I shuffled a bit in my seat. Since the band I was working for was still performing, Juliet had taken me to her meet-and-greet. It was fun to see all the different kinds of people that came for Juliet, but I felt out of place. Juliet was all dolled up with high heels and studded leather to match and here I was in black leggings and a droopy sweater. It was a cute, gray sweater, but still casual, with a hanging neck.

“Hey, Olive, you wanna go see the tour bus?” she asked after the last person got her signature

“Sure,” I said,”What about my stuff? It’s not much, but…”

“Oh, no worries! We can pick it up later,” she said.

That sounded fine, so I let Juliet lead me to the bus. Once outside the vehicle, I picked up that scent again, that really light, sweet scent. I suddenly felt drawn to the sweetness and its allure, but I had to hold back. I’m just here for three days, I could withstand the temptation for that long, because if I didn’t… they might find out….

“Here we are.” Juliet huffed a tired breath.

I admired her for meeting so many of her fans, but I’d bet a hundred dollars she was exhausted. As she plunked down on the driver’s seat, I took a looked around. It was kinda narrow and a bit messy. I would have to go outside for fresh air while I was here, but it would be worth it. Couches lined the space below the windows until they hit the kitchen counter. I could kinda see the toilet and beyond that was just bunks and a few more couches.

Still, that smell was on almost everything.

“Looks cozy.” I said.

Juliet laughed,”That’s what you think now, but wait until all eight of us are in here. It can get a bit crowded.”

“Well, I’ll manage.”

“I’m sure you will,” Juliet laughed a bit more and patted my back,”Your bunk is right there, top and to the right.”

“Thanks,” I said moving to look inside.

“Now we just wait for the boys to finish. I just noticed, but I like your eye color, it’s pretty cool.”

“My eyes?” I panicked for a moment. My human appearance had brown eyes.

“Yeah,” she said,”I’ve never seen someone with yellow eyes.”

“Yellow?” I whispered.

Juliet didn’t hear me and was fiddling with a loose buckle on her shoe. I took a breath and took in the sweet scent. I had blocked it out of my senses as best I could, but it was still there. It was so strong here and now my eyes were shifting on their own.

Oh no, I thought, that means that this scent…

The meet-and-greet was in a few minutes, yet I wasn’t ready for it. I had to go find her, my other half, she was here. I had thought Juliet was my mate, but that was just a smell and right now I was sensing more than just a smell. This feeling was, yes, triggered by a feminine aroma, but I swear it was more. I was aware, extremely aware and attracted to this woman. What’s worse is I haven’t even seen her yet!

“Andy?” Ash asked, resting a hand on my back,”You okay there, dude?”

“No, wolf side is having a rough time right now.” I confessed, feeling conflicted.

“Hey,” Jinx stepped in,”that isn’t something we haven’t dealt with before.”

I ran my fingers through my hair and tried to block out the sensation that was driving me nuts. It was useless, because honestly I didn’t want to block anything, I wanted to find her. Claim her. Forget Juliet, this was to intense and she was just a nice smell. I swear I feel bad, but right now my mind is obsessing over other things.

I cursed at myself and laughed quickly after.

“Guys, I don’t know if I can do the whole meet-and-greet.” I said simply.

Thankfully, the guys didn’t reel back like I thought they would.

“Hey, fine with me,” Jake said,”You look so distracted, you would probably raise questions anyway.”

Jinx agreed with a laugh,”No doubt about that.”

“I look that bad?” I asked, snickering.

“Yes.” Ash said,”Not gonna lie. Christian, pass me my hat, we got an army to greet.”

CC picked up Ash’s cowboy hat that was thrown on the ground next to him and tossed it to the bassist. He looked a little worried, but he still had a big, old CC grin on his face.

“Go deal with whatever,” Jake said, helping me stand up,”We’ll have all the fun with the fans.”

“Thanks guys.”

I received a chorus of ‘welcome’s and ‘you got it’s but I didn’t stay to hear them all, I had a girl to find. Before I was out the door, I heard CC’s voice in my head.

“Good luck, man.”

“Thanks.” I whispered aloud, hoping he caught it.

I was messing with my camera and fidgeting on the couch closest to the door. What fresh air came in, I took in deeply; I had to concentrate on something other than that smell. I had to not submit until I knew what he was like. For now, I had Juliet believing that I had on contact lenses so that when they went back to brown, it wouldn’t be so strange.

“Hey!” Juliet said, sitting up from the couch in front of me,”There’s my boyfriend!”

Juliet had been watching TV so I was surprised that she saw anyone coming. Especially since the bus was so high. I turned around and froze.

He caught my eye and I could just feel my heart pounding. It was him. He was my mate, but one problem. Juliet just said he was her boyfriend, right?

Oh man, I thought as I stared into the darkest blue eyes I had ever seen, but he’s so perfect.
I shushed my wolf side, trying to keep my eyes locked with his until he gave up.

I wanted to sprint inside, but Juliet was in there with her. I could see her. Her short, curly brown hair that hugged her face. Her slim, freckled face. Her yellow, glistening eye--yellow eyes…. She wasn’t human, she was just like me. That could make my role either harder or easier.
Let’s hope it makes it easier.
