“Hey are you going to Andy’s gig this weekend?” Karissa asks me as I walk into the girls’ locker room Friday.
“Yea, why?” I ask as I open up my locker.
“You think you can swing by and pick me up?” she asks. “My parents won’t let me borrow the car.”
“Sure, why not.” I chuckle. “I’m picking up Taylor anyway. So text me your address and I’ll pick you up.”
“Thank you so much!” She squeals before attacking me with a hug then walking away. I shake my head before I begin to get changed for class.
I walk out of the locker room and find Andy awkwardly standing alone; Karissa and Taylor must be still getting ready. I walk up behind him and wrap my arms around his waist. He jumps a little before turning towards me. “Hey rockstar.” I verbally greet as he turns around and pulls me into a hug. “What’s up?”
“Dreading gym class.” he chuckles. “This class should be illegal in all fifty states.”
“I agree with you on that one.” I chuckle as I pull away from him. “But just think, tonight you’ll be rocking out which is always better than running a mile in gym.”
“This is very much true.” He laughs as Karissa and Taylor walk up to us.
“Are you ready to die?” Taylor asks. “Because I’m not.”
“I don’t think any of us truly are.” I laugh as our gym teacher calls us over for role call.

“That was cruel and unusual punishment!” I exclaim as I basically collapse onto the gym floor after coming in from our mile long run.
“No kidding.” Andy says as he sits down next to me, using my back as a pillow. Taylor and Karissa soon follow suite.
“It also doesn’t help we had this RIGHT after lunch.” Karissa adds to the conversation. “Shit is unacceptable!”
“Get up off the floor and do something!” Our gym teacher yells at us. “This is gym, not study hall.”
“We just ran a mile!” I exclaim. “Why don’t you go do something!?” He glares at me before walking away, causing the rest of us to laugh. “Is school over with yet?”
“Two more period.” Andy groans. “Today needs to hurry the fuck up!” He exclaims, causing the whole gym to grow silent.
“No cursing Bierack!” We hear the gym teacher yell. Andy just mocks salutes him before burying his face into my back.
“Wake me up when school ends.” He mutters into my back. I just laugh before talking to Karissa and Taylor about random things and what time I should pick them up at. Tonight was going to be amazing.
