Ashley’s POV

Opening my eyes, I see that I am in a hospital room. Looking around, I see Andy sitting beside me. Groaning, he looks up and then calls for a doctor immediately. “Hello Mr. Purdy. I see that you’re awake now. All right so I’m going to tell you what’s going on. Your left leg, arm, hip, a few ribs and wrist are broken as well as your fingers. With do time, they will heal. You have a concussion as well as a back injury. Also, you have a fractured Cheekbone, jaw bone and we had to drill a small hole in your skull to release pressure on your brain. We had to shave some of your hair to do so. Your back is also fractured. There will need to be surgery to fix it if it does not heal properly. We also have reason to worry that you might not be able to walk again. It’s highly likely that you will be able to but there is a slight chance for paralysis. Do you understand?”

I nodded slowly and the doctor continued, “We also discovered you are severely under weight and dehydrated. The cuts we found were cleansed and then bandaged.” So they did see those. Andy held what he could of my hand and let me know I wasn’t alone. “We would suggest you seek professional help because of your back ground with self harm and an eating disorder.” that went to hell in a hand basket.

“Alright.”

“ The injuries that will heal first will be the cuts and bruises and then the fractures in your face. After will be your fingers and ribs. Your leg, hip and wrist will take about 2 months but with the lack of nutrients, it may take longer. So we suggest eating only healthy, protein filled foods such as fish and vegetables. Your back will take the longest.”

Nodding the doctor continued, “we will be giving you nutrients through a IV as well as fluids to keep you hydrated. We also have a nutritionist coming into to help you with eating to get better as well as a professional to speak with you about your self harm”

Nodding again, the doctor excused him self and Andy then began to tell me what happened Andy Dawn. My heart broke. My beautiful, amazing daughter tried to end her life. I’m so very glad she didn’t succeed with that. I don’t know what I would do with out her. Mckendrie was right Andy Dawn would need me. Mckendrie, the kiss I felt with her was amazing. I felt whole and at peace. One day, I hope I will be able to move on because I can’t keep living this way.


When Andy dawn walked in, I could tell she was nervous. Once everything was cleared up, CC and Jake returned to the room. Jake told us a secret we never knew. He tried to end his life not once but twice. CC told us how he left a party and then the next day, his friend OD. Andy told us about him being friends with this girl who died and how he felt that he could have stopped her if he talked to her a bit more. I told them about Mckendrie being my fiancée.


After we all shared a secret we haven’t told before, I felt like we had a new-formed bond. Like we had a strong bond before but now, now where unbreakable. The guys left because it was getting late and it was Christmas Eve. They promised to be by first thing in the morning. The nurse, who was old by the way- darn, no flirting with the nurses. I bet Andy or someone made sure of that. They take my fun away! Losers! I watched what ever was on the TV for a while before the nurse demanded I go to bed. When I started to argue back, she knocked me out with a sedative.




Waking up the next morning, I see Andy Dawn, Andy and CC. Remembering all of yesterday, I asked Andy Dawn, “do you want to transfer schools? I know that hunter never messaged you back but try again. Find out where he goes and you can go there. I’ll get you into whatever school you want. Pick one.” she nodded and then tried calling him. Once she got a hold of him, she left the room to speak with him. “The doctor said you could leave in a week. They want you to put on a little bit of weight; you still look like a skeleton that’s why. And they want to make sure your bones are healing alright.” Nodding he sighed. “What happens after that?” I asked. “Well, they would like you to get professional help. And once your bones are healing properly, they will do back surgery if its needed otherwise, you’ll be back on stage rocking your bass in no time.”

Smiling I said, “yeah. And you can go back to flipping people off who yell you suck.” He laughed and said, “that too. What are we going to do about the church of wild ones tour?” I thought for a moment and said, “I kind of hate this idea, just a bit but Andy Dawn can learn my parts and you guys can help her and maybe, just maybe she could play for me. That is IF she wants to. But then again, what about school?” Andy thought for a moment and said, “your fingers should be healed in about a month so, and you could play from a wheel chair. And we can get Andy Dawn a tutor. She can finish her schoolwork on tour and then send it back and then we can get her into another school next year. all else fails, independent study and send her stuff back. I’m doing that I think. All I want is to walk across the stage and get my diploma.”


“That could work. She could play until I can play. I think if we did do that, I’d stay home. It would be really hard to tour while being a broken mangled mess.” I said. “Your right. So if when you’re healed to the point you can play, you fly out to where we are and then you take her place. We can have her on independent study and then transfer her to a school right before school ends and then we go on warped.” Andy said. Andy Dawn walked into the room and said, “All I heard was independent study and tour. What?” Andy smiled and said, “Well since Father dearly is unable to play, we want you to take his place. You would be playing his part until he is able. That means it would be CC, Jake, Jinxx You and me. Dad would stay behind because of his broken bones.” She smiled and said, “You want me, to play his parts? How do you know if I’m any good?”

“Your mine. If you can sing, you can play bass. Simple really.” She laughed and said, “Okay so I really can play. What about school?” Andy told her about independent study and then turning the work in by mail. She liked the idea and was willing to do it. Calling the guys, we let them know the plan and then we left a message for the record company. Andy dawn and Andy wandered out to go make the phone call so CC sat next to me and then said lets make a video.

So he pretty much sat there filming me talking about what happened, meaning I explained what happened to my car and me. He put in his thoughts every once in awhile. When I felt like the video was getting to sad, I would try and crack a joke. Once he finished recording, he posted it on twitter. We answered a few questions people asked. Andy returned with the munchkin by his side that was smiling like a kid on Christmas cause hey, IT’S CHRISTMAS! Andy said that the record company was fine with it as long as she got her work done for school and didn’t cause any trouble.


The rest of the day it was just me and Andy dawn until Sammi and Jinxx brought the other munchkins around. We all had a good time before they had to leave. Andy dawn and I got to bond a little bit and got close again. It felt just like before things got bad. My only hope is that things never ever get that way again. It pains me to know that my beautiful daughter hurts herself and that she was bullied. I can’t wait to get out of here and go home. Things are going to get better I see that now.

i know, I know. its short. its all I could come up with today. I had major writers block and nothing could cure it. I also had YouTube distracting me every two seconds. eeeepppp.
