The Mystic


I walked into the camp and made my way to the infirmary. Some of the residents started crowding around me, asking who the girl was. I remained silent and kept walking.

This was just like Prophet when he returned with Eye Black, only its me carrying a girl who we don't even know, and she's not going die. Not on my watch.

I made it into the infirmary tent, which still held some of the injured from being held in F.E.A.R.'s tower for a long time. I found an empty cot in the back of the tent and laid her down. Holy shit! She's freezing!

"Rachel." I turned to the eight-year-old, the youngest of our team of four nurses, excluding Mourner and I. "Can you hand me a blanket?"

She nodded her head and grabbed one from the small pile on the ground next to her. She made her way over to me and handed it over.

"Do you need anything else Mystic?" She asked quietly, knowing that the others were probably asleep.

"I think I'll be okay. I'll call you if I need anything else." She nodded her head and ran back to her mother.

I heated up my hands a little to warm the blanket to keep the girl warm for the night. I lit a small fire in my hand to get a better look at her to make sure that she doesn’t have any cuts that could get infected. Luckily she wasn't badly injured, but I could tell she hasn't had a proper meal for days. Her cheeks were starting to hollow out, and her skin looks very pale.

I decided to stay with her for the rest of the night. I'm sure the guys will probably think I fell asleep in my hideaway again. It seems to happen more often then you think. I sat down on the desert ground as I lightly dabbed a wet cloth on her forehead and anywhere else she had any cuts or scrapes. A few hours later, I saw her slightly stir and open her eyes. She started to sit up, but I stopped her.

"Easy. I don't want you to get anymore banged up." I quietly Said. "What's your name?"

"M-Marina." Her voice scratchy from the dryness in her mouth.

"Do you want some water Marina?"

She nodded her head. I stood up and got her some water. I helped her slowly drink the water. I checked all her injuries to make sure that none of them were infected and asked her what happened to her.

"I-I don't know exactly." She started. "All I know is that my friend Marcus told me to find the Wild Ones camp. He told me I would be safe here." "Where are you from Marina?" I asked her.

"N-Nomura. Secter IV. I think the shadows invaded my village to look for something."

"Its never something the Shadows are looking for, its always a someone. Did Marcus say who?"

She shook her head. "But he told me to wear this." She pulled out our pendant from under her shirt.

"Where did you get this?" I asked, taking the charm in my hand and slightly pulling it towards me.
"I-I don't know. Marcus told me it would keep me safe."

"Not as much as they used to. This is and old one. Practically useless to us now. The shadows grew much stronger when they came back, and these ones just don't work anymore." I let the charm slip from my fingers.

"Here then. It's yours anyways. Its not like it'll protect me now." She took the charm off her neck and held it out to me.

I sighed and took it from her. I stood up and left the infirmary tent, making my way to the blacksmiths, where all the other charms were. Hopefully we can make these damn things working again.


The Dreamer


The man turned around and left without another word. That was when I saw the same symbol of the Legion Of The Black on the back of his jacket. As well as the word "Mystic" above it. Am I really in the presence of one of the members of the Wild Ones?
