Snake bites and blood kisses

We made it to class the second the tardy bell rang. We both laughed as we stopped to catch our breath.
“Miss Raven! I am glad you actually made it on time.” The teacher looked up from her desk. “You must be Mr Biersack. Is that correct?”
“I uh. Yes ma’am.” Andy cleared his throat.
“Well, since you and Raven know each other well, I see no problem with you two being lab partners.” She said and looked back at her paperwork. I smiled and grabbed Andy’s hand, pulling him towards our table. My last lab partner moved schools, so I have been doing my work by myself. Luckily, I am able to do many things on my own, so this was a piece of cake.
“Look at you two, making it a second early to class.” Missa giggled looking at us. She sat on the lab table in front of us. She offered to switch tables to be with me, but the teacher did not allow it.
“Hush!” Andy chuckled. Missa giggled rolling her eyes.
“Hey, congrats on becoming captain!” Missa said.
“Missa, you don’t even keep up with football, how are you to know about this?”
“Rumors fly around, Raven.” She smiled. “How is Jack taking it?”
“Surprisingly well.” I nodded.
“Okay kids, today we will be calculating mass and density.” Every student groaned.
“I know, I know. You are dying to get started.” The teacher smiled as she started handing out our worksheet. “We have a new student, and I am guessing you all know because you keep track of the new gossip at this school.” She nodded. “Mr. Biersack, quick introduction please.”
Andy coughed and nodded.
“I um sure. Um. I am Andy Biersack. Um I and a senior, and I am now football captain. Um. I like music as well, and plan to be in a band someday. If not, maybe do something else.” He smiled. Almost every girl and guy stared in awe at Andy. I know because I found myself staring too. I cleared my throat and blinked as I took my seat.
“Thank you Andy. Now, everyone. Get to work.” The teacher nodded and went back to her desk. I looked up at Andy.
“Do you know how to calculate moles?” I asked. He nodded.
“I know enough to pass this class.” He smiled.
“Oh okay.” I smiled back. “So, tell me about your last school.” I asked.
“Well, my last school was my last school.” He chuckled. He sounded nervous.
“Well, yeah, but like. How was it. Did you have a girlfriend?” I asked.

“Andy? Earth to Andy!” I heard Raven.
“Huh?” I blinked twice before I realized what was happening.
“I asked if you had a girlfriend.”
“I um. I did actually. But, something happened, and we weren’t able to be together again.”
“What happened?”
“Well, a friend had passed away, and she was too hurt about it.”
“That sounds to me like she was with that she might have been with that friend of yours.” She looked at me tilting her head.
“She probably was.”
“Do you have a picture of her?”
“I might, let me see.” I took out my phone, the one I just got from Amy and Chris. I went onto Juliet’s old instagram and showed Raven one of the pictures that did not involve blood and guts.
“Oh. She is very pretty.” Raven said. I shrugged.
“I’ve seen better.” I smiled and looked at her. She looked up at me. I nodded. She slapped my arm and smirked.
“Shut up.” She mumbled. I chuckled.
