The Sixth Wild One

Heaven's Calling

Dreamer

My life is not as wonderful as most people think it may be. I grew up without a true father figure. My mother never told me why he left, but I have my own predictions. I've always been the "wierd one" in my village because I constantly have these moments when I can see what someone else can see, even take control of their body.

I guess I should tell you who I am. My name is Marina Denver. I have green eyes and long dark brown hair. I live in the village of Nomura in Secter IV. Secter IV is the smallest of all fifteen Secters in the clutches of F.E.A.R., and the least up-to-date Secter in the whole country. My mother and I work in the marketplace and sell household needs and medical supplies to anyone who needs it. It's the only way we make money to buy food. And while It's forbidden for women to fight, I still trained with Marcus, the boy who lives in the hut next to us. I was about twelve when Marcus started secretly training me to become a warrior like him. And while I started to grow feelings for the older boy, I couldn't love him like that. He's far too old for me and I know our families would be shunned if we ever got together.

One day, at dusk, Marcus came to the door and told me I had to leave, saying it was about F.E.A.R..

"Why?" I asked. "I thought the Legion Of The Black defeated F.E.A.R.."

I looked over to him to see he had a bag and a flask in his hands. He tied the flask around my waist and put the bag on my shoulders. He then grabbed my hand and lead me outside and out of the village.

"Marcus! Where are we going!" I yelled.

He stopped dead in his tracks and turned around to look at me. "Listen to me." He said quietly. "You Have a very special gift. When your mother found out about your gift, she told me to protect you at all costs."

He pulled something out of his pocket and held it out to me. I recognized the charm on the end of the chain as the symbol of the Wild Ones. Why would Marcus have this? More importantly, why is he giving it to me?
"I need you to do something for me." He said. "I need you to go to Secter II immediately. Keep running no matter what happens to me. Got it?"

I nodded my head. He put the chain around my neck then slipped the charm under my shirt.

"I need you to wear this at all costs. And don't come back to Nomura. Find the Wild Ones camp. You'll be safe there. Your mother and I love you very much."

"I love you too Marcus. And tell mom that I love her too. " I said and hugged him.

He pulled away and kissed my forehead and stood up.

"Now go."

I ran in the direction towards Sector II. Nomura wasn't far from the boarder of Sector II so it didn't take me long to get there. I just don't know where the Wild Ones camp is. I ran until the sun started peaking up in front of me. I found a rock pile and saw it made a makeshift cave. I crawled inside and decided to take a sip of water, eat a snack and take a short nap.

When I woke up, it was around midday since the sun was in the middle of the sky. I was about to crawl out of the cave when a shadow appeared near my hiding place. I know for sure that he was trying to find me. I'm scared out of my mind now. Who knows what happened to Nomura. Was my mother and Marcus okay? Or were they killed by the shadows, or worse, taken as prisoners in the clutches of F.E.A.R.. The shadow disappeared and I crawled out of the cave and ran.

It was dusk the next day when I saw a tent. I saw a light shining inside the tent and decided to call for help.

"Help! Please!" I yelled.

The tent flap was pulled away and a man stepped out, looking to see me running towards him. I ran faster towards him until I started tripping over my feet as I got closer to him. I finally reached him and collapsed into his arms.

"Its okay. Its okay. Your safe now." He told me.

I couldn't take it anymore. I was so tired, so weak. I barley ate and barley drank anything in the past two days. My body was completly shutting down and the man saw that too. He picked me up and started carrying me away from the tent.

"W-where are we going?" I asked, looking up at him.

"A better place for you to rest up. Your safe with us now. I promise."

His turquoise-blue eyes looked down at me as I slipped into a deep sleep.
