Well, America is much the same way. We have many different accents that can sometimes originate one right on top of the other. We'll use the Deep South, which is where I'm from, for the example here. We all have thick, "redneck" accents, but each state has its own variations. Tennessee and Texas both use hard vowels, states like Georgia and Louisiana have thick, syrupy drawls. Tennesseans actually have a bit of a thick, syrupy drawl, but still throw in the hard vowels, too. However, I've heard people say that folks from places like Missouri (which is more Midwest than not) have a bit of a Southern twang to their voices. Trust me, the day I hear someone like Ashley Purdy mimic the same accent I use, especially when pissed or otherwise emotional, like he was born, bred, and raised here in the Deep South...well, that'll happen when monkeys fly outta my ass. *shrugs*

I'm not so sure that This is Gonna Hurt could possibly do much to change my perspective on things. I already don't see things the way most people do, and I tend to find beauty in things that most others don't. Although I can have a superficial moment from time to time, I usually see what's on the inside and that's what I always base my final judgments on.

lol im like that with sid glover (guitarist for heaven's basement) lol, he used to live next town over from me, but the kettering accent is alot different from the wellingborough one lol, well mine is anyway lol, i have a thick welly accent sometimes, especially when ive been around my nan lol, same with matt smith too (11th doctor) hes from the next town over too, but different town lol but hes posh lol, went to the poshest school in the county so he sound really posh to me lol, even out of charactor lol, and this is gonna hurt is deffo worth a read when you get a chance, itll change your whole perspective on things

@chipmunkcalling
I admit that I haven't gotten the money or chance to get a copy of the book This is Gonna Hurt, but I do have the album. Based on that, I think the book is something I'd enjoy if I could ever get a copy of it. *shrugs*

When I want to, I can have a thick, almost syrupy east Tennessean drawl because half my family's from Tennessee and we only live one state away now. We don't pronounce words like "fire" and "tired" the way most do, and there's a shit ton of hard vowels, like a Texan's accent. James Michael seems to have those characteristics because I can mimic his accent while singing perfectly. Then again, maybe that's my overactive imagination messing with me...

@AmbrosiaBelle
he does have a nice accent, not sure where abouts hes from tho, and my ex leant me the book while our son was in hospital, and told me about sixx:am and im hooked lol, i love both books and albums

@chipmunkcalling
I introduced myself to Sixx: A.M. after listening to mid-late 80s Crue too much and reading Nikki's first book, The Heroin Diaries. The crazy part...I sound almost identical to James Michael (the M in the band name) if I put my mind to it while singing a Sixx: A.M. song... I guess that's partly due to the fact that I'm from the same region of America as he is, unless I'm mistaken. If I am mistaken, then I have no idea where he gets his accent from... *scratches head*

@AmbrosiaBelle
nikki is pretty awesome, one of my exs introduced me to his other band, sixx:am, and cant get enough of them, cant wait for the next album to come out

@chipmunkcalling
The only Def Leppard songs I know off the top of my head are Foolin', Hysteria, and Pour Some Sugar on Me. They're pretty good songs, but other than that, I don't listen to them. I'm more of a Crue/Poison fan myself, even though I know those two bands were practically mortal enemies back in the day. Nothing like some Dr. Feelgood and Nothing but a Good Time to brighten one's day, if you ask me, and Nikki's a personal inspiration of mine.

a little niceness is always good and yup heard of def leppard, never really listened to em tho, more queen, dire straits and pink floyd fan, was bort up with them, and can just about get away with a bit of crue lol

@chipmunkcalling
Well, I don't really pay much attention to American music unless it's hard rock, heavy metal, or a thing called 80s hair metal (a good example of a foreign band from that time you'd prolly know would be Def Leppard). I sometimes mix in a bit of more modern country, but otherwise, I don't listen to anything but those three genres.

The only reason I stumbled across Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, and others like them was because of a personal reason I won't go into full detail about. Suffice it to say that I kept seeing them mentioned and wanted to check them out.

As for the premature birth thing...I was feeling a bit bitchy when I wrote that part, and I guess I took it out on my character. But then again, he'd already been through a full-term pregnancy he knew about and another he didn't...it was time to really shake things up. Considering how I chose to shake things up, I felt like I couldn't make their final baby suffer through every complication in the book...I had to be nice somewhere...

@AmbrosiaBelle
i hope so, and yeah probably not, i know like within temptation, who i think are bigger than nightwish over there, im in england, but yeah i know that when they asked xzibit to collab with them on and we run he had no idea who they were, so its probably the same with alot of european bands, who make it overe here but not over there, also i hope you do write some more stories simmilar, youve made mpregs not boring lol, also the whole premature thing bort back some nice memories from when my son was born 7 weeks early, itsgood that you have tackled that issue too, that not all premees die or are seriously ill right from birth, my son was one of the lucky ones in that respect, only had to be on cpap for less than a day and few hours of phototherapy for slight jaundice, hes now a healthy threenager lol

@chipmunkcalling
Seriously. When I put my mind to it, I can actually sing Taikatalvi pretty well from memory, even though I was born, bred, and raised in America... Oh, shit...I wasn't supposed to let out the secret that I was a killer vocalist... *facepalms*

Anywhore, as I state in the Author's Note, the opinion that I gave Andy is my own; make no mistake about that. While you and I seem to share a similar opinion of Nightwish and their last two albums, I dunno if Andy's ever heard of this band, much less listened to their works. If he has, I dunno what his opinion is; if he hasn't it's doubtful he'd have an opinion about something he doesn't even realize exists.

I'm just glad you enjoyed this series as much as you did. I actually tried writing this particular book differently and found that I couldn't do it. I had to delete it and start from scratch and, well...what you see is what you've got. I may or may not write other stories that have nothing to do with this that you might like in the future, though.
