Naomi's POV

Holy shit. Holy shit. Jake Pitts is sitting next to me, telling me my voice was amazing and asking me to sing another song. All I could do is look at my wrists. I should probably mention, I do this when I'm either thinking or nervous. I honestly don't know why, I just do. Finally, I turned to Jake.

"What song would you like to here?" I asked. I was kinda hoping he would ask about my journal. It had all of the songs I've ever written and ones I'm working on. I was hoping maybe he would ask to hear one...
"You write, don't you?" pointing to my journal. My heart skipped a beat, and I was back to staring at my wrists. "Um, yeah I do. How'd you know?" I asked. "Well, you're at the beach with an acoustic guitar, and a journal with music notes all over it. It's not hard to put two and two together." he said, and I blushed. God I hate when I blush. I tried non-chalonlty covering my face, but he just pushed my hand down. "Don't cover it, you look beautiful when you blush."

Jake's POV

"Well, you're at the beach with an acoustic guitar, and a journal with music notes all over it. It's not hard to put two and two together." I said, trying my hardest not to come off as a jerk. She just started to blush again. This time though, she tried covering it. So I reached out pushed her hand away and said "Don't cover it, you look beautiful when you blush." "No! I was not falling for a girl I just met. No. NO!" I turned toward her again and saw she had turned her attention back to her wrists. I knew before I even asked. "Can I see them?" I don't know why I wanted to see, I guess I just wanted to protect her. She looked up and nodded.

She handed me her wrist and I rolled up her sleeve. Her arm was covered in scars, and I'm not exaggerating when I say covered. I just wanted to hold her in my arms and tell her it's ok. I started to speak, but she stopped me. She looked at me and spoke softly "I'm not ashamed of my scars. I don't try to hide them. They show I'v been through shit but was strong enough to stop and keep on living." I just sat there stunned. I didn't know what to say.

Naomi's POV

So my idol had just seen my scars, I gave him the speech, and he looked at me, stunned. Finally he spoke. "I can't believe it. I don't think I've ever met someone who wasn't ashamed. If you don't mind me asking, what made you stop?" He looked into my eyes. God his eyes were amazing. "I woke up one day and realized that even though shit happens, life doesn't stop around you. I actually wrote a song about it, if you still want to hear one." I smiled. Stars Still Shine, Hearts Still Beat was the song I working hard to perfect. It's harder than it sounds, I've revised it so much that it's been reduced to just the chorus. I just want this one to be perfect. "Of course I want to hear it!" he smiled and excitement showed in his eyes. Did I mention his eyes were amazing? Ok anyways, I scammed to find the page and started playing:

Jake's POV

I didn't know what to say at first. It was a beautiful song, the lyrics were beautiful, the guitar was beautiful, Naomi was bea- I should really stop talking. I just look at her and smiled. "Did you like it? It's really a work in progress" Now it was my turn to stop her. "It was beautiful, everything about it." This caused her to blush again. God I loved the way she looked when she was blushing. "Thanks Jake, it means a lot to me."
