Time lapse to 10pm same day

VALEREY’S POV
As I walked into our house, Jinxx led me out the back door. I just want t sit on our couch and lounge around... I was caught off guard by the rose petals and candles everywhere. It was beautiful, but soon my mind slipped into fear as I thought about what this could and probably did mean. He was gonna ask me to be his fiancé and I didn’t know if I could say yes. What if I didn’t say yes? Would he leave me believing he had wasted his time on me? I wasn’t ready for this at all

“Are you just gonna stand in the doorway all night?” Jinxx asks

“Uh, no, sorry” I say as I walk over to where he was seated on the blanket in the grass.
All I could think about was him leaving. It was the only thing running through my head and it’s times like these that I wish I could trust without worry of being fooled.
We sit down and eat what looked like a very expensive dinner and dessert and afterwards, he pops the question

He gets down on one knee and pulls out the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen. It was so me. “Valerey, will you marry me?” he asks and I hesitate, the thoughts from earlier that night flooding my mind again


JINXX’S POV

“Will you marry me?” I ask and I see tears start to well up in her eyes

“Jeremy, I-I’m” She says and she starts crying

“Just say yes” I say and she gives me a look that makes me worry

She takes a deep breath “I’m sorry, Jeremy, but no”

“What?” I say standing up and I can feel the tears start “Why?”

“I just can’t, I’m not ready for that yet. I know that this means you want to stay with me forever, but I can’t help but doubt it. The few times in my life that have ever seemed good and like my life was gonna stay that way, something horrible always happens and I don’t want that. I’m afraid I’ll lose you”

“Valerey, I promise I won’t ever leave you, I love you” I say as I hug her and she starts crying “Just take a chance, please”

She looks up at me “Jeremy” she says and then closes her eyes and takes another breath “I will”

“D-does that mean you’re saying yes?”

“Yes”
