Morgan:











Morgan was notorious for sneaking out at night. She liked the thrill and the adrenaline rush of doing things that weren’t necessarily approved by her parents. And now she had met Andy who was also notorious for being a rebel like her. They were a match made in heaven.

At the stroke of midnight, Morgan looked out her window to see a pair of headlights show up outside her house. She knew it was Andy. She cracked open the window and hopped off the window sill. She wanted to have fun, and so did Andy.

“Where to m’lady?” Andy asked as Morgan slid into the passenger’s seat.

“Anywhere but here.” She said. “Ooh. Let’s go to the city. It’s only a twenty minute drive. Besides, the city is much more exciting than this shit hole.”

Andy nodded in agreement. “Let’s do it up.” He revved his engine before speeding down the empty street.

When they arrived in the city, Andy parked his car in his dad’s parking garage. He had stolen the keys from his dad before he left, just in case.

The two wandered out of the musty cement building and onto fresh, city streets. The lights shone, the cars drove fast, and everyone seemed so alive.

“Come with me.” Andy grabbed Morgan’s hand and pulled her down an alley way. At the very end was a chain-link fence, separating the grungy alley from the back of a nightclub building. “I bet I can sneak us in.”

It sounded dangerous and rebellious. Morgan was all in. Andy led her to the chain-link fence where he helped her start to climb up. She had almost made it to the top when they heard a voice shouting from down the alley. Andy was about half way up the fence when a beam of light hit him square in the back.

“You two get down from there!” The voice shouted.

“Cops!” Andy confirmed.

Morgan could feel the adrenaline racing through her veins as she struggled to crawl up the last bit of fence left. She swung her legs over and hopped down only to find out that Andy was still on the other side.

“Andy, come on!” She encouraged, starting to climb back up to help him over.

He reached for her outstretched hands and grasped onto her tightly. With all the strength she had, she pulled him up and over the fence. He kissed her cheek quickly before grabbing her hand and running with her away from the barrier separating them from authority.

They looked around only to realize that this wasn’t the back of a nightclub. It was just some abandoned brick building. “Well, shit.” Andy said, resting his hands on his knees and trying to catch his breath.

“Come on.” Morgan grabbed Andy’s arm and pulled him along, jogging around to the side of the building. On the ground lay a discarded can of spray paint. Morgan spotted it and picked it up. She tested it out on the wall, and found there was still some left.

In curly letters, she wrote her name across the side of the wall and handed the can off to Andy. Underneath her name, he wrote his own. Beneath his name, he scrawled the words, “Stay Young.”

God, the amount of one-shots I have to write right now makes me want to curl up in a ball and cry for three years. I'm working through them all, I promise. I'm just feeling a little stressed right now because I'm in between jobs, and I need to find a new one, and I need money for my car, and I have to figure out how I'm getting to college if I have no car, and just life.
