A Savior Will Be There

Chapter 10

It's Monday morning and Korey had no idea how she could face everyone. Andy must've told the guys and she wasn't sure how the might have reacted, Andy most likely told Miss Hill as well. Korey liked Miss Hill because she reminds Korey of Naomi. How is Korey supposed to face Miss Hill?

Korey is currently in a batman sweater, black jeans, and her combat boots about to walk out of the door. Just as she was going to put her hand on the door handle, Korey stopped.

'What if they hate me for what I've done?' She thought to herself. Korey took a deep breath to calm her nerves and hesitantly walked out of the door.

Korey made sure the house was locked then put her earbuds in and started listening to Battery by Metallica as she was walking.

The music was loud in Korey's ears, but that's how she likes it. She continued walking with her head down a bit.

The earbuds did a great job of blocking out sound. Korey didn't even hear Andy calling her name until he took out the earbuds.

"Hey!" Korey almost shouted.

"Good morning to you too, Miss 'I'm Deaf Cuz I Like My Music Loud'." Andy said and both of them laughed.

"I thought you usually drive to school." Korey commented turning off her mp3.

"My dad needed the car for some reason, so I have to walk to school. I'm glad I don't have to walk alone." Andy said.

"I'm glad I can walk with you." Korey smiled. Then she looked ahead as she walked.

"Andy, did you tell the guys what happened?" Korey nervously asked, looking at the ground, not wanting to look into his eyes.

"Korey, you know the guys and I respect you. What happened this weekend was important." Korey groaned inwardly.

"I didn't tell them, but I told Miss Hill." Andy admitted.

"She's helped me through some things. You can trust her Korey."

Korey bit her lip and ran her fingers through her hair. She knew she could trust Miss Hill, but Korey really didn't want her to know. Then the thoughts she had this morning came back.

"Do you hate me because of what happened, Andy?" Korey asked.

Andy looked at her with a shocked expression on his face.

"No. Why do you think I would hate you?"

"I don't know." Korey replied.

"Just some random thought I had this morning I guess." She shrugged.

"Oh, okay." Andy said with a lifted brow.

Korey and Andy walked to English but Korey was hesitant to go in the room.

She looked at Andy with slight fear in her eyes.

"It'll be alright, Korey." Andy said smiling a little.

Korey nodded and walked into the room, biting her lip.

She watched Andy walk to his desk while she made her way to hers. Korey was stopped by Miss Hill.

"I'd like to talk to you, Korey, after class, okay?" Miss Hill said in a soft whisper.

Korey nodded and walked to her desk and looked out of the window. She felt so sick to her stomach because of what her mind is telling her about her friends hating her.

Eventually, English was over and Korey can't even remember what Miss Hill said.

But Korey remembered that her teacher wanted a little chat after class so she stayed in her seat.

Miss Hill walked into her direction and sat in the chair in front of Korey.

"Korey, are you alright?" She asked.

Korey bit her lip and looked down at the desk.

"Andy said he told you what happened." Korey tugged at her hair.

"He did. But no one else knows. Just the three of us." Miss Hill began.

"You don't have to tell me anything, I just want you to know that Ill be here whenever you need me."

Korey thanked Miss Hill and stood up. The teacher stood as well and wrapped her arms around Korey in a gentle, motherly, way.

"Now, you catch up with Andy and the others. They'll be wondering what is taking you so long." Miss Hill said with a smile.

Korey smiled back and walked to the cafeteria where she saw everyone at the table waiting for her.

Sammi and Hope were the first two to hug Korey. She hugged them back and greeted everyone. Nothing particular was really said, Andy didn't dare talk about that weekend and neither did Korey.

Hope was on a rant about how much homework the teacher in her biology class gives her, and Ashley was in the same boat.

Korey was mostly zoned out of the conversations.

There was nothing interesting for Korey to talk about, so she stayed silent.

Then, Korey felt like going outside, even though she would be there anyway after lunch. She told everyone she'd see them later, threw away what trash she had, and walked out.

Korey pulled on the hood of her sweater because it was cold again. She put the earbuds in her ears and started listening to Kashmir by Led Zeppelin, as she began to fall asleep under the tree.
