More Than One

I walked into the chinese restaraunt and instantly regretted it. Anxiety clouded over me as i walked to the back of the line to order. I scanned the room to see if I could find Andrew but he was no where in sight. Letting out a sigh of defeat I waited for my turn in line.

When I got to the front the nice Chinese lady asked me what I wanted and I froze as WWIII started in my head as everyone argued on what they wanted.
"Well I want vegetable lo mein with tofu squares" Hunter yells.
"BUT I WANT FWIED WICE" Lily whines.
Karen, Tana, and the 8 year old stayed quiet but Craig added to it by screaming
"excuuuussseee me?? I do NOT need extra calories and neither do any of you".
"I'll eat all your fucking heads if you don't shut the hell up" Harley barked as Henry politely suggested stir fry.
The chinese lady waved her hand infront of my face asking if I was ok.
"Ma'am? Ma'am..." she asked desperately trying to get my attention.
"you're all ridiculous"
"It's about time you all kill yourselves"
"Harley!! that was incredibly insensitive!!"
"Jesus all of you need to stop fighting Sara is frozen up because we can't keep our bloody traps closed"
"hunter...i'm scared"
Henry is pushed into the light as we all panic when someone pulls on Sara's arm. Henry looks and see's it's Andrew.
"Sara? Are you ok?" Henry retreats and Sara returns.

I blink a couple of times trying to regain focus on my sight and see Andrew.
"wha-?" I ask. I notice I have an insane headache from all the fighting in my head but somehow Andrew's bright blue eyes are like pain killers.
"are you okay??" he asks again as he pulls me out of line.
"uh yeah. i just have a killer headache." I mumble, frustrated at the fact that getting food is so hard for me. My stomach rumbles and Andy smiles.
"jeez Sara you scared me for a little bit...how are you?".
this question is asked a lot. By Flynn and "friends". It's because of this question that lying is now second nature to me.
"oh i'm fine. Just been working hard and going home. that's about it." i ramble.
"That's it?" he chuckles, "well maybe I can fill your schedule a bit". i start to get really nervous because i can almost hear what he's going to say before he say's it. he wants to hang out....and Flynn would encourage it. " make some friends. human interaction is important" Flynn recites in my head.He looks at my cold expression looking for a clue but of course he finds nothing. He stumbles on his word's a bit.
" I just- i was wondering if you'd like to go get coffee or see a movie sometime?"
Butterflies, anxiety, and guilt flood my stomach. I've led him on but at the same time i want to say yes. a choir of answers from my head emerge my thoughts.
"just do it honey!!!"
"absolutely fucking not"
"he's so gorgeous do it"
"you are literally- LITERALLY crazy. you really think Andy is into that?"
That last comment always gets me. I am crazy. literally. why would i litter his life with this?

"uh Andrew-"
"i told you that you could call me Andy"
"i really like the name Andrew though....do you want me to call you Andy?"
he tilts his head as if he's thinking then shines me a bright smile.
"call me what'd you like."
"ok...but i really don't think you'd like me as company Andre- i mean- Andy"
his smile fades and dissapointment floods his face.
" i doubt that Sara. will you at-least have take-out with me? i can order it real quick and we can go back to yours and just talk and laugh. It'll be fun. take a chance with me."
Take a chance. it rung through my head. take a chance? i sighed. It was going to be impossible to order by myself so if Andre- i mean Andy orders for me then there won't be any more of a head ache tonight and i'll be able to eat with Andy...on the down side he could find out about my DID. Nervously I quickly said yes so i couldn't go back and followed Andy to order food.
"what do yo-" he started.
i quickly said "whatever you're getting. smiling he orders another vegetarian lo mein and walks me my car where i drive to my apartment to have dinner with Andy.
