Lily woke up feeling like a new person. She cracked her eyes open, wincing as the bright sun light flooded into their room through their grey and black curtains. Andy was still passed out next to her, his head face down in the pillow and his hair was wild and sticking up at odd angles. Lily only kissed his shoulder as she moved to get up, pulling her shorts on as she yawned widely and reached for her phone.

9:20-good, she still had plenty of time to hang out before she had to start getting ready for the Halloween party they were all going to later that night. Lily skipped to the bathroom-happy that not only was it her favorite holiday today, but also the fact that she and Andy had finally gotten their chance to love one another fully. Lily entered the bathroom, running a brush through her wild looking blonde hair and as she quickly did other business she noticed that she had gotten a text from Sammi.


SammiDoll: Have you seen Kate? She was supposed to open the store this morning but when I got here everything was still shut off.
Lilykins: No, but I can go check her apartment and see if maybe she over slept.
SammiDoll: K-let me know what’s going on when you find her…I’m worried because this isn’t like her.

Lily looked at her phone one last time before she set it on the coffee table on her way out the front door. Their manager, Kate, lived in the same building as Lily, Andy and Jake and so she knew that it would be easy to figure out where Kate was. Her manager was awesome, but the older girl had a tendency to over sleep, especially when she had to be up early to open the store. Lily glanced out the front window, smirking as she noticed that it was a gorgeous day and then as she opened the door a scream stayed frozen in her throat.

There, at her bare feet, was the severed head of her manager Kate. Her brown eyes were looking up at Lily, dull and lifeless while her blood oozed out of her severed neck and covered the nearby white azaleas. Lily clapped a hand over her mouth and then she screamed as she felt a hand rest on her shoulder. Someone had her and as Lily was spun around she felt a small relief rest in the pit of her stomach as Andy’s eyes first looked into hers before glancing down.


“Get inside and lock the bathroom door.” Andy said as he moved past her and reached down to grab Kate by her hair. Lily turned and as she faced the door, she whimpered and just looked at the words that were written on the white door in Kate’s blood.

‘She was the first. Give us the girl or your War begins at sundown.’

“Lily! Get. Inside. I’ll take care of it…” Andy said, his voice gruff at first but his eyes softened as he looked at her and saw the terrified look on her delicate face.


He watched as Lily did as he told her and soon enough Andy had disposed of the head that had been sitting on their doormat like a twisted piece of mail. He grabbed the hose that sat nearby and quickly sprayed off the porch and their front door. There was nothing to be done with the flowers and Andy felt himself breaking out into a sweat as he reached down and began to yank at the destroyed blooms. He looked left-saw nothing. He looked right-nothing there either.

Andy only hoped that Kate’s body was somewhere other than her apartment and he wondered if he should call the police. No-they wouldn’t be able to do anything and Andy knew that he and the guys would have to take care of this themselves. Andy checked the street once more and then he turned to quickly get inside of the house. The bolt was locked behind him as the door shut and Andy then walked quickly towards the bathroom, knocking against the wood softly.


“Lily. Lily open the door it’s Andy.” He said, his voice low and Andy ran a hand through his long tresses as he heard someone shuffling around behind the door. His heart dropped-she wouldn’t…she couldn’t be doing what he feared she was…

“Why should I believe you?!” She called back from the other side of the door and Andy only rolled his eyes as he knocked on the door harder.

“Lil’! Come on…I love you please open the door! I swear it’s really me…” Andy said, his voice sad as he looked at the white wooden barrier in front of him. Was Lily that traumatized from everything they’d been through that she didn’t even trust him?

“Any Demon would say that!” She called out to him and Andy only groaned as he thought back over something that only he would know. He smirked as he thought of their night together last night and then he laughed lowly.

“Okay well only I know that you have a small star shaped birthmark on your inner right thigh. Now open the damn door!” He laughed as the door burst open and Lily threw herself at him. Andy held her tightly, rubbing her back as she sniffled against his shoulder.

“I-I…What’s going to happen? Is it…is this it?” She asked lowly as she pulled away from him but Andy still held on to her tightly. Her eyes were tear filled and he could tell that she had already been crying. He bit down on his lip as Andy locked his blue eyes on her sad lavender ones.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I do know that you need to go call Sammi and Ella and tell them that they need to disappear and quickly. Close down the shops if they have to…they can’t be in the city when this goes down.” Andy said as he grabbed his own phone and looked down at the screen. Who should he call first?

“Where are they supposed to go?” Lily asked him as she reached down to the coffee table and picked up her small phone. Her fingers were shaking so badly that she could hardly work the up and down arrows.

“It doesn’t matter. They just can’t be here when things go down or else they could be taken and held as hostage to make us surrender…” Andy said as he held the phone up to his ear and listened to the dial tone.


The two of them spoke quietly into their separate phones and Lily felt her heart break as she listened to Sammi sobbing over the phone. The girl didn’t want to leave-she didn’t want to leave Jinxx or Lily in LA and Sammi begged Lily to come with her and Ella. Lily only smiled as she told Sammi that no, she couldn’t go with them because her place was here with Andy and the guys and she promised to see Ella the next day. Maybe they could get their nails done or something?

Both girls laughed as they hung up and Lily collapsed on to the couch. Andy was still on the phone and Lily’s ears perked up as she heard her name being spoken. Andy was talking to Ashley, explaining everything that had happened and he was hoping that Ash would have some sort of idea as to what they should do. Andy smirked as the bassist made a suggestion and Andy only nodded as he agreed. Soon Andy was off of the phone and looking at Lily with a worried look on his face.


“Are the girls leaving?” He asked as he walked over towards her and soon he had flopped down onto the couch beside her. Lily grabbed for his hand, her ringed fingers rubbing against his skin as she looked at him with those wide lavender eyes of hers.

“Yeah-Sam begged me to go with them…” Lily laughed, but her laughter died as she noticed that Andy seemed to perk up at the idea.

“Go! I mean it Lil’! Call Sammi up and have her come by on their way out and pick you up…” He smiled at her and Lily only huffed out a breath as she stood and brought her hands to rest on the back of her head. Her shirt was pulled up slightly and Andy felt himself shiver as he caught site of her bare stomach.

“Andy-I’m staying here…this is where I belong.” She said, cocking her head to one side as Lily made eye contact with him. Andy sighed, running a hand through his long black hair as he looked around their apartment. They had a nice little life going on, but did he want to risk everything he had for some stupid war?

“I-I know, but what if you get hurt? This isn’t just a few Demons Lily…there could be thousands of them.” He said, his voice sad as Andy rose to his feet and looked down at Lily. She said nothing as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips against his. He looked into her eyes-those eyes that had changed everything for him-and he knew that he couldn’t do this without her.

“I know and I’ve thought about all of that. But whether there are hundreds or thousands of Demons fighting us-they won’t stop us. Never give in…never back down.” She smirked at him as Andy only shook his head and kept his arm wrapped around her shoulders. They both walked towards the back of the apartment to get ready for the battle of their lives.



Andy sat on the couch, his knee bouncing up and down and he couldn’t keep his head still as he looked around him. Ashley was standing over by the kitchen doorway, a beer in his hand and Andy couldn’t help but smirk-Ashley was wearing head to toe leather, but that was what they all were wearing. Andy looked next to him, seeing Jinxx also wearing leather and talking to Sammi quietly on the phone. Jake and CC were both in the kitchen, sharpening knives and daggers and Andy couldn’t help but laugh softly to himself.

They were a strange band of misfits that had been brought together randomly, but in the end it was all working out for the best. They all were now just waiting on Lily, who was still getting ready and Andy huffed as he looked out the window. The sun was finally falling from the sky and he only hoped things would get started soon.

Ashley had found out through some of his contacts that the Demons were planning on attacking them at the party they were attending, but thankfully Ashley had been able to arrange for a more private meeting. The warehouse where Lily had been held would serve as their battle ground and Ash had assured Andy that they wouldn’t be interrupted. Andy bit down on his lip ring as he thought of the other piece of news that Ashley had informed him of-the Black Veil Brides Army were coming to them…some of them traveling all day to get to LA in time for the big show down.

What were these kids thinking? Did they think this was some kind of impromptu show? Andy was shaking as he looked around and noticed that all of them were dressed as if they were going to a show. Andy had applied his normal stage makeup and his arms were covered in pitch black marks. Suddenly there was a low whistle and as Andy looked up he felt his jaw drop.

Lily was standing in the open hallway, looking out over all of them and Andy felt his heart beat quicken as he took her in. Her lavender eyes were smokey looking with all of the black makeup she was wearing-her lips were cherry red and held a smirk on them that he had never seen before. Her hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail that was falling down her back, but she had fluffed her bangs into a small poof that sat on top of her head.

She wore a leather jacket that was tight across her shoulders, a white Black Veil Brides shirt underneath and her legs were clad in tight leather pants that hugged every curve of her body. She was tapping one steel toed boot at him and Andy only smiled as he looked up and noticed that her arms were held across her chest and her sword was attached to a studded belt that she wore around her waist.


“You ready for this Lily?” Andy asked as he came to her, pulling her close as her black painted fingers nails dug in to the back of his shirt and she rested her head against his chest. This girl was everything to him and while he would prefer her not get involved-all of this was because of Lily.

“I was born ready. Let’s go kick some Demon ass fellas…” She smirked at them all as the guys around them all cheered and raised their fists in to the air.


Their little motley crew set off down the street-daggers and swords hidden beneath jackets, vests and inside of boots. They were walking towards something that none of them were prepared for, but they knew that this is what they had to do. Rising from the street, wearing leather and steel and ready for the hardest fight of their lives.
