My Immortal Love

Jinxx helped Raven up from the stairs and to the living room. "But what does that mean for me, Ashley and Jake?" He handed her the water she left behind and sat next to her.

"Any abilities you guys may develop over time, you will get to keep them." Raven sipped at the glass of water. "Now, CC, when I get rested do you want to take that shopping trip?"

"Indeed! Let me go throw on a shirt and I will meet you at the car. Anyone want to come with us?" CC scrambled up the stairs to go put on a shirt and grab his keys. “Also, you can call me by my first name...”

Jake put his arm around Raven and helped her to the bus that was parked on the side lawn and he helped her lay on one of the couches. "This is what we take to the mall because it has a lot of space." He went to the door and shouted out. "Pile in!"

Everyone strapped in and CC drove off towards the mall.

"You dropped this on the way out...I tried to fix your charm but it was too shattered." Andy handed Raven her iPod and put the earbuds in for her.

"Can I be completely honest with you guys about something?" Raven sat up on the couch and turned down her music. The guys nodded and she sighed a deep breath to gather her nerves. "Please don't think of me as ungrateful or mean but all of this kindness and caring...I don't understand why.."

"You are a Wild One, as I said before, we take care of Wild Ones. Our home is now yours." Ashley repeated his words from the night they left the hospital.

"But what makes me as you said the other night a true Wild One?" Raven was truly confused because she could never think that there was something special about herself.

"I don't really know how to explain it but I can see in your heart that you are different, that you want change...that you are a Wild One." Ashley tried to explain further but couldn't find the words.

Once they arrived at the mall, Raven could move on her own and everyone piled out. "Where do you want to go first Raven?" CC asked Raven who was looking a little red. "You ok?"

"I'm fine...just...some of the things I need, I'm embarrassed to ask for.." Raven kicked at the ground and CC just stood there chuckling.

"Don't be embarrassed to ask for underclothes. Truly, it's no big deal, I won't even go into the store with you if it makes you feel better. Just let me know when to come scan the card." CC took Raven by the hand and they all went into the mall together.

“I've never had to have someone else by my delicates...it is embarassing.” Raven argued but CC just walked on. “This is where I usually get my delicates, Blackheart by Hot Topic.” She wiggled her way past the restock carts and towards the sales rack.

“Don't worry about prices, get what you need.” CC said and looked at the belt selection behind the sales rack. “This is a nice belt buckle, might get this one for Andy..”

Raven blushed and sorted through the racks filled with varying styles of panties. “I always buy from the sale rack...these are nice..and theres four more of them in my size.” She picked the delicate undergarments from the rack and picked a few matching bras. “Ready..”

CC took his wallet out of his pocket and waited for the cashier to finish scanning Raven's new delicate things and the belt buckle. “Where to next?”

“I shop at a few different places. Hot Topic, Spencers, Torrid and a few others...” Raven was worried that CC and the others would think she was shopping too much and she just looked at the ground with her bags held in one hand. “Music....” She put in her ear buds and let the music fill her with calm feelings.

“Let's go then, sounds like we have some clothes to buy!” CC took Raven by the hand and practically dragged her to Hot Topic. “Again, quit worrying and get what you need and this time..I'm helping. I won't take no for an answer.”

They spent hours shopping and talking and left just as the sun was coming up (CC got a friend of his to let them in after hours). “I had fun, did you see the look on that cashiers face when I sat the belt and those heels on the counter?” Ashley chuckled and everyone nodded. “Classic!”

“Guys, I'm going to go shower...I need it now that I have my own clothes..and shampoo..” Raven grabbed a few things from her bags that had been stored in the guest room up stairs and skitted down the hall to take her well deserved shower. “I don't feel so well.” She mumbled and dropped to the floor holding her stomach. “CC....help...” was all she could say before blacking out.

“Guys did you hear that?” Andy asked and when everyone nodded, they all ran up the stairs and Andy couldn't get the bathroom door open. “Gonna need some help! On three, ready Jake? One. Two. Three!” They shouldered the door and it fell to pieces on top of Raven. “Help me get her to her room..” Andy picked up Raven while CC had a freakout and Jinxx held her head carefully as they carried her down the hall to the guest room.

“I'm going to cover the windows, and pull down the sheets.” Jake took a dark blanket from the hall closet and covered the window by the bed and he pulled down the sheets on Raven's bed so she could be laid down and covered back up.

“All we can do is wait and see what happens. CC, you need to go drain a bag or two..calm your nerves as much as possible. Raven will need you when she wakes.” Jinxx had to carry CC kicking and screaming down to the kitchen so he could down a blood bag. “Just sit here and calm down, you freaking out is NOT going to help the situation.”

“But she..I don't...Jeremy what do I do...” Christian just couldn't imagine something happening to someone who he had taken in, someone he might like. “Will you guys help keep an eye on her?”

“Of course we will, she's one of us CC, you know this.” Jinxx put his hand on his friend's shoulder. “Look at me Christian, you know as well as I do, Wild One's are hard to kill...and something tells me that even if she wasn't a Wild One that she would still make it through this.”

“I know, trust me I know, but she just looks so helpless and that makes me worry about her.” CC downed his third bag and went back to the stairs. “How is she?”

“As comfortable as we can make her, now we wait and see how this is going to end.” Andy sat on the stairs and took the blood bag that was handed to him. “Although between you and me CC, I can almost guarantee she's going to pull through..I mean just think about it.”

“You know Andy, you are right. She will make it!” CC still had his doubts but he believed she would pull through, she had to.

Raven awakens to find that her windows had been covered, the lights turned off and that she was in her bed covered with a light sheet. The last thing she remembered was a burning pain in her stomach and chest and then she was on the floor. She gets up and goes to the bathroom to shower, brush her teeth, brush her hair and then re-dress into something a little less pajama-ish. After showering and drying out her hair, Raven had gotten dressed and wiped the mirror free of steam and what she saw paralyzed her: her skin and taken on a light porcelain glow, her hair had gotten longer and silver streaks had manifested throughout her dark waves, and then to see if her worst fears had come true Raven looked into the mirror again and opened her mouth and she saw the fangs she was hoping were not there. “So my sleep...wasn't truly sleep at all....it was the change. Oh Goddess, please don't abandon me because of this.” Raven decided to dress in a white shirt layered over by a black vest paired with a black and white multilayer pleated skirt and black flats with a lace bow on them. She covered her eyes with a pair of shades given to her by Jinxx and she pulled her hair up in a bun and covered it with the fedora CC bought for her and then she slid down the stair railing and walked into the kitchen.

CC walked into the kitchen to get himself a snack and saw that Raven had awakened from her sleep. “Good afternoon...sleeping...wow.” He reached out to removed the fedora from Raven's hair and she ran out of the kitchen.

Ashley was texting Jinxx, who had left the previous day, not watching where he was going and slams right into Raven knocking her over and knocking off her sunglasses and fedora. “Raven, is that you?” He gasps and scrambles to help her up.

Raven covered her face and felt around around for her sunglasses. “Yes, Ashley it is, can you help me find my sunglasses please?”

CC had heard the collision between Ashley and Raven and ran into the living room to see what had happened. When he saw Raven with her hands over her face he knelt beside her and lowered them and looked at her with a smile. “You look beautiful Raven, now let me see your eyes, please?”

Raven slowly opened her eyes and blinked them to clear the blurriness that was her vision and she looked directly at CC. He looked more beautiful than she had originally seen even with her demon eyes there was no comparison to how he looked now. “CC...”

CC helped Raven up from the floor and they went into the kitchen to get Raven a blood packet. “Here, drink this, it will help with the shock, trust me.”

Raven took the packet and sucked at it slowly letting the blood calm her nerves and ease the shock at how everything looks to her now. “CC, how long was I asleep?” She tossed the empty packet into the trash and sat on a stool at the island in the kitchen.

“Um,well...we counted at least three and a half days, if you had not have woken today it would have been a complete four days since you collapsed.” CC answered a little leery on how well she would take the explanation.


“Three and a half days...wait..did Ashley try and feel me up while I was out, and be honest with me.” Raven stood up and looked CC dead in the eyes waiting for an answer to her question.

“No, no he didn't, Raven he does have more respect for women then he lets on, I should know, I'm practically his brother and we have been watching over each other since we got started with music.” CC answered and he gently put his hands on Raven's shoulders to sit her down. “Now calm down and let me call Jinxx and Jake so I can let them know you are awake.”

Raven sat back down and let CC make his phone call, she could hear Jinxx on the other end of the line fussing at CC for waking him before he could get over his hangover. “I'm sorry Jinxx but it's Raven, she's awake.” The line went quiet for a minute and then a click and she and CC assumed Jinxx was going to take an aspirin and head over to the house. CC then dialed Jake's number and relayed the same message about Raven and then he hung up. “Um, Jinxx is on his way I assume and Jake says when he gets home from his date that you should be prepared for a hug.”

“Ok, um so now that everything is taken care of until they arrive, what should we do until then?” Raven wondered while looking at a catalog that was left on the counter. She had been flipping through a section of dresses and spotted one she liked and marked the page with a fold to the top corner.

CC looked over Raven's shoulder at the marked page to see what had caught her eye and saw that it was a section for wedding dresses. “I'm unsure, I was considering asking Ashley to get out one of his acoustic guitars and having a small jam session. Hey Raven, um, not to be rude but why are you looking at wedding dresses?”

“Oh, in Khelek young female ice demons are to marry when they turn 25 or they are cast out from society, but I like looking at the patterns and design of dresses, the uniqueness usually inspires my own creativity. A jam session sounds interesting though.” Raven replied and she flipped another page in the catalog and saw more dresses but these were lolita styled.

“I see, give me just a minute to go see if Ashley is up for a session and I might let you use my custom microphone.” Andy smiled and ran off to see if Ashley was available for a jam session at their recording studio. “So what do you say, are you up for it?”

“I guess, just let me get my guitar and leave a note for Jinxx so he knows where to find us if they get here before we do.” Ashley replied and grabbed his key to the storage they had in the house so he could get his guitar. “So what was that I heard between you and Raven about wedding dresses?”

“Oh, Raven was flipping through a catalog she had gotten at the mall and saw a design she liked and she was explaining to me the marriage customs from her home-uh-home...town but she went on to explain that she liked to design as well and looked for inspiration through images of unique designs made by other people.” CC replied to his friend who was carefully moving his electric bass to the side to get his acoustic.



“I see, wow I haven't used this thing since the concert back when we made Wretched and Divine.” Ashley pulled out an old, dusty black guitar case and opened it to tune the guitar and see if anything needed to be repaired. “Well everything looks good here, let's gather Raven and head to the studio.”

Raven was waiting by the door with her messenger bag which she had the night of the accident, held her brush, a can of hairspray, a small container of gel liner with brush, her phone, wallet and a copy of Percy Jackson-Blood of Olympus. “Ready to go guys.” She put in her ear buds and turned her iPod touch onto shuffle and followed Andy and Ashley out the door and to the car.

The ride to the studio was shockingly quiet mainly because Raven had her iPod in listening to a mix of Kpop,Jrock, some songs by Andy and classic rock. She was about to turn to another song when she felt a tap on her shoulder and she pulled out one of her earbuds. “Yes Ashley?”

“Um, we're at the studio, CC is waiting inside for us.” Ashley grabbed his guitar from beside Raven who got out of the car and dashed inside to see CC and find a bathroom. Once she found the bathroom, Raven dumped out her purse and started to style her hair more rockstar than her everyday look and then she left to go find CC after finalizing her style with a healthy dose of hairspray.

“Where is Raven?” CC asked his friend who had finished tuning his bass and sat down on the floor where he was most comfortable.

“Bathroom, but she should be back any minute, the studio room and the bathroom aren't that far apart. Oh look there she is now..whoa, nice hair Raven, looks like a less extreme version of CC's.” Ashley said and cleared a spot for Raven between himself and CC. “So what song are we doing first?”

CC and Andy turned to each other and had a small whispered debate on which song to do first. “How about we start with Knives and Pens?”

“Alright, who's singing?” Ashley looked to CC then Andy and then Raven and then back to Andy who was jumping up and down as if he was a kid in class waiting to be chosen .”Andy, it's up to you but if you wanna go first then sing.”

“Yay!” Andy exclaimed and waited for his band mate to start playing the song. He sang his heart out and Raven could be heard on the side singing a couple of lines and enjoying the music and dancing in her seat a little every couple of verses.

“Enjoying yourself Raven?” CC asked during the instrumental part of the song when he noticed that Raven had a pile of snow around her when she got up and danced.

“Oh dear, , I was going to say this at the concert but better late than never....but..CC, Andy, you guys are amazing and now that I have gotten to know you a little bit I can say it with more honesty and care than if I had never met you.” Raven scooped up the snow and used what little power she could in her human form to make it disappear quickly before too much notice was taken and then she smiled at the guys. “So, what song next?”



“How about..hmm...Lost It All, and if it isn't too much to ask but I would like to sing this one, it's kind of close to my heart.” Raven asked Ashley and looked to CC also to see if he would let her sing.

“Of course Raven, that is why we have these jam sessions, so everyone gets a chance to sing, except me...I usually do back up vocals.” Ashley replied and Andy handed over his microphone to Raven which cued Ashley to play.

Raven took the microphone from Andy and started to sing and tears rolled down her cheeks as she sang from memories flooding back to her from her childhood of being left out, locked away, feeling unloved and alone and almost being forced to marry at a younger age than Khelekian society would allow. Tears flowed and she fell to her knees overcome with sadness.

“Then I lost it all

Because I built these walls to watch them crumbling down.
I said, "Then I lost it all."
And who can save me now?”

“Oh CC...thank you so much, thank you for breaking my wall, breaking that chain that was wrapped around my heart. Thank you..” Raven wiped the tears from her eyes and smiled. “Thank you..”

CC had no words that he thought were good enough to speak to Raven at this point and he looked down into her eyes and taking a leap, he placed a hand on her cheek and kissed her and he felt tears run down his cheek and he realized they were tears of happiness.

Ashley sat in the background with a smile on his face that his friend had finally found someone to love and that would love him back as CC, and not the drummer of Black Veil Brides. “I think, I'm going to sneak out of here for a cup of coffee.” He got up and left the room to go down the hall to the small kitchen set up for employees and musicians only.


“Come, let's go home, I will leave a note for Ashley saying where we went and sorry that we left.” CC stuck a note to Ashley's bass and then he left with Raven by his side, both were smiling and walked hand in hand back to the house not caring about the distance because they knew together they would make it and Raven felt truly happy for the first time since she left Khelek.
