When my alarm went off, I was already awake from nerves. I woke up about 2 hours before everyone else in the house, so my hair and make up was already done. I sat on my bed biting my nails nervously. What if I get mated to someone abusive? Someone who doesn't want me? I sighed and got up walking out of my room to meet my mother. She smiled at me and held up a beautiful dress.

"Wow momma, are you sure?!" I asked with wide eyes. It was my mothers dress that she wore when she was mated. She nodded and gave it to me.

"Put it on honey, you're going to look marvelous," she said quietly. I grinned nodding and carefully taking it, walking to my room. I put it on and combined it with fishnet tights and combat boots to add a bit of my own style. When I walked out my mother suddenly burst into tears. My eyes widen as I ran over hugging her tight.

"Oh Andy! You're so beautiful and grown up. You don't need your momma anymore," she sniffed then smiled, "my beautiful grown up son. You'll be off with your mate and forget all about me," she sighed. I shook my head.

"Of course I won't momma. I could never forget you. You're my mother, you inspired me to grow up. Don't think for a minute that I'll ever forget about you momma, I love you," I said. She nodded and sniffled pulling away.

"Well we'd better get going, we don't want to be late," she said. I nodded and grabbed my bag, walking out to the car with my mother. Instead of walking, my mom is going to be taking me to school, or rather my ceremony.

As soon as we pulled up to the school, the nervous feeling in my stomach got worse. I bit my lip and turned to my momma, kissing her cheek, "bye momma, I'll see you later okay?" she nodded as I got out and walked inside.

I walked to the auditorium and was directed to sit on the side of the fertiles. I sat looking at the ground and hugging my body. I felt someone sit next to me.

"Andy are you okay?" I looked up to see my other best friend, Chance. I shook my head and lay my head on his shoulder. "what's wrong? Today should be a day that you're excited and happy!" he said. I sighed shaking my head, because there's only one person I want and I now fear that he really will be mated to that witch.

"I'm going to mated to someone awful, because that's just my luck," I said sighing.

"No Andy, I promise you-" he started to say, but got cut off by the principal starting the ceremony. He quickly got everyone to shut up then looked up addressing everyone in the room.

"Welcome to your mating ceremony everyone. Now as you know you're mates were selected special for each and every one of you, and I want you all to know that it is what it is. Okay? Good. Now without further ado I will read out the names," he said. I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes.

I listened as all my friends got mated. It went in alphabetical order by the doms last name, and so far I hadn't been called. Matt had got mated to a fertile named Kellin Quinn. Chance got mated to one of Ashley's friends named Jeremy Ferguson. I bit my lip when they got to 'P', looking at my feet.

"Ashley Purdy, and..." the principal said. I plugged my ears not wanting to hear it. When I looked up everyone was looking at me. What?

"Andy? C'mon..." the principal said. My eyes widened, and I felt numb as I walked down standing next to Ashley. I could feel his anger. I knew he wasn't happy about this. Everyone was staring at me. I felt dizzy. I gripped Ashley's arm, but he shook me off. I stumbled around. Grabbing around the air with tears pouring out of my eyes. I felt myself fall off the stage, and hit my head hard on the wood floor. I saw my own blood, and then blackness.
