Diamonds

The world was closing in on you. The pressure over your chest was unbearable. And there was only pressure now. Pressure and emptiness. You slowly stripped out of your jacket, leaving it behind you as you neared the fence. You’d been contemplating this for weeks now. The cold night wind was giving you gooseflesh, but you barely noticed. An odd sense of calm washed over you as you shakily climbed over the edge, holding onto it as you looked down at the water. Yes. The height was definitely enough to kill you. You took a last look at the world in front of you when you heard someone shout.

“Hey! Wait, don’t jump!” The voice was distant, and you didn’t acknowledge it as you let go of the rail with one hand.

“Lady, please!” you heard faintly before you closed your eyes, let go and fell. “Shit!”

The next thing you knew you were incredibly uncomfortable. Something was pulling you out of the water with a strong grip around your chest. Someone, you realised. But everything was blurry and you soon blacked out again.

Next time you woke up it was to a piercing loud noise and blinding blue flashing lights.
“Hey,” a male voice sounded and a rough hand pushed some hair out of your face. His face was still not clear to you but you thought you knew it from somewhere.
I know you, you wanted to speak, but the only thing that came out was a terrible cough, and water. Lots of water.

Slowly you started to regain your consciousness and realised what was going on. You had just failed a suicide attempt, been pulled up by a member of Black Veil fucking Brides, and he had called an ambulance.

“Shit…” you muttered to no one as the two ambulance staff carried you into the vehicle. The man who had saved you looked at you with concern in his eyes. “Jinxx?” you mumbled and thought you saw his expression change before the doors closed between you.
