I walk through the student parking lot, just in time to see Annabel pull in; Alkaline Trio playing loud enough for her to earn glares from some students. I shake my head as a smirk appears on my lips. She was definitely something else.

As I walk into the courtyard, I hear a female squeal my name before I feel someone jump onto my back. “Hey stranger!” The voice says. I instantly know it’s Karissa. She jumps down from my back and I pull her into a hug. “I didn’t see you yesterday.” She pouts. “It sucks not having classes with you.”

“I know, it does.” I agree. “Hey when you do have gym?”

“After lunch on Fridays.” she replies. “You?”

“Same. Same goes with Taylor and our newest member of the group, Annabel.” I reply, just as I see Taylor and Annabel walking into the courtyard. Annabel is the first to spot me then drags Taylor over as they walk near us.

“Good morning sunshine.” Annabel smiles before pulling me into a hug. “And hi girl I don’t know.” She says as we part.

“I’m Karissa.” Karissa says introducing yourself. “You must be Annabel.”

“Yea, that would be me.” She smiles just as the warning bell rang, causing all of us to groan.

“Well it’s off to English.” I say to Annabel.

“Oh fun.” She mutters as we start towards the classroom. “Are you actually going to talk to me this time?” She asks with a chuckle.

“Of course.” I smile as we walk into the class and we talk to the back of the room and take our seats.

The morning actually flew up and it’s already lunch time. I sat down in front of Andy as he wrote in the same tablet from yesterday. “What do you keep writing in that tablet?” I ask, causing Andy to snap his head up.

“Song lyrics.” He replies before returning to his attention to the tablet.

“You in a band or something?” I chuckle.

“Yea, I started it two years ago.” He replies. “We’re not big or anything, we just play a few clubs now and again.”

“Does this band have a name?”

“Yea, Black Veil Brides.” He smiles proudly like any parent would when they are talking about their baby.

“I like it.” I smile. “It’s very different.”

“Thanks.” He says as his smile grows wider. “We actually have a gig this weekend if you’re interested in going.”

“I’d love to.” I tell him. “Just give me a place and time and I’ll be there.” He just smiles as Taylor and Karissa walk towards us then we talk about random things for the rest of the lunch period. I was really beginning to like it here…
