Meeting in the graveyard

I was numb as I walked the rest of the way to school today, in a few weeks it would be the end of my senior year of high school.

The sounds of people around me were becoming more blocked out as I got closer to the school court yard.

Making it to the front doors I walked inside feeling myself fading into my happy place of my mind.

I felt my face light up as people I only talked to at school passed me by in the hallway.

I waved at them and made my way to first period to being the robot no one knew who is so broken.

I sat there writing down the notes my teacher wrote on the dry erase board.

She was going on about whatever we went over last week, I dropped my pen and felt a chill go up my spine as someone walked through the open classroom door.

I chose to ignore it and bent over to retrieve my pen but the boy next to me kicked it clear across the room and swore under his breath at me.

I smiled and stood up to go get it, I stopped short only to fall back into my seat and feeling my smile dropping I met the cold stare of Andy's blue eyes.

I wasn't the only one staring as the girls in the room all started talking, I looked away to feel uncomfortable with the atmosphere.

"Okay class this is a new transfer student his name is Andrew Biersack, Andy why don't you go find a seat?" she announced, waving him to our side of the room.

The girls started talking and moving people out of their assigned seats to see if he would sit by then, I stood up to catch the teachers attention.

"Yes Devon?" My teacher asked motioning me forward I walked by Andy feeling his eyes on me as I stopped and stood to ask my teacher if I could go to the infirmary.

She wrote me a hallpass which I grabbed on my way out of the classroom, I walked towards the main office feeling myself coming back to the surface of reality.

I felt like screaming.

THEN SCREAM.

I wanted to hide behind my everyday lies.

YOU'VE BEEN SEEN.

My tears are breaking free, I didn't wanna see your death scene.

Let my poison drown your sorrows, become one with me...

I flinched when I felt warm breath on my neck, I turned around to be face to face with Andy.

Sapphires that looked cracked smothered me with their intensity, I dropped my face to his black clad boots and let out a shuddered breath.

"You sing like you know what I'm going through... Which is stupid because I only met you twice." I whispered.

"You can tell a lot about a person when you can see though the smile they fake." he replied back.

I looked at him and saw him holding my backpack, he noticed and handed it to me.

"I'm Devon." I said holding out my hand.

I wasn't surpised he didn't take it but I did jump when he started running his fingers through my hair.

"I know I've been waiting for you at the graveyard." he whispered into my hair but when I looked up and he was gone.

Chills running up my back I was standing in the hallway alone when the hell rang for second period and the hallways filled up with students.
