When Darkness Is All You See
I'll Never Let You Fall
-----TIME LAPS (1 WEEK TIL WEDDING) MEAGHAN'S POV-----
Grrrrrr, we had to put off my wedding. There is one good thing, though. My family was coming to Hollywood today. Even my mother! I couldn't sleep at all last night. My mother and I rarely got along when I lived with her so you can understand my nervous feelings.
My brace is off and my facial scar healed nicely. It just looks like I have a weird C on my face. CC says its a sign that I'm his little sister. Andy says it's a reminder to always smile. Ashley tells me it's a constant reminder of my beauty, even with a scar.
"Bunny, come on!" Ash whines. "We gotta read the fan mail and then we have to pick up your family." Ash chuckles before kissing my neck. I nod getting up out of bed carefully. We make our way to the living room. I just wanna say Ash's big house is really nice. And his bed? God, it's like sleeping on a cloud!
The guys and Kaitlyn have already organized the mail into separate piles. They were all eagerly waiting to open them. CC is even bouncing on the couch with eagerness. Who in their right mind gave him a Monster? Aside from Kaitlyn and I, Andy has the next biggest pile.
"Finally!" CC shouts and I wince, plugging my ears. He is really loud, he's twice as loud with a Monster! I sit on the couch, next to Ashley, and everyone stares while I open a small envelope.
"You have to read it out loud since its your first fan mail." Andy smiles at me. "Don't worry, all the letters we recieve are really sweet and heart felt."
So, listening to Andy, I read: "So fuck the dear part, how are you Meaghan? I'm not sure if you remember me or not. I'm Makayla O'Brian. We went to high school together and shared a lunch table until Robby committed suicide. Well, I have to admit something Robby isn't dead. He misses you and loves you. I was told to add that. Just sharing the love.

Huh? Well, I didn't expect that. I picked up another letter that was wondering if I was feeling better. I wish I could reply, but I didn't want to give any fangirls Ashley's address. We continue reading and opening letters and packages until Ashley's phone rings.
"Hello?" he says excitedly. "Yupp, thanks."
He takes my hand and I look at him curiously. We head out to the car and then to the airport. When we arrive, Ashley quickly parks and pulls me to the doors. We are standing there for barely five minutes when someone screams my name.
I see my little sister, Mattie, running toward me. She hugs me tightly. Next is my younger brother, Duncan, and finally my only slightly younger sister, Sadie. Judging by their appearance, you can tell my dad raised them. Dad always let us express ourselves however we felt comfortable.
Duncan has his ears gauged and a blood red Mohawk, Mattie's hair is to her waist and black with hot pink highlights, and Sadie's hair is a dark blue that fades to white at the tips and has snakebites. Trailing behind them are my mother, my dad, and some freaking tall guy with long black hair.
Mother looks the same as always. Dyed dark brown hair and those creepy blue and brown eyes of hers. Dad has a headful of silver curls and crows feet from smiling. Seeing my dad sent a bit of relief to my heart. However, seeing my mom made my stomach churn.
I turned eighteen in May so I had seen mother this last year. I hadn't seen my father in three years. It was great to see him again! The guy walks up and intertwine his fingers with Sadie.
"Meag," she explains, "I'd like you to meet my boyfriend. Shadow, this is my sister."
She tilts her head and I see a spiderweb tattoo on he neck. Yup, she's a daddy's girl. I'm proud that she didn't let anybody stop her from expressing herself.
"Sadie, you didn't tell me your sister was THE Meaghan Wright." Shadow says and I see a glimpse of one red eye.
"How do you know me?" I ask.
"You're engaged to Ashley Fucking Purdy!" he laughs.
"I didn't know you liked the band?"
"I love Black Veil Brides!"
"Nice to meet a fan," Andy and Ashley chuckle.
I smile, happy that there are some "outcasts" in my life. I thought I'd be alone. However, as I felt happy, I saw my mom glaring at my tattoos. She also gave Ashley a dirty stare. What was her problem? I was happy, wasn't that enough?
I hug dad and we all head to the cars. Mom, dad, Sadie and Shadow pile into the back of Ashley's car. Duncan and Maddie climb into Andy's car, along with Kaitlyn, and we all head back to Ashley's.
When we arrive, we give everyone a tour. We show everyone their rooms and give them a minute to get settled. I walk to the kitchen, grabbing myself a glass of water. I feel really uneasy. Suddenly, I feel muscular arms wrap around my waist and a pair of soft lips on my neck.
"Hey, Bunny," Ashley coos.
"Hi, OUTLAW," I giggle.
"Are you feeling okay?"
"Yeah," I say facing him. "Just a little nervous about my mom and I being in the same house. We didn't really get along before I turned 18 and moved out."
"Hey, it's going to be okay. I'm right here. I'll never let you fall."
Suddenly, there's warmth on my lips. Ashley's lips molded themselves to mine and kissed me passionately. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed my lips harder against his. I heard a low moan and I was lifted on the counter. I felt a hand run up and down my back, soothing me. Ashley's tongue was tracing my bottom lip, but I didn't give him access. Sadly, I parted from Ashley's perfect lips.
"Babe, my family is here," I giggled.
"Right," he said breathlessly, "forgot."
"I just need a break from planning and everything..." I trailed off.
"Well," he says as he takes me off the counter, "after the bon fire tonight, we can go to sleep and tomorrow you are going to the spa with Kaitlyn."
"Really?"
"You need a break, Andy Jinxx and I will give your family a tour of Hollywood."
"Thank you, Ashley!" I squealed hugging him tightly.
I release him and look up into his almond shaped chocolate brown eyes. He flicks his long black hair out of his face and leans down to kiss me. His lips are very gentle, probably because my dad is in his house. I pull away and smile at him.
"I love you, Meaghan."
"I love you too, Ashley."
-----TIME LAPS (BON FIRE)-----
"Dude, give me my smore!" CC shouts at Jake.
"You stole my pizza!" he shouts back. "It's only fair!"
"No!"
"Jake!" mama Jinxx shouts, "Give CC his smore!"
"Fine..." Jake groans, handing CC the smore.
"YAY!" CC shouts.
He jams the whole thing in his mouth, causing us all to laugh. I swear, Jake and CC are the dumpsters of the group. They literally eat anything!
Kaitlyn comes back outside, wearing a big sweater and some jeans. She sits in Andy's lap and he feeds her a smore. They make an adorable pair. I'm so happy that Kaitlyn and I built a sisterly bond!
Suddenly, I see darkness. A pair of hands have covered my eyes, making me momentarily blind. I hear Ashley say "Guess who?" and, being a smart alec, I say "Michael Jackson?"
"Cute," Ashley laughs, letting me see again. "But not as cute as you," he says as he pulls me into his lap.
"You just missed the big chase!" I giggle.
"What chase?"
"Jake stole CC's smore and..."
"Oh, they do it all the time. It's still freaking hilarious though."
I finish making a smore and feed it to Ashley. He greedily eats it and he even bit my thumb. I whine, dropping the smore, and Ashley laughs. He gently kisses my thumb then, when I least expect it, he kisses my lips. Right in front of everyone.
I hear the group "awe" and I giggle into the kiss. I pull away and Ashley wraps his arms around my waist. Hearing my mother scoff I leaned in for another kiss. Who cares if I kiss him? He's my fiancé for crying out loud! Ashley cups the side of my face and leans into the kiss. A soft moan escapes my lips before I can stop it. I hear the guys whistling and I break the kiss, blushing.
I lean my head on his shoulder and soon I'm asleep. I feel myself being lifted and I know Ashley is carrying me. I nuzzle my face into his leather jacket and hear him chuckle. I felt so happy and proud when I was with him.
I feel the warmth of his bed and sigh in comfort. My shoes were removed, along with my jacket and pants. I feel Ashley put his boxers on me, cover me up, then crawl into bed with me. His arm snakes under me and I roll over, nuzzling my face in his chest. I soon drift off into a good night's sleep.
