Snake bites and blood kisses

I took a deep breath. "I'm very nervous about this."
I turned and looked at Jackson. He rolled his eyes smiling.
"Babe, you say whatever you gotta say. I'm sure it's good!"
"But what if they don't choose me? I mean. It's the beginning of the year..." I bit my lip.
"So? They'll be glad to pick you. You already started working on this!"
"I guess..." I said as I turned to my mirror.
"Now come on, let's hear what you got so far." I nodded and looked into the mirror.
"Today is a day, we as graduating students will remember. Maybe we planned this out thoroughly. Maybe we don't have any plans at all. But what I do know, is that we all have goals and attributes." I kept reciting my speech.
It was only October, but I already started writing my graduation speech.
My name is Raven. I am only 17 years old, and I have a high GPA, with about three or four universities begging me to go to their campus. I didn't think this would be possible. I am the president of the student council, cheer captain and an honor roll student. My life is just perfect.
"Well, I gotta go home now. It's getting late, and I wouldn't want you to miss sleep." Jack said as he grabbed his backpack and jacket. He kissed my forehead lightly as he made his way out my door.
"Thanks for coming in." I smiled as I waved goodbye.
"Sure thing Pumpkin!" I watched as he got in his car and drove off.
After I ate dinner and took a quick shower I went online to the school's social media. I scrolled through many tweets and Facebook/ Instagram posts, talking about the halloween dance. Everyone was wondering what I had in mind. Every year, I made the best of these dances. I already ordered the decorations, DJ, catering and lighting.
I scrolled through more tweets until one stopped me.
“Have y’all seen the new guy? He is hot!”
“The new guy looks amazing! Looking edgy looks even more hot!”
“I ship @RavenT3 with the new guy! Their style match so perfectly!”
Ship me with the new guy? I hope they do understand that I am taken.
*Ding! Dong!*
I heard my house door ring. Funny. Jack doesn't come to my house this late. And I'm sure none of my friends would visit me. My parents always go on business trips, which means I am mostly alone. I got up as it rang again. I walked towards the door and looked through the peephole.
A tall figure was standing on my porch, smoking a cigarette. I hesitated but I slowly opened the door.
"May I help you?" I asked.
"Hi." The tall guy turned and smiled. He had beautiful blonde hair and amazing electric blue eyes. He was beautiful, almost god-like.
"Hi." I smiled back.
"Are you Raven?" He asked. I nodded, a little confused.
"Great! Um, I'm new to the neighborhood and well, I went to the website of the new school and saw your picture in it." He chuckled lightly.
"Oh okay." I laughed softly.
"So uh. That might sound a bit creepy. But I saw you earlier and thought, well she's basically the head of the school, why not go say hi.” He smiled. That damn smile.
“Oh well, I was actually just reading about you.” I giggled.
“Well, um. My name is Andrew. But everyone calls me Andy.” He smiled. I smiled back. Wait… is that… A fang?
“Are your fangs real?” I asked.
“Well, doesn’t every human have fangs?” He chuckled.
“I suppose, But yours look sharper and a little longer and thinner.”
“I’m sure you’re just tired.” He chuckled.
“Well, It is getting late, and I’m sure you don’t want to be late tomorrow.” I smiled.
“Yeah.” He chuckled lightly. “So um. See you tomorrow at school.” He said as he pulled up his hand. I smiled lightly.
“See you then.” I said as I reached for his hand. Once our skin touched, I felt a sudden chill. His hands were as cold as death. He quickly jerked his hand back.
“I must go now. Goodnight.” He smiled as he walked away.
“Yeah, goodnight.” I smiled nervously.
