they’re evenly dispersed.” She laughed as he rolled his eyes and Andy began to hang things.

It took them two hours to decorate the tree, mostly because Dess kept rehanging things when Andy hadn’t put them where she thought they needed to go. Finally giving in, Andy had relegated himself to setting up other decorations around the house and soon things were starting to look beautifully festive. Their tree was themed in a deep purple, gold and black motif, something that Andy had had a big say in. Dess liked the way it looked-it fit the both of them and really seemed to be a symbol of their upcoming union. Dess laughed as a song came over her iPod and she slowly sauntered over to Andy, singing in his ear seductively.

“Santa baby, a '54 convertible, too, light blue. Well I'll wait up for you, dear, Santa baby. So hurry down the chimney tonight, yeah…” She ran her hands up and down his chest slowly, her lips grazing over the skin of Andy’s neck as Dess stood behind him and continued to sing in a low voice.

“Yeah?” He raised an eyebrow as Andy spun around and grabbed a hold of Dess. He dipped her lowly, his lips pressed against hers as she giggled against his mouth.

“Mmm…I love the holidays…” Dess purred as Andy moved them so that they were standing up straight but his arms were still wrapped around her and he could feel her hands rubbing at his back as she stared up at him.

“Do you now?” He asked and Dess only nodded as she placed her hands on either side of his face and moved into to kiss his lips gently. Dess smirked against him, biting down on Andy’s lip ring which caused him to moan into her mouth loudly.

The two of them stood there, their lips molded together as the soft lights from the tree danced across the walls. Andy gripped on to Dess tightly, pulling her to him as he explored her mouth, her cheeks and her neck. She smirked against his skin as he came back up and groaned loudly as Dess nibbled on his ear lobe, her teeth sending shivers down his spine. Andy moved his hands so that they rested right on her hips and soon enough his fingers were tugging her shirt up and Dess broke away from him long enough to allow Andy to remove the offending piece of clothing. Her fingers, nimble and quick, unbuttoned his jeans and soon Andy was pantless and shivering slightly.
His hands reached out, cupping her gently as his fingers pinched and squeezed and all Dess could do was moan against his skin.

Andy trailed his kisses lower and smirked against her skin as he watched Dess throw her head back, a soft smile playing on her lips. Soon Andy had unclasped her bra and Dess smiled as she pulled his shirt up over his head and they were both suddenly only clad in their underwear. Andy stood back, taking in the sight before him before he moved towards Dess again, his hands trailing down her stomach until his fingers slipped beneath the waistband of her Mickey Mouse boy shorts. She moaned against his mouth as his fingers explored her and Andy smirked as he felt her hips moving against him slowly.

“Mmm…my turn…” She mumbled into his mouth and Andy moved his hands back North as Dess sank to her knees.

Andy felt the top of his briefs slide down his hips and soon Dess held him in her hands, but her eyes still looked up at him seductively. Her hair was in her face as she moved her lips against him and Andy tried in vain to keep his eyes open and trained on her but he was struggling against his own passion. Feeling his own pressure build, Andy moved his hands to the sides of her face and soon Dess was back up, her head tilted towards his as Andy kissed her deeply. Moving slowly with one hand on her back and the other held out, Andy sank them both down to the floor, their heads coming to rest right underneath the tree and he smiled as the lights twinkled in her eyes.

Moving slow, Andy pushed her underwear down her legs and moved to get ontop of Dess, his hands supporting him as he felt her wrap her arms around his neck. He thrust into her gently, but by the look in her eyes Andy knew that gentle was not something that Dess needed right now. His pace quickened, his head going back as Dess moved against him and they met in an easy pattern. Andy looked down, his blue eyes shining with love as Dess smirked up at him before Andy moved his lips to cover hers. He bit down on her lip as they moved together and suddenly he felt her shudder against him, her mouth openly slightly and Andy gripped on to her tighter. He kept going, but soon Andy felt his own emotions getting the best of him and with one final thrust he stiffen against her, his sweat mingling with hers as they both collapsed.

“I love you…” She kissed his lips softly as Andy just smirked against her mouth before moving to lay next to her. Both of them were on their backs, their chests heaving heavily as they both stared up into the depths of their first Christmas tree.

“I love you more…” His voice was low, his breathing taking over as Andy continued to stare up into the tree.

“You know…it was almost in this same spot that we made love for the first time…must be something about Christmas trees and this living room.” She giggled as Andy looked over at her wide eyed and all Dess could do was smirk and nod her head over towards the fire place.

“Nope…it’s just you.” Andy smiled over at her, his lips coming down to rest against the skin of her shoulder as he placed a soft kiss there and moved to lay on his back once again.

“Beautiful isn’t it?” Dess asked and Andy could only nod as the two of them laid there and looked up. The lights shimmered off of the bulbs as they swayed on the branches and suddenly Dess felt sad. Tears pricked her eyes until they overflowed and began to gently trail down her cheeks.

“Babe? What’s wrong?” Andy asked, his attention resting on Dess as she lifted a hand to her face and wiped at her cheeks gently.

“Nothing…” Her voice was weak and tear laced.

“We just made love and you’re crying and I know those aren’t happy tears.” He reached over and soon Dess found her head resting against Andy’s chest, her ear right over his heart.

“Moira and I used to lay under the tree, when we were kids, and we would make our Christmas Lists together as we looked up at all of the lights…” Her tears were harder now, her chest heaving as Dess hiccupped loudly and tried to suppress a watery smile.

“Aww babe.” Andy knew that Dess still mourned the loss of her sister-even he missed Moira every day, but things had seemed to be getting better after this past October. Maybe it was them being in the house that was bringing all of these memories back?

“I’ll be okay…”Dess whispered and all Andy could do was nod his head and cuddle her closer. Hopefully one day Dess would be okay…hopefully they both would be okay.

Notes

Well well...seems like decking the halls gets these two in the mood ; )
Did no one like that last chapter? *pouts*...no reviews makes for a sad bunny.
This story is a lot more fluffier than We Caught Fire guys...so if it gets boring I'm sorry but I can't kill off anymore people-at least not right now *winkwink*

Please read and review and love me...I still have the sniffles : (

@Broken Wing
Here's my problem, though. As I am starting the final series, I won't be able to go to my regular computer because it's broken, and I can't view certain chapters on my iPad. So now my mom knows why I'm suddenly in a bitchy mood. :/
