Once I had reached my house I could see where the smoke had covered the walls on the front. I knew I would have to wash the walls so Andy wouldn't ask any questions. It was the same as inside. I flashed back to Esther screaming my name, trying to get out of my room, hearing the people on the other side of the door trying to get us out.

I shook my head exiting my memory. I grabbed a rag and a bucket and filled it with water and soap knowing what I was going to be doing for the rest of the day...cleaning walls. It was somewhat therapeutic, only concentrating on cleaning the walls. I started in my bedroom first realizing that the floors needed some help too. I was cleaning for the better part of five hours when I heard foot steps behind me. I turned to see Ashley standing in the living area.

I stood up and placed the rag in the bucket, "hi."

He turned to me, "hey, how you feeling?"

"Well," I glanced toward the bucket on the far wall. "I found that cleaning calms me down."

He smirked, "yeah, you looked burned." He touched my arm.

I hadn't noticed that my skin was red like a sunburn. "Oh...it's not as bad as Esther's."

He frowned, "you trying to get rid of the smoke lines?"

"Yeah, I don't want Andy to find out." I said.

"Yeah, Jake told me." He paused, "if I were you I'd clean the front wall again."

I had scrubbed that for and hour before I gave up. "Have you seen Esther today?" I asked him.

He nodded his head, "she can barley talk."

"She breathed in a lot of smoke." I informed.

He looked into her bedroom. I hadn't even seen that her room had more smoke stains than the front of the house. There must have been a second fire in her room. Was this a result from someone?

"Catherine..." I knew what he was going to say.

"No! He can't!"

"Someone is trying to kill you! He needs to know so he can do something about it!" He yelled.

"If two people tried to kill us now then that means more want to too." Tears had started to form.

"I'm pretty sure it's only one group of people. And he will be able to talk to the camp!"

I was done hearing what he had to say. I was not in the mode for a yelling competition. "Can I just get back to cleaning?" He huffed and stormed out.

I went back to cleaning as if he had never arrived. I was just finishing the front of the house. When I felt someone breathe on my neck.

"Hey," Andy breathed giving me goose bumps. "Bored?" He grabbed the rag from my hands.

"Um, yeah. Esther got..." what was I going to tell him? "She, had an accident..."

"When? How? What happened?" His eyes begged for answers.

I stood preparing my lie I was about to throw on him. "There was a fire at the doctor, a candle fell and a whole room caught on fire. She ran into the room because there was someone in there." I had to make sure to tell the rest of them my lie so they could go along with it.

"Oh my god!" He backed away. "Is she okay?"

"She has third degree burns on her arms and legs."

"Wow...so is that why you're cleaning?"

"Yeah kind of, it gets my mind on other things, the wall was also really dirty." I smirked.

He took me by by hips and pulled me to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned my head against his chest. He rested his chin on my head. I missed his arms wrapping around me, sure he had only been gone for a week and we had been a thing for only a few days before that, but it already felt like we had been together forever.

"I missed you," he kissed the top of my head.

I hugged him tighter telling him that I missed him too. "So I want to go see how Esther is doing." He pulled away and I grabbed his hand as he lead the way toward the doctor.

Jinxx was still not letting me enter the room to see her but I warned him about my lie without Andy seeing. Jinxx was able to go along with the lie and, from what I could tell, Andy believed it. When I was waiting for Andy to be done Ashley came and asked if he could go in, when I shrugged he just walked in. I could hear Esther's week voice.

"Hi," then I heard Ashley shhsh her. "I'm so happy you were the one who saved me." She talked again.

I had told Ashley to go along with whatever lie I had come up with. "She was trapt in the fire so I got her out." I heard Ashley say, probably to Andy.

"Can you come see me everyday?" Esther asked again.

I didn't hear anything after that. When Andy came out he looked angry. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing," I hated when people did that.

"Obviously something is wrong." I pried.

"It's just...Ashley...I know he's trying to be a man for her. And I know that he likes her. Andy with Zain gone for a few days he can get closer to her." Was he was trying to impress her? I just nodded and took his hand attempting to drag him back to my house with me. "I can't...I have things to get done."

I placed kisses on his face, "I'll come keep you company?" I bit my lip running my mouth over his cheek

He groaned then pushed me away, "maybe another time." He kissed me before leaving the hall.

I dropped my arms to my sides and stared at the door Esther was behind. I wanted so bad to go in there and be by her side. She was there for me when I was trapt in the fire why couldn't I be there for her when she needed help?

When I was out of the hall I couldn't help but think about how Andy had pushed me away. I could have just sat with him. To be honest I would've liked someone to be around right now. I had pushed the thought to the side when my boss for the shop came up to me.

"Hey! When do you think you will be back at work?" She asked, her green eyes searching for an answer that would involve sometime tomorrow.

"I can come in whenever you need me to." I smiled making me sound like a hard worker...or a selfish bitch that didn't care about my friend.

"Great! So bright and early tomorrow morning?" She smiled with her teeth.

"Sure!" i turned around and rolled my eyes wishing I had never had said "whenever you need me."

I didn't know how Andy couldn't have possibly smelled the charred wood that surrounded my house. I walked inside and shut the door. I hadn't realized I didn't eat anything all day. There were only a few hours left of day light and I needed to buy food for the house. We had utterly nothing.

I grabbed a basket and some money and rushed over to the market place before dark. When I had what I would need for the week I was starting my way home. I had stopped rushing and had taken a light pace. But the guy who knocked into me wasn't going slow and steady.

He forced me to throw most of what I had bought out of my hands. He repeatedly said sorry and helped me put everything back in the basket. When we stood to part ways he pulled me close and whispered something that frightened me to my core.

"Watch your back...newbie."
