Ever since the incident with Savannah, Jinxx had fallen even deeper in infatuation with her. It was as though she had complete control over him, and he was completely okay with it. She could take the reins of his heart and steer him in any direction she pleased, as long as she was in control.

Their manager, Greg, had noticed Jinxx’s change in character whenever Savannah was around.

“Do you like Savannah? I know you guys have been friends for a long time.” Greg asked Jinxx one night when they were closing up together.

Jinxx shrugged. “I don’t know…” He trailed off, trying to avoid telling the truth.
Greg shut the register drawer forcefully and looked at Jinxx. “Come on, there’s something going on between you two. You change around her. You act a lot differently than you used to. What happened last week that made things different?”

Jinxx sighed. “You know Savannah’s boyfriend, Justin, right?”

“Yeah, that piece of shit that beats her? I know him. He’s come in the store a few times and trashed every section he went into. I hate that dick.” Greg complained.

“Well. At least we’re on the same page here.” Jinxx joked, as he picked up the bag of cash from the second register and followed Greg to the back room to put in the safe.

When they arrived in the back room, Greg took the bag from Jinxx and put the money in the safe. “So where was this story about that dick going?” Greg asked as he began filling out some necessary papers that needed to be done every night before during closing.

“Right.” Jinxx remembered. “Well, on my way home last week, I walked by Savannah’s house and Justin had pushed her outside. She was bleeding and he kept beating her. I stopped him and he ran off, but Savannah was unconscious so I tried CPR and—”

“So basically you kissed her and that’s why you act like a lost puppy dog whenever she’s around.” Greg concluded.

Jinxx shrugged. “I guess?”

“I’ll tell you what.” Greg slapped the folder in front of him closed. “You two can close tomorrow. I’ll give Savannah a call in the morning and let her know. Just… No sex until you’re out of here.”

The next day, Savannah came in looking pissed off for one, but also pale and rather sickly. She had a visible dark circle on her cheek despite her efforts to cover it up with makeup.

“What’s wrong with you?” Jinxx asked, when Savannah plopped her bag down on the floor behind the register counter.

“Fuckin Greg deciding to randomly take a personal day and making me close tonight.” She groaned, stripping her jacket off and dropping that on the floor as well. At this point, she could care less about her belongings. Nothing in her life was alright, so why should her possessions matter to her?

When Jinxx had finished with his customer, he picked up her jacket and bag and set them on the back counter for her.

She gave him a weak smile, and dragged her feet on the floor as she made her way over to the Country section to clean up the disheveled CD’s. Jinxx watched her as she walked away. It was hard to watch her act so zombie-like. She wasn’t just dead inside; she was dead on the outside now as well.

The next few hours flew by and before he knew it, it was time to close up.

“Hey Savvy, are there any customers in the store?” He called out to her.

She appeared from behind a wall and looked at him with one eyebrow cocked. “Firstly, no. Secondly, Savvy? What the fuck kind of a name is that?” She laughed.

“What, you don’t like it? I thought it was cute…” Jinxx admitted.

Savannah shook her head and patted Jinxx’s shoulder. “It was cute.” She laughed, and started counting the backup register.

As the two were counting the cash drawers, Jinxx took the opportunity to ask her what he had been waiting to ask all day. “You’re not doing anything after work, are you?”

Savannah smiled down at the empty register drawer. “Actually, yeah.” She looked up just in time to see the smile fade from Jinxx’s lips. “I’m going out with a super cute guy tonight.”

“Oh… Who?” Jinxx asked even though he was sure he wouldn’t want to know the answer.

“Jinxx.” She stated, and he looked up. “It’s you, you idiot.” She laughed, pecking a kiss on his cheek as she walked by.

He watched her walk away, her hips swaying back and forth to the music that was still playing over the speakers.

I am so sorry it's been so long since I updated this. Like I said, college....

So anyway, I'm probably going to sound like a whiny bitch but I've noticed a lot of people have been doing this whole requested one shot thing on their own and idk it just kinda bothers me only because I started it first and I was the one who came up with the idea and I would kinda like recognition for the idea. Like okay I get that it's not really plagiarism because the one shots are obviously going to be different than mine (I would hope so anyway) but idk it just kinda bothers me. Idk if you can see where I'm coming from here but yeah. At the same time though, they're probably not as gr219037218 as me and I've even noticed that none of the alternative one-shot request stories are as popular as mine which means I'm still queen of this website yolo swag
