Lacy loved their new house. It was much bigger than the apartment. She had her own room again and didn't have to share with Erica. She also loved that it was in the country. They were surrounded by trees. At night you could hear crickets and frogs. It was wonderful.

She had decided to go for a walk in the woods even though it was dark. Her vampire vision made it easy to see. She remembered the last time she had been in the woods at night she had been running from Ryan and his friends. She shuddered not wanting to remember that night.

She looked up at the night sky. There were a million stars and the moon was full, making it even easier to see. She smiled to herself. She had always loved the night. As she walked a little farther, she caught the scent of blood. She stopped. It wasn't human blood, it smelled more like that of an animal.

She focused her senses and heard a slight whimpering sound coming from just up ahead. She cautiously walked toward the sound, knowing an injured animal might attack out of fear. She came into a clearing and saw the source of the noise. There, in the middle of the clearing, was a large wolf. His front paw was caught in a trap.

She had always loved animals especially wolves. They were her favorite. They were so majestic and beautiful. She was always filled with a sense of wonder whenever she saw pictures of them.

Seeing this one up close was no exception. He was beautiful. His fur was black and silver. His eyes were a honey brown. She couldn't just leave him in the trap. She needed to get him out. But how? She didn't know if it was a good idea to approach him.

They stared at each other, neither of them moving. He seemed to be pleading for her help with his eyes. Before she realized it, she was taking a cautious step forward. She found herself in front of the wolf. She slowly bent down and released his foot from the trap.

As soon as he was free, he limped backwards a few feet and stopped. He looked at her curiously. He bent his head low and sniffed the air before cautiously moving toward her. She knew that if she still had a heartbeat, it would be pounding right now.

He stepped in front of her and sniffed her outstretched hand, before giving it a lick. "It's alright. I won't hurt you." She said. At the sound of her voice he pricked his ears up and came forward. He was now practically in her lap. His tail was wagging like that of a family dog greeting it's owner. He made a yipping sound and nuzzled her face with his nose.

Suddenly he pulled back from her. He looked at her for a moment, before something strange happened. His nose began to pull back and his body began to morph, and then sitting in his place was a guy. He smiled at her, before he spoke. "Hi, I'm CC. Thanks for getting me out of that trap." He said as she set stunned at what had just happened.
