A Demonic Love

Killing All Of Your Haters Is Sometimes A Good Thing

Lily smiled as she stood on the side of the stage and watched the love of her life scream into the tiny microphone that he had death gripped in his hands. The small club they were in was only half full, but it was hot and she was sweating buckets at this point. They had left California and were now in Portland Oregon at the Black Cat Club. The guys had only been on for five minutes and already there had been two bottles thrown and fingers were flying through the air.

The people up near the stage were enjoying themselves atleast and Lily smiled as she watched the few kids that were there singing along to Andy the best that they could. Currently the guys were playing Children Surrender, which Andy had written with his past in mind-Demons and darkness. Lily sang along loudly, smirking as CC looked over at her, sticking his tongue out before going back to banging away at his drums.

“Alright guys this next song-“ Andy stopped talking as a bottle flew through the air and nearly hit him right on the nose, but thankfully he ducked out of the way.

“You guys fucking suck! Get off the fucking stage and lets here some real metal!” A very drunken voice sounded out from the back of the room and Lily felt the blood rush to her face as she glanced at Andy and noticed that he had stopped moving around.

“Look dude-it’s okay if you don’t like us…the fucking door is right behind you so feel free to leave at any time.” Andy said into the mic and there were a few cheers from the crowd as Ashley held up a fist and shook it steadily.

“Fuck you emo faggot! All of your fucking fans are pathetic for listening to such a whiny fucking band!” The guy shouted out and Lily could see Andy tense up. Ever since his encounter with the girl back in San Diego Lily had noticed that Andy had become very protective of his fans.

“You want to come up here and say that to my fucking face man? Look you may not like us and that’s fucking fine-but quit ruining this show for the kids who are here to have a good time!” Andy yelled through gritted teeth and Lily moved to hop up on stage, but she felt a hand grab her arm and she knew that Jon was holding her back in that moment.

“Oh-little emo kid thinks he’s tough? Come and get me you fucking makeup wearing little shit!” The guy called out and Andy said nothing as he moved closer and closer to the edge of the stage. His heart was beating a mile a minute and all he wanted to do was jump down and show this guy just what he could do. But the kids in front of him were here to see a show and so after taking a few deep breathes, Andy looked to Ash, Jake and Jinxx, nodding his head slightly as they all went back into playing their next song.

Andy moved into singing the next song, smirking down at the kids in front of him who were screaming and holding up their horns for him to see. He loved this-loved being onstage and feeling like he was making a difference to these kids. Ever since he had spoken to Sarah and heard her tell him that he had saved her-he felt like a new person. He didn’t feel like Andrus anymore-he felt like Andy, just Andy, the lead singer of a band that was trying hard to make something of themselves. He wanted to help people, he wanted kids to hear his songs and find the strength within themselves at his words to fight back.

He and Jake had been working on a lot of things since being on the road and with that they hoped to get home and in to a studio to record their first full length album. Songs like All Your Hate, Never Give In, and Knives and Pens were for their fans and Andy hoped that all of those songs would make it on to the album. As he finished up and the guys took a small break to retune some things, Andy looked over and saw Lily standing on the side of the stage and he couldn’t keep the smile from his face.

She looked so sexy standing there in a tight pair of black pants, his hand writing snaking up and down her legs and she had on an old AFI shirt that was full of holes. Her white blonde hair was sticking up and she had her own war paint going on-something that she had been doing since they had started touring and she came with them. She looked worried and as he caught her eye, Andy noticed her mouth something to him.

‘Are you okay?’ and he only nodded with a smile, which in turn made her smile softly. Soon the guys were ready once again and Andy took a large swig of water as he turned towards the audience and smirked. They all cheered as Jinxx and Jake started in on Knives and Pens and Andy turned his back to them, jiggling his hips up and down to the beat.

Andy screamed in to the mic and as he fell to the floor, his hips up in the air and he heard the screams coming from the audience and he knew-he was meant for this. He loved being on stage and he loved seeing the fans react to him and the rest of the guys. He sang, his words coming out and as he listened to some of the fans sing back to him Andy felt a rush going through his body that he had only felt a handful of times before.

It was like he was fighting Demons again, except this time these Demons were personal and they weren’t his. Everyone had Demons in their life and some people knew how to handle those Demons and others had no clue. Lily hadn’t been able to handle her Demons by herself, but now that Andy was there for her, they both could fight those Demons together.

“Thank you so much you guys! We are the Black Veil Brides from Hollywood California and we hope to see you guys again soon!” Andy smirked into the mic as their final song came to an end and he was met with wild cheering and horns thrown in the air.

“You guys fucking rocked! Check out our merch table on the way out!” Ashley said in to the mic in Andy’s hands and the singer only laughed as he pushed his best friend towards the edge of the stage and all of them headed away from the crowd and back towards the changing room.

Lily was at their table, selling as many shirts as she could and Andy gave her a small smile as he walked past on his way to take a shower and get ready to hit the road. They had three more states to get through and a month left on the tour and Andy couldn’t wait for the next show. As he said hi to a few fans that were hanging around, Andy felt it in his bones that something was about to happen and while he didn’t know if it was good or bad-he would be ready for it none the less.

Andy grunted as he hefted the heavy bass drum into the trailer and then moved out of the way so that CC could come up behind him with the last remaining pieces of their equipment. The show had been over for an hour now and the guys had happily met with some fans as they caught them in between loading up their trailer in the alleyway between the club and the next building over. Andy had signed a few autographs, a concept that was still weird to him-why would people cherish a piece of paper that he had signed?

No matter-Andy was only happy that they’d had a semi successful show, despite the drunken douche that stood at the back of the room and yelled out and flicked them off the entire time. That was one thing Andy still couldn’t understand-the blatant hate that people had for their band solely based on their looks…it didn’t make sense to him and it probably never would. Andy sighed again as he leaned up against their van, pulling a cigarette out of his pack as he looked to his right and noticed two people approaching.

“Hey guys! How’s it going?!” CC called out to the approaching figures and Andy smiled-he had thought most of the fans had left, but these two must have wanted to wait around until the very end.

“What’s going on? Did you guys enjoy the show?” Andy asked, the smile on his face disappearing as the two grown men seemed to get closer and closer to him and Andy could smell the alcohol coming off of them in strong wafts.

“Oh look Brett-it’s the little emo faggot and his bandmate. Not so tough now that you’re not on that stage are you?” The taller of the two snarled as he approached Andy quickly and the singer said nothing as he just continued to lean up against the side of their vehicle.

“Why do you hate us so much man?” Andy asked, his voice strong and confident and the taller guy said nothing as he took a swig at Andy, but missed as the half Demon used his lightening speed to dodge the strike.

“Well there are a few reasons. Your music is lame, your look is even more lame and oh yeah-we’re here to bring you back to Hell.” Andy’s heart stopped as his blue eyes took in the guy before him and finally he noticed the slight point to the very tips of his ears.

Fuck.

Andy dodged another punch and as he spun out of the way he gave CC a warning look but it was already too late. The drummer and the smaller Demon were going at it-thankfully CC was a scrappy fighter and could hold his own against even the toughest guy. Andy reached in his vest, pulling out his dagger as he crouched low to the ground and tried to get his bearings. It had been so long since he had fought that he felt winded and breathless-something that made him even more nervous.

The Demon charged him and Andy swung out, the dagger meeting it’s mark as he heard the tall Demon screech out and place a hand against the open slice that was now on his left arm. Andy smirked, his blue eyes shining and dangerous as he hopped around, trying to get a feel for the next move that would be made against him.

“No one is going back to Hell…” Andy snarled as he looked to the Demon. With his red hair and green eyes, Andy was suddenly reminded of Lattie and although she had been a pain in the ass-especially towards the end-they had been friends for a long time and Andy mourned her loss to himself quietly.

“Oh I think you’ll find that little statement very untrue Andrus. He is coming very soon and He is coming…for the girl.” The red headed Demon sneered at him and both of them became distracted as a shaft of light lit up the alley and Andy felt his heart stop as he looked towards the open doorway.

Lily.

“Lily…go back inside.” Andy said softly and he watched as she dropped the box she had been carrying and moved to head back into the club, the solid door slamming shut behind her.

“Oh, how sweet. The little Halfling has a girlfriend now…well well, how things have changed.” The red head laughed at him and Andy only growled as he lunged and smirked as the Demon before him was caught off guard and the knife in his hands slid into the guy in front of him like butter.

“Things will always change. Your leader is nothing but a liar and a cheater. He leads the lot of you around, making promises for a new day and yet you all stay caught up in his sweet blasphemous promises. You’re his weapons-imperfect in your faith and love for him. I have found true love and nothing-no one-is going to take her away from me.” Andy said, his voice low and dangerous as he twisted the knife more and the Demon whimpered.

Andy stood and watched as the life slowly left the Demon's eyes and as he looked up he smiled. CC had been able to dispose of the other one-snapping his neck and now they had two dead bodies to contend with. Andy allowed the dead Demon in his arms to fall to the floor with a sickening crack and he smirked as he thought over his words. He had been a slave to Satan in his youth-foolish in believing the promises that had been set forth, but he knew better now. A life of being told that love was shameful and would only lead to misery had made Andy a very bitter person-Ashley would probably always be bitter in the ways of love, but as Andy wiped his hands on a towel that CC had handed him, he couldn’t help but smile.

A tiny girl, her white blonde hair and light lavender eyes had shown him a lot of things in life. She had taught him everything he knew about music. She made him understand that it was okay to be happy and to want to laugh and enjoy things. She had shown him what it was to love. To care for someone so much that you would die before allowing them to feel pain. She had taught him everything in life and yet as he stood there and looked down on the two bodies before him and knew that he had so much more to learn.

He only hoped that Lily would be there with him every step of the way-that she would be his forever and that he would be the same for her.
