We Caught Fire

Left Behind

Odessa laughed as she watched Andy getting ready in the mirror. He was swaying his skinny hips, shirtless as he tried to apply his eyeliner. His mouth was wide open, his fingers digging around his eye as he tried to keep things perfect. It was the last show for the band on their UK Tour and she could tell that they were all ready to get back home. All of the guys were getting cranky and they really seemed to be ready to get into the studio. Andy still hadn’t shared the song he was writing on the first day of tour with anyone, not even Dess. Finally, with his makeup perfect, Andy turned to her and smiled.

“Last show babe. You excited?” She asked him as she laid back down on the bed, her legs dangling over the edge.

“Fuck yeah…the last shows are always the best.” He was like a little kid on Christmas as he came over to her. He stood between her legs, his hands coming to rest against her thighs as he bent down.

“I’ll bet. I can’t wait to see you prance around on stage tonight. Do you watch videos of yourself to prefect your strutting?” She giggled as he scowled down at her. His face was mere inches away and Odessa smiled up at him innocently. Suddenly his fingers were grasping at her waist and he raised an eyebrow.

“…I do not strut.” He said the last word like it was filthy and Dess didn’t like the look in his eyes.

“Strut. You strut…face it. Its kind of cute actually…” She was cut off by his fingers as he began to wiggle them against her skin. She gasped for breath but Andy just kept tickling her. Dess tried to wiggle away from him, turning so that she was on her stomach but he just moved right along with her.

“Say you’re sorry!” He laughed loudly as she squealed beneath him, refusing to apologize.

“Strut! Strut, strut, strut!” She gasped out and he sat on her then, his boney butt on her back and he moved to tickle her right around her neck, which was one of her more sensitive spots he had found out one night.

“Dess…don’t make me punish you…” He laughed as she flipped over, shoving him away and she just looked at him and stuck her tongue out.

“What are you going to do? Spank me?” She stuck her tongue out again and moved to the opposite side of the bed. He stared her down and lunged, grabbing her around the waist he brought her to him. Her stomach was resting against his knees and he brought a hand up.

“Apologize…” His voice was serious and Dess felt the laughter leave her chest.

“Nope. Not sorry…” She just shook her head and gasped as suddenly she felt a slight tingling in her backside. Did he really just spank her?

“…Dess…” His voice was low. He was enjoying watching her squirm beneath his fingers.

“…did you really just spank me Biersack?” She asked and winced as his hand came down against her butt once again, this time slightly harder.

“I told you I would punish you…” He growled in her ear before kissing it softly and letting her up.Dess jumped up, her hand rubbing at her butt as she glared down at him.

“Mean! That hurt!” She pouted, her bottom lip coming to jut out.

“I love you though…” Andy smiled up at her from his place on the bed and reached out to grab her legs.

“I love you too…no more spanking…” She felt his fingers dig into her jean clad legs and she moved to stand between his legs.

“Maybe later tonight?” He asked and she rolled her eyes down at him.

“Only if you’re good…” She leaned down, placing her lips against his and felt him smirk against her.

“Baby…I’m always good.” He laughed as he got up, placing a kiss on her forehead. Odessa rolled her eyes and headed into the bathroom. The boys wanted to look their best for the evening and so did she.

Odessa straightened her hair first, teasing it slightly in the back so that it had some volume. Looking at Andy’s bag that sat on the counter, a smirk rolled across her lips as she dug around and pulled out his eyeliner. She moved slowly, not used to doing this and as she stared at herself in the mirror she smiled.

Her eyes were heavily outlined, the green sticking out amongst the dark black. Next she applied the reddest lipstick that either of them had. Luckily she had thought to bring her dress in with her and finally she slipped it over her shoulders. Smirking in the mirror Odessa cracked the door open and stepped out.

“Holy…” Andy was speechless as he watched Dess walk out of the bathroom.

The dress she had on was very pale pink, with the top being so tight it pushed her wonderful figure up and the bottom was fluffy and came out in a halo around her legs. She wore a leather jacket, the sleeves rolled up her arms slightly and as Andy looked down he smirked. She was clad in leather boots, the strap across the front studded and shining in the light.

“Looks like I’m rubbing off on you…” He smiled down at her as she came to him, a small smile playing on her lips.

“Yeah well…I always thought you looked really hot with all that make up on.” She kissed his lips softly, smacking him on his ass as he moved past her to enter the bathroom once again.

Odessa laid down on the bed, resting on her elbows as she smirked over at the bathroom door. The past few weeks had been pretty great and after her little meltdown, things seemed to get pretty normal. Hearing a buzzing noise, Odessa searched around and finally was able to dig her cell phone out of the carry on bag that she had packed earlier. Her heart stopped as she read the message on the screen.

Trish: 911! Call ASAP!

“Oh God…” Dess fumbled with her phone as she struggled to bring up Trish’s number. Finally finding it she bit down on her lip as it seemed to ring forever.

“Dess! It’s bad…so so bad!” The younger girl sobbed on the other end and Odessa felt the tears come to her eyes.

“Trish? What is happening?” She wanted to know, but spoke slowly hoping that the girl would calm down.

“Hospice is here…she’s so far gone Dess. You need to come home NOW!” Odessa cried at this, she knew what it meant when Hospice showed up-the family had maybe a week to get ready for things to turn from bad to worse.

“I will be there. I’m gonna get on the next flight and I will be there. Tell her I love her and thank you…thank you so much Trish.” Odessa hung up and flew around the room.

Her mind spun as she began to throw things into bags, not even caring if they were hers or Andy’s. She rolled thoughts around in her brain-she had to leave NOW. There was no waiting until tomorrow or the next day because Moira could be gone by the time she got on the plane. She knew coming on tour with Moira so sick was a terrible idea and Odessa felt like beating herself up for even going a long with the idea. She cried, her tears spilling over her cheeks and dragging her makeup down with them. In her flurry, Dess didn’t even notice that Andy was standing in the bathroom door, staring at her strangely.

“Babe I know you’re ready to go home, but we have plenty of time tomorrow to pack up.” He walked over towards her, placing a hand on her shoulder which she shrugged off and moved across the room.

“…Dess? Dess what’s the hurry?” She turned to him then and he stepped back. Her face was wild, her green eyes firing up as she stared at him. Her cheeks were bright red and he could see that she had been crying.

“Oh God…what’s happening?” He came to her, his strong arms making her stand still as she collapsed into them.

“Hos-Moi-I-I…” She was sobbing so hard against his chest that Andy felt his heart skip a beat. He held her at arm’s length and looked down at her sternly.

“Calm. Down.” He said, his voice strong and suddenly Dess snapped out of it.

“Andy…I have to go…Hospice…Moira…please.” She pulled away from him and started running for the door, thankfully with his long legs Andy was able to catch her.

“Dess. Just wait until tomorrow. We can leave first thing in the morning.” He was trying to be reasonable which was new for him as usually Dess was the reasonable one.

“I CAN’T! If she dies tonight and I’m not there I don’t know if I can live with myself…” She looked up at him, her eyes pleading as he bit down on his lip ring.

“Fine. Go. I will be right behind you as soon as I step off that stage. Hopefully I’ll only be a few hours behind.” He sighed, bringing her to him as he felt her sigh against his bare chest.

“I would never expect you to not go on for your fans Andy…but I have to go.” She pulled away from him and looked up.

“That’s why I love you…” He reached down, kissing her forehead softly as he moved to grab her carry on.

“Take this. I’ll bring the rest later. That way you don’t have to waste time checking things.” She smiled up at him, her eyes were red and blurry. He couldn’t help but think that she looked so beautiful like this-vulnerable and in need of his love.

The couple ran down the hallway and Andy was almost half tempted to pick Dess up and carry her so they could get downstairs faster. Finally hitting the lobby and ignoring the stares from others, Andy pushed open the large front doors and held his arm up. A cab pulled up quickly and he spoke to the driver, handing him a bill and then turning to Dess.

“Be safe. Hug Moira for me and tell her to hang on for me. I love you so much Dess…” He wrapped his arms around her neck, his cheek coming to rest on the top of her head.

“I will call you as soon as my plane lands. Thank you Andy…thank you for everything you’ve ever done. I love you so, so much.” She moved her head to look up at him. Their lips met as the driver of the cab honked and Odessa moved to climb in.

Shutting the door, she looked up at Andy and held her hand against the window. She could see the tears in his eyes as he placed a hand on the glass, covering hers and she couldn’t take her eyes off of him as the car pulled away.

Dess just hoped that Moira would hold on long enough to see her one true savior for the last time.

Notes

It's happening...I told you it was going to happen. WARNING: Tissues are going to be needed for the coming chapters.

I really wanted to make the first bit of this chapter playful-normal almost because in life things can be normal one moment and the next...well things can come crashing down.

Please review and I'll give you a tap dance to Perfect Weapon...promise.
