Picture Perfect?

" Oh come on now !" I yell at the lunatic who is currently buzzing me like an airplane . " How am I supposed to take still photos if you won't be still ? "
" You may as well let him burn off some of the sugar , or you won't get anything done ,Dev ." my roommates boyfriend , ( and my occasional employer ) , tells me , as his hyped up bandmate circles us again . He then yells over his shoulder at everyone else , " OK , who's the idiot that let him have sugar while we're trying to work ?"
" Nobody , I brought it with !" he shouts as he zooms toward the other guys .
" Thanks for the heads - up ,CC !" I yell back at him . "Next time I'll ask one of the guys to check your bag when you get here ."
As he reaches the others , Andy and Jake wrestle him to the couch ,while Jinxx goes through his pockets , and pulls out several packets of M&M ' s and Skittles . He hands them to me , and I lock them in my camera case .
" You can have them back when we finish ." I tell him . He tries giving me puppy - dog eyes , but I ignore them ,so he says " Oh , fine then . Be that way ."
" I will , thanks ."
" Why don' t we take a lunch break , and get some actual food in him ?" Andy says . " Maybe that' ll slow him down a bit ."
We all agree that this is a good idea , and decide to walk to the Chinese place down the street . As I'm putting on my jacket , my phone rings . I check the display and see that it's my roommate , Tanya , so I pick up .
" Hey , what' s up ?"
"Dev , is Ash there ?"
"Yes he is ."
"Are you sure ?"
" Well , since I don't have any reason to think that I' m hallucinating ,I'm pretty sure , yeah . What kind of dumb question is that ?"
"Because he's not answering his phone . I've called him , like , five times !" , she says .
" Well I can tell you right now , nobody's heard the damn thing all morning ." I say , then turn my head and yell " Yo , Purdy , how 'bout checking your phone ? Apparently you're missing calls !"
He pulls out his phone , and figures out that the ringer got turned off . I pass this on to Tanya and hang up . Barely a second later , his phone rings , and he starts talking to my roomie . Andy also spends a couple of minutes on his phone , and tells us that Juliet will be joining us for lunch .
I'm cool with that ,Jules and I have gotten to be pretty good friends since I met the guys last year . I actually hang with her , Tanya , and the other girls quite a bit . To be completely honest , I think I actually like the other girls better than I do Tanya . Don't get me wrong , I don't hate her or anything , but we're way too different to be besties or anything . We wound up rooming together because we met through work . I was new in town and needed a place to live ,and she'd just lost her roommate and couldn't swing the rent by herself . So it's actually more of a convenience thing , really.
She's a bit of a drama queen ,and kinda self - absorbed , but I've figured out that's pretty common with models . Although I do sometimes wonder how Ash has managed to put up with her for almost a year without going totally insane . I' ve gotten to know him fairly well since he's been dating Tanya , and a lot of the things that people think about him are a load of crap . Other than him being an incurable flirt ,that is .
Actually , all of the guys are really cool , it's kinda like having a lot more brothers . As we're walking to the restaurant , CC sort of demonstrates this by deciding that I need a piggyback ride the last block of the trip .
I think he's hoping I'll give his candy back , but he's not getting it until I get his pictures .

Ashley's POV :

I hang up my phone as we get to the restaurant , and notice that CC has decided to give Dev a piggyback ride . Probably trying to schmooze her into giving back his junk food .
She's a cool girl , and one hell of a good photographer . I've had her do several shoots for my clothing line , and this will be her first time taking pictures of the band . We also both grew up in Missouri , so we have that in common . Apparently , her hometown is almost as small as mine , a couple hundred or so miles further south , right by the Arkansas border. Sometimes we annoy the hell out of Tanya , she's a big - city girl all the way , and she gets bored when we talk about that sort of thing .
Obviously , the fact that I have a girlfriend is not common knowledge to most people . I've figured out that it' s too much of a shitstorm when that sort of thing gets out , so I'm keeping it quiet for as long as possible .
If I ever actually decide to get engaged , or married , that's not something I'd hide from people . But until I'm sure that I'm there , my personal life is exactly that . The only people who need to know anything are my family and friends . Tanya seems to be OK with it , at least for now . I guess it doesn't hurt her career if guys can imagine that she's single .
We get into the restaurant and get a table , and Juliet shows up a few minutes later , and I wind up sitting between her and Dev .
We order our food , and while we're waiting , Jake says , " Did you forget something you were supposed to be doing , Ash ? Your woman seemed awfully anxious to get ahold of you ."
" No , actually , she got some sort of last - minute assignment , and she just wanted to make sure that I didn't want to plan anything for a couple of days .
" That usually means that either somebody bailed on the job , or the client wanted a different look ." Dev says .
Our food finally shows up , and while we're eating , we hear someone say " Hi , Dev ! Hi , Ash !"
We turn around ,and one of my models , Jenna , is standing there waiting for a table with an older man who she introduces as her grandfather . Everyone knows who he is , he's a big - time electronics mogul who probably owns half the world . Needless to say , Jenna doesn't model because she needs the money .
" Hey , Jen , are you OK ?" Dev asks her . " You look a little stressed ."
" Oh , that's one way to put it !" , she says . " Do you remember me telling you guys about Giorgio ?"
" You mean the ' Greek God ' that your sister married ?" I respond . " The one who thinks that your grandad here is going to hand the family business over to him ?"
" Yes , the one who we're pretty sure is screwing around on my granddaughter ." her grandfather says . " We just haven't been able to catch him yet , and unfortunately Leslie is too smitten to believe it unless we can get positive proof ."
Just then , the hostess comes to show them to their table , so they say goodbye , and we pay for our food and head back to the studio . Maybe we can actually get CC to slow down enough to get some shots this time .

CC's. POV:

We finally got the pictures done , and Dev gave my stash back , but she said that if it happens again , she'll tell Tiff . She wants me to cut back on the sugar , so that might get me in a bit of hot water , Might even mean I don't get laid for a couple of days . Damn , Dev plays hardball .
That's OK , I love her anyway . She's like my kid sister , and I'm pretty sure the other guys feel the same way . She's been part of the group for almost a year , now . We met her at a party Ash had right after he started dating Tanya . Yeahhh ....
I love Ash like my own brother , but sometimes I want to shake him until his eyeballs roll independently of each other ! When the hell is he gonna learn ? For some reason , he always seems to zero in on the chicks that are just gonna wind up fucking him over , one way or the other .
Tanya is a self - centered , melodramatic , plastic dingbat , and none of us are sure how Ash or Dev either one put up with her . I guess if she's a good enough lay , that might at least partly explain Ashley's reasoning , but you'll never find two people more different than Dev and Tanya , inside and out .
Tanya is the "typical" Ash - type chick ; blonde hair , blue eyes , big fake tits , and a fondness for wearing as little as she can get away with , to get as much attention as possible .
Dev , on the other hand , is about 5 ' 10 " or so , with curly dark brown hair almost to her ass , and almost icy , pale green eyes .Apparently , one of her granddads is Italian , and it shows .
She's also very smart , level - headed , and laid back , with one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know . She hates seeing anyone unhappy , and gets really bothered if she has to say or do anything that might hurt someone' s feelings .I honestly don't think I've ever seen her angry , and Andy said once that he thinks she might be too nice for her own good . Not something you're ever going to hear anyone say about Tanya .
I just wish Ash would wake up and figure out that he decided to go for the wrong roommate .
