Rebel Love Song (CC)

“Mariah!” My mother shrieked from downstairs. I sighed heavily as come too from my light slumber. I never were a heavy sleeper and my mother knew that. Tiredly, I sat up and looked around my black and white room. The walls were covered in posters of bands such as Black Veil Brides, Halestorm, Green Day and Motionless in White to name a small few. After a few moments, I stood up and got ready for the horrendous day I was about to endure – school. Yay! Note the sarcasm? Once I was ready, I grabbed my Vans backpack and made my way down the old and decrepit stairs. I’m surprised they haven’t come through yet.
“There you are, dear.” My mother turned to me with a soft smile. I shot a small smile back. We didn’t have the best relationship but it wasn’t the worse either. She and my father split up back when I was young. I rarely speak to him and I haven’t since I knew he was back around. Most people assume it’s because of my mother but it’s not, I just choose not to. In fact, my mother actually tries to make me get back in touch with him but I continually refuse. I don’t see the point. If he didn’t want to know me when I was young, why bother now? “Hi mom.” I gently kiss her cold cheek and grabbed a bagel from the table. “Thanks mom.” I nod my head slightly and leave for my walk to Hell – I mean school – before my mother could ask me again about my father.
