"Damn it's colder than I thought it would. Should have grabbed a jacket. Too late to go back now." I thought to myself as I walked along the ocean in San Diego. The band was here for a short vacation. We leave in 3 days, but honestly I wish I could never leave. Me and my girlfriend had just broken up 20 minutes ago. Why, you ask? Caught her cheating. God, why do I always pick the bad ones? I felt my phone vibrate. I looked and saw it was CC texting me.

CC: dude what the hell happened? You stormed out of the hotel lookin pissed.
Me: caught tess cheating. Walking along the beach now.
CC: holy shit man. I'm sorry. Want me to kick her ass ;)
Typical CC, to be honest it cheered me up a bit.
Me: no its fine. She'll be gone in an hour. Mind telling the guys for me? I won't be back for a while."
CC: yeah sure. Be back before midnight, ya hear me?!
Me: it is midnight, dipshit.
CC: well soooorrrryyyy

I locked my phone and continued walking. That's when it hit me. The girl I loved with all my heart, who I thought loved me back, made out with another guy. Multiple times. Why would she do that to me? She could have at broken it off, I would have preferred it that way. I didn't realize I was crying until a breeze came and my face went cold. Well, colder than it already was. Instead of wiping the tears away, I just let them fall.

That's when I heard the most beautiful singing I think I've ever heard. I looked up to see a girl, not much younger than me, about 5 feet away. I hadn't noticed her before, I had my head down. She had bright red wavy hair, a black beanie with gold crosses on it, a black sweater, and black leggings. Next to her we're a pair of studded converse. That's when I heard what song she was singing.

I laid the gods to rest.
I held the key to the the kingdom,
Lions guarding castle walls.
Haill the king of death.

"Cool she's a fan. And god is she beautiful. Wait, what? No, her voice. Her voice is beautiful." I thought. God I better not be falling for her. I decided to talk to her.

"Excuse me, but that wouldn't happen to be Black Veil Brides, would it?" She looked up at me and smiled. "It is, actually. I apologize for my terrible voice though." What? Did she honestly think she sang terrible? God why are woman always insecure? "I'm sorry, terrible?" I said, pointing out she was rather good. She blushed a little bit. That was really cu-Ok no. No. Just broke up with Tess, remember? regaining my train of thought, I said "You're absolutely amazing, and trust me, I would know. I sing in the band that wrote that song.

Now it was her turn to be shocked. "Holy shit. Your Jake motherfucking Pitts. Dude your fucking awesome! god I must be dreaming. Am I dreaming? I fell asleep on my guitar again, didn't I?"
"Nope, I'm real. Wait, again?" She blushed again and laughed. "Mind if I sit with you?" I asked. I honestly just wanted to look through the notebook she had at her feet. I knew she was a song writer when I saw it. "Of course! But are you gonna ask my name or am I just going to rename nameless?" she asked, playfully smiling. I chuckled. "Whichever you prefer." She looked down at her wrists, then back up at me.

"Just call me Naomi."
Pretty name to match a prett-NO!
"Well, Naomi, mind playing me another song?"
