I'd Die For You

Chapter 1: New Beginnings

CC's POV

I was sitting in the car with my parents. I just looked out the car window as we drove to the new town that I was force to be called my new home. My sister seem so happy about going to this place. But me? I wasn't. I was born and raise in Los Angeles, California. Moving across the US, to Cincinnati, Ohio really bugged me. No more city life, no more friends, no more anything. I was moving to a place that I didn't want to go. I'm 16, I shouldn't have to leave all my friends and life I build myself behind to start a new one. Fuck this shit.

"Would you lighten up a bit Chris? I mean really you think this move is a bad thing. Dad said that if things don't work out in Cincinnati that we can move back to LA again." My sister always tried to make a best of things but she just didn't understand. Our home was LA, not this town.

"Just shut up please, you're not making me feel any better about this move. I want to go home. I don't want to be away from everyone." I just narrow my eyes at her and looked back out the window. I'm really tall and Skinny for my age. I'm easy to pick on and bully if I don't have my friends around me and starting a new school would just be shit. I don't want to start over again. I don't want new friends. I want to be back in the city where they all are and the band we started. They were force to get a new drummer and I been removed. I looked at my phone to see if anyone message me. I really did miss them.

"Chris, you really need to stop this. I know you didn't want to move but I need this job. I promise you if things don't work out here we will go back. Can you just make the best of this. Please?" My mother was okay but I know that she really didn't care where we were. She wanted to get away from the city for a while. She wanted to see the country side of things. With dad's new job, we needed to move to the east coast.

"Are we there yet? I'm getting tired of sitting in this small car. I mean if you haven't notice, I am 6'2." I just keep my eyes out the window and I could hear everyone just sigh at one time.

"About an hour yet, we just got into Ohio. We will be at the new house in an hour. Wait until you see this place. I really think you and your sister would love it here. The town is great. Wait until you see the house. You both have your own rooms and can pick which ever one you want." My dad was trying to make me happy. "You can even put your posters up and maybe walk around the town to find friends. Just try and make the best of this Chris. I will give you as much freedom as you like. Just please try and make the best of it."

"Whatever..." I put my headphone on and just listen to music. I just wanted to go home and not here. Back to Cali, back to LA where I belong.

An hour felt like days, I guess I must have falling asleep after having the talk with my family about this move. When I woke up, we were at this new house, it was big, it looked nice. The whole area did. I heard my music still playing in my ears and sit up trying to get my body to get out of the car. I was sore from the long ride. I got out of the car and took my headphones off after stopping the music. It was really cold here and I hated it already. "This is just bullshit." I grabbed my back and headed toward the house.

"Chris, can you help us?" I looked over at my parnets and just rolled my eyes before going into the house and looking around. I wanted to pick my room before my sister could.

I walked up the stairs, and even more stairs until I got to a attic room. I looked around and the room, it was big, the walls were green and the floor was black. I claim this room and put my bag on the floor. I looked around planning out the lay out of my room before going down and helping with only myself.

"Christian Mora, if you don't fucking stop this moody shit. I swear you're going to be grounded." I looke over at my father and just sighed a bit.

"You told me to help you out. I found my room and I want to get my stuff up there and work on getting it set up so I can call it a night later on." I keep my calm. I know that if I would fight back, my dad would not even let me get my room set up.

"Fine, but after that, I want you to go for a walk later and get a hang of this town. Have fun and try to make new friends. I mean it Chris, we don't want this to be a bad thing and if everything goes good. Your stuck here. If you need help setting up your room I will be happy to help." I know he was trying to be good, trying to make me feel okay but the anger in me didn't want that and I just picked up boxes labeled 'Chris' on it and carrying them into my new room.

It took me most of the day to set up my room. I had my band posters on the walls, my bed set up on one side of the room, my desk on the other side with my computer. My dresser was next to the stairs. My tv, surround sound set up in front of my bed. My movies and CDs set up at the side. The room was great and I really loved everything about it really. I looked outside the window and notice that it wasn't dark yet and knew that at anytime my parents or sister would come up to get me out of my room. Though I thought too seen.

"Chris, I know this isn't the best of time. But, before we moved here. I did some looking around and I know you always wanted something." My mom walked up to the room and had a box with opens in it. I didn't know what she was thinking but she walked over to my bed and sat down before putting the box on my bed. "So I went to the house today and got you at least one friend. Someone that I hope would make this a bit better for you." She smiled.

"You really didn't have to do anything like that. I know you needed to get away. Partying isn't the best way to raise a family." I walked over to the bed and goes to reach for the box but she grabbed my arm. It was a bit painful the grip on it and I just looked at her. She was pissed that I brought up her drinking issue.

"Watch yourself Chris. You're not too old to get knocked on your ass." She just glared at me and let me arm go and got up. "Make the best of this, I mean. And get your ass outside then. Better dress warm too." She walked down the stairs and was gone. Yeah there is things I don't tell people about my family. There is a lot that I hide.

I picked up the box once she was gone and could feel something moving around inside of the box. This confussed the shit out of me and I slowly open it to see a puppy pug looking up at me. Okay, maybe I can try and like this place. Going out of her way to get me a pug known that she don't think so great of me is a start. I picked up the pug and smiles at her. I decided to name her Lily and looked in the box to see if there was a collar or leash. Sadly my mom didn't think about any of that so looks like I had to go buy some things before I could do anything with Lily. I carry her down the the kitchen where my dad was and he looked up.

"Oh I see that she's trying to get to your heart with something you love as much as your music and eating." My dad just laughed and then looked at me. He knew my mom and I didn't get alone. Not like we use to. "Is everything okay Chris? She isn't doing it again, is she?"

"Threaten that I'm not too old to get my ass beat. Yeah, she pulled that on me when I told her that it was good to get away from her party friends so she can help raise a family better." I just looked at Lily and heard my dad sighed.

"Don't be getting her worked up. You know what she will do. Just keep your comments to yourself, I beg you." He looked at me sadly. "You know the truth why we moved. One is that, but I need you to not keep making your mother think about it. She's more pissed then you are. Don't spend your money. Here, buy the dog stuff with this." He handed me his card to buy things and walked off to make food. "Be back at 9, don't worry, I'll keep your mom busy that she won't flip out on you for being home so late."

I just smiled and walked out of the house. "Her name is Lily...." I walked down the sideway, keeping Lily warm in my coat. Being just a little baby, she fit anyway really. I walked to the closes pet store and brought her a bunch of toys, a dog bed, a tag with her name and my number and name if she would get lose. I made sure to get everything that she would need. Once that was pay for, I head back to my house, she was walking on her leash just fine and going to the bathroom on the way home. I looked at my phone to see that it was only 7 pm. I looked at Lily. "Want to go to the park? I don't feel like going home just yet. I mean you don't know my mom yet, when she's drunk. She's not a nice woman."

Lily and I walked to the playground that was just a few blocks away from my house. I was letting Lily play with one of her toys, while I sit on the swing, with her leash around my wrist to make sure she couldn't get free and run off. I was looking through my phone, looking at all the old pictures and remember my one friend wanted me to call them once I got to the new town. I look for Matt's number before calling him. It ring a few times before someone picked up.

"Hey Christian! It's been a while. Tell me how is the new place? You know we all miss you back here but the new drummer is working out good and we have a gig man!" I just felt my heart drop, they found a new drummer and had a gig. "Chris, are you their buddy?"

"Yeah I'm here, it's okay here, freezing. I swear it could snow at any minute. My room is really cool though. I'm the third floor and alway from my family. I mean it's really cool. I have a pet pug too that my mom got me. Right now I'm just sitting at the playground a few blocks away from my house. This place isn't LA." I just sighed a bit trying to hide the fact that I was upset they found someone to replace me so fast.

"That's cool man, hey, I need to go. I have things to do and the guys are coming over to work on new songs. Sorry you can't be with us man. We really do miss you but you're all the way across the state. Have fun, let me know how things go for you and when your internet is up." He seem to be rushing, trying to get off the phone with me as fast as he could. I could hear the others in the background. They all were there and he was the only one talking to me.

"Okay, I'll talk to you later then. Let the others know that I said hi." I could hear sound in the background but the thing that upset me most was what Matt said to me next.

"Listen man, I will let everyone know you say hi, but I really need to go. If we want this gig to be prefect, we need to work on it. When you get Skype working text me. We can talk then, all of us. Later man, try to make the best of your new home and know that we are here for you." He hanged up on me. Actually fucking hanged up on me. I just put my phone away and looked down at Lily we was playing with a little ball and frown. Is this really the only friend I will have for the time being.

"You look kind of sad for someone that has a cute dog." I looked up to see this girl and she walked over sitting on the swing next to me. "You're new here aren't you? I never seen you before. Guess you moved into the house next to one of my friends. He told me that there was someone new around here." She smiles softly and I couldn't help but feel kinda happy.

"I'm Christian, but you can call me Chris. This is Lily." I looked at her as she just looked at me and then started swinging.

"I'm June, but I like being called Roku. It's like my alter ego and really if you look online there is more Roku Kanno then my real name on my accounts." She laughed a bit and just kept swinging. "So you live around here?" Really, did I just ask that what the fuck is wrong with me.
"You are funny, though funny won't get you anywhere around this place. I'm guessing you're going to our school then. Just be careful new kid. Not everyone is friendly around here. You can ask any of my friends if you mean them. Andy is probably the easiest to pick out. He's the one that lives near you. Then there is Jake and Jeremy, but warning you now. Don't call Jeremy by that name. Call him Jinxx he likes it better. Then there is Ashley, he is like the shy, party person in the group. Then there is Jess and Cambria. One is my cousin and the other is my best friend." She smiled at me and got up. "I should get home soon so no one worrys about me. It's nice talking to you Chris." I watched her walk away but I didn't want her to go just yet.
"Hey, um, Roku. Why are you tell me about you and your friends. I mean you don't know me. But it's nice to know there is a good person in this town. But why tell me your friends? I can't put names to faces of people I never met before." She stopped and smile, it was a bit of a smirk too.

"Trust me Chris, you are better to know people, make friends with people around here. I don't know where you came from but you're not in the world of kind people. Bullies are different where ever you go. Not all of them are the same and they all have different ways to torture you. Andy know's it too well. They always pick on him and he's been living here his whole life. The rest of us just moved here and ended up making our own group. Just be careful, if would be sad to see someone a sweet as you fall." With that she was gone, leaving me and Lily alone at the playground. Then it hit me that it was darker then before. I looked at the time and notice that it was 10 pm. Shit....

I picked up Lily and the bags and even put her toy away before running back to my house. I knew my dad would be a little mad since he was the one that told me to be back at 9 for something to eat, but my mom was the one I was more worry about. I walked up to the door and went into the house. I didn't hear anything and hope to get up to my room before anyone catch me. I was at my door until I heard someone clear their throat. I sighed, seems my dad was tired of waiting leaving me with my mom to deal with.

"Where were you? Your father told you to be home at 9. It's an hour and 20 minutes pasted that!" She was pissed and I open my door to my room and trying to move away from her.
"I'm sorry, I went shopping for some things for Lily. Got some food and toys and other things she needs. Then I was at the park and I met this girl there after I was down talking on the phone with Matt. It won't happen again." I moved up to my room and put Lily on my bed, hanging up her leash and harness before turning around to see my mom standing there. "Mom, I'm really sorry...."

Before I knew what was going to happen, she backhand me and hard too that I fell on to my bed and just looked up at her. "When we tell you to be home, you come home. You're fucking 16 Chris. I don't care if you met someone new or not. When we tell you to be home you be home!" She was yelling, scaring the shit out of Lily who was now hiding under my bed.

"Mom, just stop okay? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be late. I lost track of time. You're scaring Lily too. Please just calm down." I seen the anger in her eyes. Great this was drunk mom I was dealing with. I needed to get to my dad and fast before she did anything to hurt me or even Lily. I got up and made a run for it. "Dad!" I know he would hear me if I got out of my room and to the hallway. People always said, it's dad's that can hurt you the most but nope you mom can too if she was brave enough and had no soul. I think all the drinks killed that kind mother I use to have.

"Christian, get your fucking ass back here!" That was enough to make me run down the stairs and to my parents room. I could here her behind me and I just kept yelling to my dad until I ran into him and he wrapped his arms around me.

"Hun, you need to stop this. It's okay, I told him he could go out. But you can't just beat the shit out of him coming home late over meeting her a new friend. That's good he did. We want him to make friends here." My dad pulled me behind him to keep my mom from getting a hold of me.

"Whatever Mike, I'll let it go this time. But he comes home late against and I'll beat him so bad he won't be out of bed for weeks." She walked off and to the living room downstairs. I could tell she was drinking and just looked at my father.

"I'm sorry, I thought I got rid of all her drinks but she must had them hiding. Go to bed Chris, at lease until she falls asleep and then you can get something to eat. I don't want you going near her right now." He just looks at me before going back to bed, leaving me there alone in the hallway.

I looked up to see my sister go back into her room. She was older then me. She was 18 and had one my year of school. Then she was going to college. That was her plan anyways. I walked up to my room getting ready for bed. I wasn't hungry, I picked Lily up and held her in my arms as I lay on my bed facing the wall. "I really hate this place. First day here, and almost got my ass beat. She won't change. She will never change. Moving was just a lie like everything else here." I just sighed and close my eyes falling asleep.

*Roku's POV*

After talking to the new kid at the park. I walked off on him and feel kind of bad for just leaving him. I wanted to go back and say something but when I went back. He was gone. I frown a bit and was looking for where he went to. So I went to his house and known that Andy was asleep by now. I couldn't just hang out with him to keep an eye on the new kid. I walked toward their street before looking at his house to see that the third floor room light was on. I walked toward the house in hope that he was okay and made it home stay. Their were jocks on this street, Andy had a few run ins with them. It's when Cambria and I decided to start walking home with him just so they couldn't jump him anymore. I walked to Chris's door and knocked. I know it was 10:30 at night but I just wanted to make sure that he was home.

There was a few minutes before some woman answered the door. She had a bottle in her hand and she looked really drunk. "Hello, may I help you? I think you might have the wrong house sweetie." She seem nice but something was off about her.

"Hi, I'm Roku and I was wondering if your son made it home. I was worry about him. I mean being a new kid isn't easy in this place. I just wanted to make sure he got home safe." I smile kindly and she smile back at me. Though I could tell that it was fake but she was hiding her true self from me, trying to put on the 'good person' front. So this made me worry about Chris.

"That's really kind of you Roku, he's home, in bed asleep. Thank you for checking in on him. But you should get home. I will let him know that you stopped by." She smile more. "Goodnight dear..." She shut the door before all the lights went off. Something told me that she wasn't a good person. But I couldn't put my finger on what was off about her. I walked home and getting on the phone with Cambria telling her of the events that took place today. We thought about going over to Andy's house. With Winter vaction here, we didn't have to go back to school until next week. Giving us time to get and know Chris. That's what the plan was, all of us meeting over at Andy's house to try and keep an eye on the new kid. Something told me that his mom wasn't the greatest. She had put on a front and I know that Andy would have seen that too.

"I think tomorrow we meet at Andy's and send him over to meet the new guy. You know give him another guy to talk to. Or the three of us go over there." I told her on the phone.

"You know that I am always willing to go to Andy's. Just call me in the morning and I'll meet you there. Chris and Amy would be happy to see us." She laughed and agree that tomorrow we would go hang out. And see what we can figure out about this new kid. We had a week to do this.

A/N: This is a made up story, something I been trying to write and getting stuck on. I think I finally figure out where to take this story. So don't hate me because to me a good story needs drama, pain and everything that is good, bad and in between. Hope you enjoy. Because there will be more Chapters to come. Sorry for any mistakes in spelling, I like the write but I'm not prefect. No one is.
