My Perfect Weapon

Chapter 55: A Change of Plans

Randy's morning wasn't going well. After the incident last night, he had been too afraid too sleep in his own bed. He had slept on the couch. He had awoke with a horrible cramp in his neck. He got dressed after throwing a sheet over the mirror in his bedroom. At some point while his back had been turned, the sheet had dropped to the floor and he had rushed out of there as fast as he could.

He tried calling both Austin and Michael, but had gotten no answer. He didn't want to leave a message because he didn't want any evidence of what they had planned for tonight.

When he got to school, he waited for them where they always met in the mornings, but they never showed. When they weren't there by lunch, he went looking for them. Maybe they were in the parking lot behind the school.

He turned the corner of the building and saw Andy and his little minions leaning against the wall. This time Cayden was with them. He saw Andy look at him and smirk. He couldn't wait to wipe that smirk off his face tonight.

"Lose something, Randy?" Evan asked him with a smirk of his own.
"You guys think you're hot shit, don't you?" He said heatedly.
"Not really. You're the one going around acting all macho all the time. We're just sitting here minding our own business." Scott said.
"You should take a lesson." Ash added.

Randy turned and was about to storm off. He couldn't wait until tonight. He was going to have Andy begging for mercy.

"I think you might want to change your plans for tonight, Randy." Andy said stopping him in his tracks.
"What did you say?" He asked turning around.
"By the way, How was your night last night? Anything interesting happen?" Ash asked him with a smirk.

The color drained from his face. He turned and ran to his car. He had to find Michael and Austin. There was no way they could have known about what Randy had planned unless they had been watching. He had been careful with his planning.

He pulled up in front of Austin's house to see police cars everywhere. He jumped out and ran to the door and knocked. Austin's mom answered the door.
"Randy, you were with Austin last night. Did he say anything about going anywhere? He's missing."
"Ma'am." A man said coming up behind her.
"I'm sorry. Detective Jenkins this is one of Austin's friends." She said turning to him.
"I see. May speak with you a moment, son?" The detective asked him.

Randy nodded. The detective stepped out the door and closed it behind him. He motioned for Randy to follow him to his car. They got into the car and the detective pulled out a pack of cigarettes.
"Do you mind if I smoke?"
"No, sir. I could use one myself."
"Smoking is bad for you, Randy." He replied lighting his cigarette.
"How did you know my name?" He asked frowning.
"I heard Austin's mom say it as I was coming to the door."

He let out a breath. Maybe he was getting a little paranoid.

"I know what happened to Austin." Randy told him.
"Do you?"
"It was that Andy guy. There's something wrong with him. He's not right."
"How so?"

Randy couldn't very well tell a cop about the whole stabbing incident. He also couldn't tell him about what they had been planning. It would only make him look crazy.
"I can't really explain it. I just know it was him." He finally replied.
"Can I give you some advice, Randy?" The detective asked stubbing out his cigarette. "I think it best if you stayed out of Andy's way and just left him alone."
"What do you mean?" he asked frowning.
"I mean, if what you say is true, then it's probably best not to piss him off."

Randy nodded and reached for the door handle.

"One other thing, Randy. Do you think Austin and Michael are together?"
"What do you mean?"
"Michael Evans is also missing. I just thought they might be together."

Well Shit. Now he really was going to have to change his plans. He wasn't going to do this without them. He would just have to think up a new plan on his own.
