Naomi's POV

"Hey do you know what time it is?" I asked. Tonight I wanted to get a good night's sleep before work tomorrow. Jake looked at his phone. "1:27. Why?" "Holy shit I need to get home I have work tomorrow!" I said jumping up. Jake looked at me with a sad expression. Was he sad to see me go? Gently I put my guitar in its case and closed it. "Need any help?" Jake asked. "Yeah, can you de-sand my blanket?" I replied, quickly grabbing my journal and lantern and putting them in my bag. Jake did and handed me the blanket, which I then stuffed into my bag as well.

Then I turned to Jake. "Look, I feel bad for leaving so suddenly. Let me give you a lift to wherever your going." Jake looked down for a bit, then spoke. "I can't go back yet. Look, Naomi, the reason I was walking is because I caught my now ex-girlfriend cheating. I don't think I'm ready to face anyone just yet." he said. This made me sad. "Look, I've been there. Wanna stay at my place tonight?" I asked.

Jake's POV

Wait, did I hear that right? I looked up. Naomi looked at me with a sad expression on her face. She reached up and wiped some tears from my face. God, how do I not know when I'm crying? "Are you sure? I don't want to cause any problems." I said. She looked at me and gave me a little smile. "You wouldn't cause any problems. Look, like I said before, I know what it's like. You can sleep on my couch. I dont have any extra clothes, though.." She said, but I wasn't listening I was lost in her perfect blue eyes. After a while, I realized I hadn't given an answer. "Sorry, uhm, that's ok I dont mind. Look, I can't thank you enough." I said, hugging her. It felt good having her in my arms. Finally, I let go. Then we started for her car.

"So, where's work?" I asked curiously. I wanted to know everything about her. "I'm a tattoo artist. We're not that busy this week, you and the guys shoud stop by!" she said. You know, that's actually not a bad idea. "Hey, maybe we might! I want the guys to meet you, they would love you!" I said, getting her to blush again. "Really? Wow, I would love that. But tell me, how bad will Ashley's flirting get?" she asked. I laughed "Very bad. Prepare yourself."

~~15 MINUTES LATER~~

We pulled into a small apartment complex and made our way to apartment 8. Naomi unlocked the door and walked in. I followed. The apartment wasn't tiny, but it was small. But in a way, I liked it. "Hey, I'll grab you some blankets and pillows. Be right back!" I heard Naomi yell. When she came into the living room, she had two blankets and a pillow. She also changed into pj's. As I was setting up the couch, I noticed Naomi looked nervous. "Hey, is everything ok?"

Naomi's POV

It was safe to say I was nervous. For the past two nights, I've woken up in the middle of the night screaming, and now Jake Pitts was sleeping in my living room. I guess he saw how uneasy he was, since he asked about it. "Hey, is everything ok?" he asked me. I sighed and sat down next to him on the couch. "Look, for the past two nights I've woken up screaming. I have really vivid nightmares, and they're getting worse. So if you hear me scream, that's all it is." I tried to get up and walk away, but Jake grabs my wrist. "Want me to....... I don't know..... Lay with you? Just in case?" I looked at him with disbelief. But it's not like I was going to say no. I was terrified, and Jake made me feel safe. I nodded and led him to my room and we both got under the covers. I cuddled against Jake's chest and looked up at him. "Thank you." is all I said, then I fell asleep.

Jake's POV

It's official, I'm in love with Naomi.
