Snake bites and blood kisses

I looked outside the math class window. I sighed as I my mind wandered off.
“Okay, now that the exponents are all together, let’s multiply!” The teacher chimed. I sighed as i looked at my paper.
Okay, two times eight to the power of four… eight thousand one hundred ninety two. I wrote my answer down.
I started working on the other problems, until the phone rang. I looked up as the teacher answered the phone. Silence invaded the classroom. The teacher nodded and hung up. Her eyes darted towards me. I looked at her.
“Raven, you are needed at the principal’s office.”
The class turned their eyes at me. I quickly packed up my things and walked out the door.
“Raven!” The principal happily greeted me.
“Good afternoon Mr Albury.”
“So I hear you have the preparations for the dance?”
“Yes sir.” I said as I handed him my notebook. “As you can tell, I asked for a donation from the restaurant down the street. The DJ is a student here. Jonah. I did auditions, and he was the best one with the best music interests. He was willing to do it if he got some help with his attendance.”
“Well, that is somehow illegal, but I’ll see what I can do.” I smiled.
“Okay, the cheer squad is in charge of the drinks and the basketball team offered to help with the decorations.” I smiled.
“Is it because of their height?” He laughed. I giggled.
“Well, the captain did say that.” I cleared my throat. “Since there is a belief that vampires once roamed these halls, I decided to do a vampire theme. It was also mostly voted by the students.” I opened the school’s website and shower Mr Albury. He smiled.
“Once again, you surprise me with your intelligence!” He chuckled.
“I enjoy working on these types of things.” I smiled.
“Well, I have a new project for you.”
“Which is?”
“Your boyfriend, Mr Jackson. I need you to tell him that he is no longer the football team captain.”
I blinked.
“Wait, what?” He smiled and nodded.
“The new student showed potential, and is now taking Jackson’s place.”
“But it’s only his first day.”
“We looked him up. He could make our school look good.” He chuckled. I nodded.
“Very well Mr Albury.” I placed all my things back into my bag. “I forgot to mention that the decorations arrive today after school.”
“Can you be in charge of that? Mr Biersack has volunteered to help.” He smiled.
“Of course.” I smiled.
I excused myself and exited his office. I don’t know how to tell Jackson his position was taken away from him. He already hates Andy for the dumb posts on twitter.
Speaking of the devil.
“Hey beauty!” Jackson tackled me. I gasped.
“Jack!” I took a deep breath.
“What did the big man want?” He asked.
“He was wondering about the preparations for the dance.” I smiled.
“What did he think?”
“He liked my progress.”
“Why wouldn’t he? He got the best party planner ever!” I laughed nervously.
“Speaking of party, Candy invited us to a party after the dance.” He smiled.
I raised an eyebrow.
“Invited us or invited you?”
“Well, she invited me. But I want you to go.” He smiled.
“I actually have to stay and clean after everyone leaves.”
“That’s why we have a cleaning crew.” He said.
“You know how I feel about others cleaning up after a mess I made.”
“Babe, you didn’t make any mess!” He laughed.
“I’m not going to that party.”
“Babe! Everyone is going!”
“And since when did I become everybody?” He sighed.
“I’m just making a suggestion. Plus, as the football captain, I need the cheer captain to come with.” I have to tell him.
“Jack, why does being captain matter to you?” I groaned.
“But, I thought you were happy when I became captain.” I sighed.
“Jack, you’re not captain anymore.” Done.
“What?” Just as soon as he said that, the bell rang, leading the students to seventh period.
Jack and I scooted out of the hallway onto the wall, to let others go through.
“Did you hear about the new kid? He took Jackson Reel’s position as football captain.” I heard some people whisper. I sighed.
“Jack, I-”
“Baby, it’s okay. It’s not your fault I am not better than Andy.”
“You both are great playing football!” I tried to cheer him up. It didn’t work.
“I have a Astrology exam. I’ll take you home after school.”
“I actually have to stay to take care of the decorations.”
“Is Missa staying?”
“No.”
“Then who is going to take you home?”
“I will.” I heard a deep familiar voice behind me. I looked back and saw the face Jackson didn’t need to see at this very moment.
“Congratulations on becoming the captain. Don’t be too harsh on us.” Jack said. This is quite terrifying. Jack is usually very competitive.
“I won’t. I promise.”
“Good. Don’t go out for my girlfriend next.” Jack said as he turned and walked away.
“Jack!” I sighed.
“Let him go, he needs time to process everything.”
I looked at Andrew. His once perfectly positioned hair was now messy, but he still made it work. I giggled and ran my fingers through his hair to fix it. He looked up and chuckled.
“What are you doing?” He smiled as he backed up.
“Giving you some help.” I giggled as I tried to reach. I was on my tip toes, which didn’t help much. I made a wrong step, causing me to fall forward on Andy. I blushed as he caught me.
“Careful there, don’t fall for me.” He chuckled.
“I-I am so sorry.” I breathed deeply.
“It’s fine. Don’t worry.” He chuckled as he helped me stand straight. I looked up at him and he looked down on me. Awfully close for anything at all. I gulped as I felt his hot breath on my lips. I turned away and laughed nervously.
“We should get going to class.” I giggled.
“Well, surprisingly, I have class with you so.” He smiled and motioned me. “After you madam.” He chuckled.
