"Yeah!" Esther jumped up and ran out the door.

I was so happy to see her happy again. She hasn't been this happy since her parents died. After that she never felt home. The people around her never looked her in the eye. Her "friends" never talked to her. I was the only one who stayed around and helped her though her hard time. I followed her out the door to see that she was already talking to someone.

"Cat, come here!" She motioned for me to join her.

She was talking to a boy about our age. he had hair that almost covered his eyes but to prevent that he swept it to the side. He was tall, 6 feet? He had an adorable smile that made his face look chubby but his was skinny.

"This is Zain, Andy's little brother!" Esther said looking back at him .

He had blue eyes like Andy but his weren't has extravagant as Andy's.

"Well I'm adopted." He smiled.

"It's better than not having any family." Esther said.

"Yeah, hey what camp did you guys come from?" His vice was deep but not as deep as Andy's.

"Camp H," we said.

"Damn, how long have you been walking?" He asked

"Honestly I have no idea." Esther said rubbing the cut on her forehead.

"Well you guys hungry?" Zain asked us.

"Hell yeah!" Esther said rubbing her stomach.

Zain laughed and lead us toward a case of stairs. Once we reached the bottom he turned left and we immediately entered an open food court of sorts. Food carts and stands were serving people soup, bread, and meat that made my mouth water. Esther's mouth opened, Zain laughed and asked what we preferred to eat. When we shook our heads he took Esther's hand and walked toward a vender in the middle of the courtyard. We waited in line and saw people receiving food I had never seen or smelled before.

"Anything new?" Zain asked the man handling the food.

"Something new just for you, Zain." The man said with a smile.

"Well whatever it is make it three. They're new here and starving apparently." He smiled glancing toward Esther.

The man chopped some form of meat then handed three plates of food Zain. "You didn't get it from me. Got it?" The man said to Zain as Zain handed him money to pay for the food.

"Got it! Thanks Cho!" That must have been the mans name.

We sat on the ground and Zain gave us the plates. "Oh my god!" Esther said with a mouth full of food. "This is amazing! Cat, to be afraid it's so good!" She said.

I was just playing with my food, it honestly didn't look to appetizing. Although it smelled good I couldn't get past the look. Seeing the stares from her and Zain I slowly put a piece of the meet in my mouth. It was the most delicious thing I had ever had. I must have made a funny expression because both Esther and Zain laughed as I chewed this amazing food. I couldn't even explain how it tastes.

"Good huh?" Zain asked.

Since my mouth was filled with food I just nodded shoving as much food as I could get into my mouth. "Slow down there piggy!" Esther laughed.

I stopped shoveling and chewed what I had then swallowed. "Is all your food like this?" I asked.

"Some of it, I guess you don't get this kind of food in Camp H?" He said putting small bites in his mouth. He was obviously used to this amazing food.

"Hell no!" Esther said continuing to put food in her mouth.

The rest of the meal was spent with small talk about our lives before, how Zain had been found by Andy's parents and now Andy was all he had since Andy's parents had died from the plague. Esther talked about how her parents had died leaving out the part about her being the one who had caused the fire that burned her house to the ground with her parents inside.

When the food was gone I stood up. "I'm gonna go look around. Wanna come with me?" I asked Esther.

She shook her head, "Nah, I'm gonna stay with Zain. If that's okay?"

"Yeah," I said walking off out of the court yard.

I wandered around the top floor for a while before hearing some kind of music and people standing inside a large room. I walked in seeing that only men were occupying the space. I looked threw the crowd to try and see what was going on. I saw a man who had long black hair like Coma and Jinxx's, he also had marking on his skin. He was biting his lip and staring at what I had finally figured out was dancing (strip club.)

He glanced my way and put up his arms and yelled "hey!" He walked over to me. "So you must be one of the new pretty girls Andy was talking about?"

I blushed and looked away. "I guess."

"Catherine, right?" He asked fussing with his hair.

"Yeah, and you are?" I asked as he moved closer to me.

"Ashley, you know the only really pretty girls that are here are the on that stage. And yet there's one right on front of me." He smiled.

"Are you calling me a dancer?" I asked wondering what he meant.

"No, no, I'm just saying most girls here aren't that hot. You're the only one that's not a dancer." He said.

"Well then thanks I guess." I blushed again.

He looked me up and down. "So, anything you're good at? I mean work wise?"

"I guess I can ...I don't really know." I laughed. "I just kind of stayed home and cleaned the house."

He laughed, "well that won't work here darling." He moved closer to me. "I'm guessing Andy gave you the day off?"

"Yeah."

"Ashley! Quit bugging the poor girl she doesn't want you!" A voice shouted from behind him.

Ashley turned to hit the guy who had shouted at him. He too had long black hair and markings on his skin. "This is Catherine," Ashley introduced me.

"Ohh, you're the new girl!?" He asked, I nodded. "Sweet! I'm Jake." He too looked me up and down. "How'd you end up wondering in here?" He asked.

"I was just looking around and I heard music and saw people so I thought it was something better...than this at least." Ashley laughed.

"Where's the other girl?" Jake asked.

"She's talking with Andy's little brother." I said.

"Making new friends?" Ashley winked at me. "If you ask me we're much better than Zain."

Jake hit him again, obviously from the hit Ashley had meant what he said in a sexual way.

"Ow man! Stop hitting me!" Ashley whined rubbing the spot where Jake had hit him.

"So how do you like it so far?" Jake asked.

"It feels...safe. Like I can do stuff I never could have before in the other camp. I fell more free." I said.

"Like getting up on that stage and dancing?" Ashley winked.

That time I hit him. "No!"

"Aww," Ashley smiled, "don't worry I'll get you up there one day. We have the rest of our lives remember?" He winked.

"I'm gonna go...do something else." I said, Jake laughed.

"See you around." Jake patted my back and Ashely put his hand on his chest and gave me a "I'm hurt!" look.

I walked out to see that the rain had decided to fall. All of the outside stores were forced to close and put all of their merchandise inside. I looked up and closed my eyes feeling the rain on my skin. It felt so good to be able to fell real rain. I wondered if Esther was doing the same thing while Zain laughed at her reaction to the rain.

I looked back in front of me and decided to start my hunt for my new house. It didn't take as long as I thought it would. Out door had a small blue circle in the upper left hand corner, probably there from the people who had recently lived here who couldn't find their house.

When I walked in and didn't see Esther. I figured she was still with Zain. I sat on the empty floor and listened to the rain drip on the roof. It was so peaceful. As I started to drift off to sleep I heard a crash outside my door then screams. I jumped up to see what had happened. I saw Esther sitting on the ground, her hand over her stomach. I went over to her to.

"Esther what happened?!" I cried.

She had no words, all she could do was pull her sticky hand away from her stomach to reveal a small shard of glass plunged into her side forcing blood to ooze out.
