Birthday: part 2
" I've got a gun in my hand but the gun won't cock! My fingers on the trigger but that trigger seems locked, I can't stop staring at the tick tock clock and even if I could I would never give up!" I cheered along with everyone else In the crowd feeling all my worries simply disappear.
After hanging out with the band for a few minutes, and many arguments with jinxx, he let me go into the crowd while they sat backstage, I couldn't just see my favorite band live and not go in the crowd. That was the best part.
They've played basically the whole everything went numb album, which was the first one I heard of them 8 years ago, and a few others off the newer ones. My feet killed, my hair and body were covered in god knows how many other people's sweat but, I didn't care.
" shit this crowds fucking amazing!" Tom , the lead signer/ guitarist, shouted once the song ended.
The whole crowd including my self cheered.
" we'll we have 1 more song, but before we play it we want to talk about it for a second that okay ?" The crowd cheered again and the band laughed
" that's good because you really didn't have a choice" Matt , the tenor sax player said.
I laughed
"so we have a special friend here tonight, who was backstage , but transferred to the crowd, where are you Jess?" He asked looking around. I awkwardly raised his hand and everyone looked at me.
I was towards the front but not exactly at the barrier.
" ah! There you are!" He shouted.
" we'll Jess is a very special friend of streetlights, she's been listening to us since she was 8! How awesome is that?!" Matt shouted and the crowd cheered
" recently Jessica's parents passed away in a car crash, we can only imagine what she's going through so we want to play her favorite song, that okay?!" Tom asked and I heard the crowd cheer loud and felt some people rub my shoulder.
I stared up at them and Tom gave me a smile.
" great! Also almost forgot she turned 18 today! So let's make this song the best song ever got it?!" He shouted again. " this songs called a better place a better time"
The lights dimmed and the bass intro came in. I smiled and sung the words feeling all the pain come off my chest as the song went on, and at that moment I didn't care about anything.
The song ended and I cheered feeling sweaty and tired
. " thank you LA and happy birthday Jess we love you goodnight!" Tom screamed and the band ran off stage
. I smiled and immediately started walking to the exit my shirt covered in sweat and my body aching like crazy, but it was the best feeling ever.
Once I got into the cool night air I sighed in relief. I looked around unsure of where to go, I had no phone so I started off towards the back when I saw everyone walk out the door. I smiled and ran to them.
" holy shit ! That was so good!" John yelled and I laughed
" I agree I had so much fun!"
Jinx looked at me and laughed
" you look like shit" I pouted and flipped him off
" not my fault I just bathed in like 1000 peoples sweat" I muttered and Ashley laughed quickly kissing my head but moved away coughing.
" shit you reak"
I groaned and slapped his chest playfully
" yeah yeah I know,can we go home? I really want a shower so I stop getting made fun of for my odar" I groaned and they all laughed before nodding
" yeah let's go" Andy said taking off to the car.
" that was such an amazing show though" cc said as we got to the car
" yeah they really are good" Jake added. I nodded smiling as I slipped into shot gun.
Jinxx got in the drivers seat as the others piled in the back. The ride back was quiet except the occasional chatter. When we got back to the house I got out my feet aching.
" Jesus my feet hurt" I wined and jinxx laughed walking up the steps and unlocking the door the others following behind us.
" could have sat back stage with us" andy sang and I looked at him.
He laughed again and messed my hair up walking the kitchen.
" go shower smelly". Cc called out and I stuck my tongue out at them before walking up stairs.
After I grabbed clean clothes I went into the bathroom and stripped out of my streetlight shirt. It stuck To me as I took it off. I choked at the smell and tossed it in the hamper next to the sink.
I peeled off my jeans adding them to the hamper and got in the shower letting the cold water soothe my scalp and sweaty body. I smiled as I washed over my arms nothing but scars, slightly faded Scars.
I've been clean about 1 week and I already felt way better.
after 30 minutes I turned the shower off and dried off before putting on one of Ashley's outlaw shirts and a pair of black and grey plaid pajama pants. I brushed out my damp hair and looked in the mirror, my hazel eyes finally weren't fogged with depression, I'm the happiest I've been in awhile and I think it suited me.
I shut the light off and opened the door looking around the brown hallway. I heard loud talking downstairs and chuckled silently walking towards the stairs.
All of the sudden I felt someone grab my arm. I let out a small yelp being caught of gaurd as the person yanked me into the room and pressed me against the door.
" what the fuck?!" I whispered to Ashley who stood in front of me smirking.
" what?" He asked smirking I shook my head just as he reached down and kissed my lips.
" I wanted you to come in my room" he said against my lips as I chuckled again.
" you could have asked" I said again and I felt him smirk as he kissed my neck and wrapped his arms around my waist slightly lifting my shirt up so his cold hand touched my warm skin sending a shiver up my spine.
" that's not fun" he mumbled He suddenly picked me up and fell on to the bed on top of me kissing my lips. I smiled into the kiss and put one of my hands in his hair just as the door opened. "
hey I heard a scream ever- ash stop raping her" Ashley rolled off me quickly and we looked at jinxx who was in the doorway. My face turned red and Ashley shook his head flipping him off propping himself up on his elbow.
" fuck off man" Jinxx laughed and shook his head.
After a few seconds of awkward silence jinxx coughed.
" I'm gana go downstairs.. No.. Uh .just Keep your clothes on please" he said awkwardly before walking out the door closing it again. I looked over to Ashley who smirked and leaned over kissing me again.
" we'll he just ruined my night" he mumbled against my lips. I shook my head and slapped his chest playfully.
" oh I'm just kidding , calm down " he said kissing me again before laying down bringing me close to him and kissing my head.
" so did you have a good birthday?" He asked and I nodded.
" yes, I really like the tattoo"
" good, I thought you'd like it, I also got you one more present but it's not something you can hold" I raised my eyebrows
" what is it?" I sat up and he followed my actions
" we'll.. Since we leave for tour in a week, jinxx is letting you take the week off since you can't come with us."
" wait! He's letting me skip school for a week?" He nodded I wrapped my arms around his waist and I felt his chest rubble with laughter as he kissed my head
. " indeed he is, I figured if I can't see you for 3 months than I should be able to spend a whole week with you"
" than you thank you" I said and he laughed again. I couldn't explain how happy I was. Even though I couldn't go on tour , just getting to skip a week of school to spend time with then was enough.
"Your welcome"
I smiled into his chest and looked up at him. His chocolate brown eyes sparkled as he looked into mine.
" I love you so much Ashley" His pink lips turned into a smile before they connected with mine in a passionate kiss.
" I love you too Jess, happy birthday"
He laid down and brought me close to him so my head was on his chest.
I smiled as I heard his heart beat and felt his warm breath on the top of my head while he rubbed circles into my back. And right then and there I decided it had been the best birthday I've ever had.
