Three Little Words
“Lily? Lily did you hear me?” Andy asked and suddenly he felt a nervousness settle in his stomach. Had his question upset her in some way? That was the last thing he had wanted to do, but Andy felt so confused by the feelings that were floating around inside him. He trusted Lily and she had helped him so much-why not just ask her?
“I-uh-yeah. Yeah I heard you.” She said quietly. She seemed confused herself and she kept blinking her light lavender eyes at him, her teeth grinding down on her bottom lip as she stared at him. Finally after a few minutes her eyes seemed to focus on his face and she cleared her throat.
“It’s a stupid question I know…”He had to fill that silence and he did so with a slight smirk. She was rubbing her hands up and down her arms, her eyes staring down at her lap and suddenly Andy moved his hands to take hers and she became still. Lily looked up, locking eyes with him and she felt her breath catch in her throat.
“It-it’s not stupid. I just don’t have a very good answer for you.” She laughed and Andy smiled at her. They were both sitting up now and Lily had moved so that she was facing him, her bent and crossed knees brushing against his leg softly.
“Well is there an answer? I know I can’t be the first person to ever wonder about this sort of thing.” He said, his blue eyes playful as he looked at her. Lily found herself blushing deeply under his stare and she suddenly felt really hot.
“Yeah.” She said dumbly. Crap-what was she supposed to say? You love someone when they make you smile constantly? You love someone when your heart hurts when you can’t be near them. You love someone when they are literally all you think about. Their lips. Their hair…those eyes.
Lily had never been in love before. She had loved her family of course but that was different-family members had to love one another even though sometimes Lily thought her mother wished she had never been born. No, loving family was not that ‘I need you-can’t live without you’ type of love. She had never loved anyone like that before. Until now. She loved Andy-Lily couldn’t deny those feeling she had for him anymore. Even if he never loved her back Lily knew she couldn’t go through life knowing the truth but still trying to hide those feelings from herself.
From Andy? Sure-she could probably hide those feeling from him forever, but did she want to keep hiding them from him? He didn’t really ever need to know how she felt about him-he could just think that she crushed on him and that would be that. But she knew she would have to tell him eventually-she would explode if she didn’t. Lily looked down at their clasped hands and she felt her mouth turn dry-dryer than any desert in the world. She knew then-she had to tell him, right now or else she never would. He had to know that she was head over heels-can’t eat-can’t sleep in love with him. So in love that she was over the moon and it hurt to look at him and to think that he may leave her life at any moment.
“Well-um- you know you love someone when they are all you think about. It hurts to not be near them and you feel lost when they aren’t around. Uh-you always smile when you think about them and you can’t bear to think about what you’re life would be like without them in it…even for a few shorts hours.” She explained in a rushed voice and as she looked at him Lily noticed that Andy seemed to be thinking things over. He was biting down on his lip ring and his blue eyes had clouded over with thought. Lily licked her lips slowly as she watched him think things through and suddenly he smiled at her.
“Does your heart race when they’re around?” He asked and Lily said nothing as she could only nod her head slowly. She looked at him and then looked down nervously as she tucked her white blonde hair behind her ears and she could feel her hands trembling.
“And do your palms get really sweaty every time you look into their beautiful eyes?”He asked his voice low and Lily felt herself shiver as she looked up from her lap and caught his eyes. Beautiful eyes? What was he getting at?
“Kissing them-does it feel like an electric shock is running through your body when your lips touch?” Lily gulped loudly and she only nodded as Andy smirked at her and moved his face closer towards her.
“Do you get lost in their eyes every time you look at them?” His voice was low and raspy as he looked at her through his eye lashes and Lily felt a blush creep up her neck.
“Ye-yes.” She said and suddenly he had closed the space between them and Lily felt herself melt inside.
Their lips touched and as his lip ring rubbed against the skin of her mouth Lily knew exactly what Andy had meant about electricity. It felt as if someone had come up to her and held a cattle prod to her stomach-she felt electric and she felt alive…more alive than she ever had. Andy smirked into their kiss and soon his hand dropped hers and instead they found a home at the back of her head, his fingers tangling themselves in her hair as he kissed her even deeper than before. His tongue was on her lips and Lily moaned as she parted them for him and then his tongue was in her mouth. They stayed like that for a few more moments until finally Andy pulled away. He seemed out of breath as he looked at her through his long lashes. She looked at him, her lavender eyes haunting him as he felt a blush come on and he cleared his throat to break the silence.
“Lily I-I need to tell you something…” His voice was so low that Lily could hardly hear him. She smiled softly and bit down on her lower lip and she smirked gently as her lavender eyes connected with his shy looking baby blues. What was going on? She felt butterflies fluttering in her stomach and all of a sudden Lily felt her heart stop. Was this it? Was this their moment?
“I-I have to tell you something too.” She said and Andy smiled softly, a look of relief washing over his features as the two faced one another. He moved suddenly and soon his hand was resting against her cheek, his palm warm as she tilted her head towards his hand and she felt her eyes close in contentment. She looked so peaceful sitting there and Andy felt the courage build up inside of him.
“Lily I lov-“ There was a loud bang from outside their door and the couple both jumped as the door burst open, the wood smacking against the wall behind it. Andy grumbled as he noticed CC come crashing into the room-was he drunk? The guys had had a little to drink earlier that night after the show, but it was nothing to cause anyone to become rowdy.
“Dude! You need to come downstairs NOW!” CC shouted at Andy and the singer only growled as he looked back to Lily apologetically before getting up. He approached CC slowly, his hands up in the air until finally he reached the panicked drummer and Andy placed a hand on CC’s arm.
“Not now man. I’ll be down in a bit.” Andy said through gritted teeth and CC only shook his head as he looked from Andy and then his brown eyes landed on Lily. Andy sighed-CC would be the end of him with all of the infernal interruptions.
“But Andy…” CC said and Andy sighed loudly but then another loud crash came from down the stairs and Andy noticed two things. There were shouts coming up from below and CC was visibly terrified-he was even shaking a little bit as his eyes pleaded with Andy.
“CC…”Andy said, looking from the drummer and then back towards Lily. She was up on her knees, still on the bed, but she looked confused and her eyes were wide in panic.
“No. Now Andy. Lily-stay here.” CC said, regaining his courage as more shouts called out from below. Andy couldn’t possibly imagine what was going on down there, but with an apologetic look towards his girlfriend he followed CC down the hall, his bare feet skidding across the cold wooden flooring.
Andy followed CC as the drummer rushed down the stairs and he felt like his heart was going to beat right out of his chest. What could be going on down there that was so important that CC had to interrupt? AGAIN? Andy sighed as he looked at the back of CC’s head and he was tempted to flick him behind the ear-the guy had the absolute worst timing ever. His anger with CC disappeared as Andy reached the bottom of the stairs and noticed that the front door was wide open. That was strange-Jinxx was always careful to lock the door every night since the neighborhood they lived in was far from being the best. There were shouts coming from the common area and as Andy hit the bottom floor and walked through the archway he felt his heart stop.
Nine. Nine Demons were standing nearest to him.
Ashley was up on his feet, his hands in the air with his fists clenched and Andy noticed that Jinxx and Jake were both sitting on the couch, but they too looked ready to jump up. As Andy took in the scene before him he felt so many emotions come to a head in his body. Anger. Frustration. Hurt. Despair. Would they never leave he and Lily alone? Andy took in each Demon one by one until finally his eyes landed on a red headed girl who looked very familiar. Lattie. Fuck-Andy felt his anger grow towards Ashley. The bassist was supposed to get rid of her-permanently and Andy should have known that Ash’s feelings for his twin would prevent him from killing her. Andy growled as he stepped forward and suddenly thirteen pairs of eyes were all trained on him.
“How can we help you guys?” He asked simply as he moved forward and two of the taller Demons only sneered at him as they took in his makeup covered face and body. Andy scanned his eyes around the room and noticed that CC had moved over towards Ash and both Jinxx and Jake had stood up.
“You know why we’re here Andrus.” One of the tall male Demons said and Andy noticed that Lattie had a sick smirk spread across her cherry red lips. How had they been found? One look at Lattie and Andy knew-she had betrayed their location to the group that had been chasing them all down.
“Well if it’s to party then I’m sad to say that we’re all pretty much done for the night. So if you would please leave…” Andy said but was broken off by their loud laughter. He felt his fists clench along with his jaw and Andy felt his fingers twitching as he thought about the dagger that he had hidden in his right boot.
“We’re here for the girl Andy…” Lattie spoke up and Andy noticed that her bright green eyes were trained on something behind him. Andy turned, his face falling as he saw her there standing on the stairs-her eyes wide with fear and he only wanted to go to her in that moment. Lily.
Lily felt frozen as she took in the scene before her. Andy was facing with his back towards her and he seemed to be trying to get the group to leave. Why were they here? Suddenly a very familiar girl spoke up and as Lily heard her name-she felt her heart stop. They had found Andy and her…they were here to take her back to Hell. Lily felt her legs shaking as she looked down on the group and suddenly Andy had turned and she caught the look in his eyes. Pure terror stared her straight in the face and Lily felt tears come to her eyes as she noticed that that Demons that stood behind Andy had also acknowledged her presence. They all stared at her with the same look on their very similar faces-glee. Andy moved towards her slightly and Lily cried out as one of the taller Demons ran towards her and Andy called out to her the best advice he could give in that moment.
“Lily! Run!”
Too bad she was frozen and even when she did seem to realize that she needed to flee-Lily didn’t even think to run out the wide open front door. No-instead she ran back up the stairs, her feet smacking against the wood and she hoped that she would be safe-that Andy wouldn’t let any of them past the first landing. Too bad Lily completely missed the small red headed Demon that had leapt over Andy and was now chasing after her.
