The Prophet


I stood crouched down behind a small sand hill. The tower was only a few hundred feet away. I saw two guards at the main door. I quickly made a plan on how to take the two down. I made my way towards the shadows and knocked both of them out. I snuck through the doors and was immedietly hit with a terrible scent. I could see blood on the floor and walls. The stench was unbearable. Never did it smell like this when we attacked them the first time. I quietly ran through the hallways, avoiding any shadows and prisoners. I spotted a group of shadows at the elevator doors. I have to get past the shadows and onto the elevator to get to Dreamer.

"Pss! Prophet!" Someone whispered.

I turned around to see a girl, maybe fourteen or so. She sat beside the bars of the cell Supreme forces his people to live in. Her dark hair was mangled in knots and her clothes were badly torn.
"Yeah?" I whispered to her.

"I can distract the shadows so you can get to the Dreamer. She's being kept on the top floor, with Supreme."

"Why do you want to help me?"

"I hate living here. If you kill Supreme, we'll all finally be free. Mom says that you guys are the bad guys, butI've seen what Supreme did to the Dreamer. None of us deserve that kind of torture."

"Thank you. What's your name?"

"Rose."

"I'll remember that. Promise me you will escape and find the Wild Ones camp."

"I promise. Wait here until I'm out of sight."

She pulled out a bobby pin from her hair and picked the lock with ease. She quietly opened the heavy cell door and stood in the middle of the intersection of the hallways.

"Hey Shadows!" She called out and they all turned to her. "Come and catch me!" She started sprinting down the hallway going away from me and the elevator, the Shadows following her.

When I saw both Rose and the shadows were gone, I sprinted over to the elevator and got on. I pressed the button that went to the top floor and waited. Watching the numbers go up, I grabbed my knife from my belt and twirled it in my hand. When the doors opened, I was surprised to see no shadows what-so-ever. I made my way through the halls until I started hearing screaming.

"Marina." I whispered and started running towards her screams.

A pain shot through my head and I lost my balance. Leaning against the door, I shut my eyes as the image shot through my mind. I managed to shake the pain off and ran towards the sound of Marina's screams. And there she was. I stared to slowly make my way over towards her hanging figure until,

"Let me go!" Marina screamed.

A dark figure pulled her chin down to look at him in his black eyes. "Now why would I want to do that? I'm having so much fun!" He struck her, leaving a cut across her cheek.

I need to make a move and fast. I know that he's going to hurt her again. What to do? What yo do? I can't just jump in and, and get her out of here. Supreme suree sure would end up kilking me on the spot, at least attempt to. I pushed my long bangs out of my eyes before looking back up at Marina. Her body was covered in blood and bruises. Her skin was deathly pale and she was so skinny. I could almost count her individual ribs from over here! I can literally almost feel her tears and pain.

"How about we have more fun. Hmm?" Supreme asked and started undressing himself.

That was when I snapped. I jumped out of my hidinf spot and confronted him, staring at him in his black eyes.

"I don't think so, Supreme." I calledout to him.

"Oh! What a wonderful Surprise! Welcome Prophet. Your just in time for my treat. My dearest Dreamer, was about to put on a show! Weren't you dear?"

I could see Marina choking back her tears. She looked
worse than I thought. Next thing I knew, Supreme came after me.

"Andy watch out!" She screamed.

I ducked down and stabbed him a couple times in his side, hoping that I punctured a lung. He toppled to the floor and I knew that it was time to get Marina out of here. I ran over and got on my toes to reach up and cut the rope on her wrists. I caught her as soon as her wrists were free, preventing her from falling. She immediately wrapped her arms around my neck and cried into my shoulder.

"Its okay. Your okay now." I kissed her head before gently lowering her to the ground.

She stumbled a little as I tried to help her walk out of the room. I managed to get her in a room a few doors down before finding random clothes and throwing them on her.

"I'm sorry it took my so long to get to you." I kissed her forehead.

"It's okay." She whispered and stared into my blue orbs.

I just couldn’t resist myself. I saved her for god sakes! With enough courage, I managed to lean in and kiss Marina.
