Audrey's POV
I was gently being shook. I groaned and turned over, finding my head against something other than a bed or pillow. I fluttered my eyes open, realizing I was laying against Jakes chest.
"Good morning, Audrey. We've gotta get up, it's time to go," he said quietly, his voice still thick with sleep and raspy. He carefully brushed back a strand of my bangs. "Come on, Audrey," he said as he shook me again.
"Ten more minutes," I mumbled as I tightened my hold in him.
He quietly laughed and sat up, taking me with him. He put a hand on each of my shoulders and turned me toward him. He looked directly into my eyes, "Come on now, I don't want to move either, but we've got a battle to win."
I untangled myself from Jake and crawled out of bed. I glanced around at my surroundings...I wasnt in the infirmary. "Jake? Where are we?"
"Oh...this is-uh...my room. You started falling asleep last night at the meeting and since you aren't injured anymore, I figured you wouldn't want to stay in the infirmary. I just decided to take you to bed...and this way I wouldn't have to find you in the morning."
"Oh-uh...thanks." Jake nodded. "Well, I'm gonna go back there to get Blair and get some clothes."
"Blair and CC are in the living room, Blair is packing supplies and CC brought over the bag of clothes. Now, come on, get up. We've got a long day."

Jake stood up and pulled off his black beater, exposing his bare back to me. Oh good lord, he is more physically attractive than I thought...he had a very muscular back. He stretched his shoudlers, only accenting more. Jake turned around as he pulled on his black leather combat vest on.
"What?" he laughed.
"Oh nothing...you just...you're just...nothing. It's nothing." I said as the heat of embarrassment flooded into my pale face. He laughed again and walked out of the room. I saw the bag of clothes sitting by the closed door. I rummaged through it until I pieced together a good outfit. The legion had stressed that I needed to wear all black.

I happiest that yesterday I had built a chest protector out of chain I had found. This way if the Shadows attempted to hit my chest, side, or lower back it'd be impossible to wound me. I tucked my BVB rosary into my shirt, Jake was still the only one who knew I had it. I wasn't supposed to have it. Women weren't supposed to have one. Yet again, women weren't supposed to fight. Look at me...I finished getting dressed and did some heavy black eye liner, I had a mask, so my face would be protected. I braided my hair to side, making sure it would stay out of my way. I pinned it in a few places and then walked into the living area. Everyone was gathered, packing the last of supplies. We would spend one night in the desert, pausing a mile from the tower, to rest, and then attack in the morning, going to entire way home that tomorrow. It was five miles to the tower. Ashley I could see was checking me out, and I rolled my eyes, then realized just about every guy except CC was looking at me.
"I'm not a piece of meat for inspection," I snarled as I picked up my weapons. I carried a femer with a spike in the end, and three daggers that were constructed of sharpened bone. I tucked the daggers into my downward facing belt loops, and strapped the spiked club to a holster across my back.
"Here we go guys," Andy said.

We all filed down the stairs. Jake was behind me once again. We continued to the gate of the camp, where the men had assembled.
Andy lead us to the front of the group. "Men, today, today is the day that we've been waiting hoping, preparing for. Today we will tear down the cross of FEAR, splintering it into shards that will lay before our feet. We are the new Trojan horse, burning away everything to free our fallen brothers from shackles. Shadows will die, and we will return our life. Their church of lies can't tell us what is right. This victory inside will live on, even if we don't. We live this war of wisdom. The streets will be stained with the blood that ran their kingdom and feed the beast thats beneath our treason! Let Shadows Die!! We are rebels, deviants, wild ones. We will litter the streets with the bones of shadows! We will analiate the dangerous ideas endanging freedom and poisoning your minds! KILL THE SHADOWS!"
"KILL THE SHADOWS!" the group yelled.
"Let's go men!" Andy yelled.

Jake reached over and grabbed my hand, holding it, gently squeezing my knuckles. He glanced over, concern in his eyes. "Jake, I'll be OK...I can handle myself."
"I know...I just don't want to lose you too."
I squeezed his hand as I asked beside him, Continueing to hold his hand.

Blairs POV
I walked next to CC, with his arm wrapped loosely around my waist. I leaned slightly against him as we began the long trek through the desert. Sand blurred into sand, and soon the camp was too distant to see. I felt slightly open, as I didn't possess any weapon. CC swore he would protect me at all cost. I was glad though, that I wasnt left back at thr camp with the old women and children. The sun pounded down on my skin, and I could already feel the light burn setting in. I adjusted my mask, making sure that most of my face was covered correctly. I was lucky that most of the men had longer hair too, so I was able to blend in easier, since apparently Shadows preyed on women. I glanced over, Jake and Audrey were holding...holding hands? What? I whispered to CC, "I thought they agreed to stop being like that since Jake is looking for Ella?"
"They are both going through a lot right now, Blair. I think they just need support, and they've only really got each other right now. They are adults, they will figure it out."

Andy called that we were almost halfway there. Thank god, we could take a break in about another half a mile. I was getting hungry and I kinda of needed to pee. What the hell was I supposed to do if I needed to pee? there was no coverage for miles...guess I'll have to grab a cloak or something. We continued walking, the sun blistering down on us. Finally Andy pulled the backpack off his shoulders and stopped as he dropped it to the ground.
"Alright wild ones, we will pause for a short time to rest and eat. Make use of your time, we will not stop again till tight falls or we reach or attack locations. It is a little past noon." Andy pulled out a jug of water and took a few careful sips. CC and I sat down on the hot sand and he pulled out a few containers of dried fruits and cured meat. I looked over, Jake and Audrey doing the same. I picked up a dried piece of fruit and popped it in my mouth, it had been cured with sugar. Yum. I talked a bit with CC, carrying on a funny conversation about when. He first discover his super strength and accidentally broke his mothers table. I cracked up laughing, when I heard a shout.
"SHADOW!"

I looked over, just as CC jumped up and took a protective stance in front of me. I could barely make out what was happening, it was all happening too fast for me. Three Shadows, one must have realized Audrey was there. It was fighting with her as Jake rushed forward to attack it. Suddenly a shadow dashed toward me and CC punched it in the mask, shattering it as the shadow fell backward. Men rushed forward and began to stab it as it shrieked in pain, blood pouring from the mouth of the mask. I heard a shrill scream.
I turned back. Jake was jumping through the air, hand outstretched as Shadow grabbed Audrey...disappearing. Jake fell to the ground where it had been just a second before. he collapsed. "NOO, NOO, not her! God DAMMIT!" he said as he layed face first in the sand, as he pounded one hand into the dirt. I looked to CC, the shadow at his feet was dead, Audrey was missing, and no other shadow was in sight. I rushed over to Jake who was still in the sand, now crying.
"Jake! Jake, it's OK we will find her!"
Andy rushed over as well, picking up Jake as he collapsed into Andy's arms. Andy wrapped an arm around him. "It's alright man, we will get her back, I promise. We know where she is. She will be in the tower. We will free her."

My chest ached, Audrey was gone...the shadows had her...

I'm watching Legion of the black again so I was like, Yeahhh I need to update this again will ideas are burning fresh in my head. I here you like :)

i will now go update my other story I'm a Loaded gun and I'll work on Worth fighting for maybe lae tonight or tomorrow, not sure yet.
