Soaring Bird

"I am your best friend and you didn't tell me?!" Allen shouts when he comes back upstairs
"Whoa, what are you talking about?" Chantel instantly defends herself.
"You two went to a movie!?"
"I didn't realize it was that big of a deal, it was just a movie."
Chantel doesn't notice the hurt look on Rex's face when she says that.
"Bull shit! I see the way you two look at each other, you like him!"
"So what? What if I do? What does that have to do with anything?"
"Wait, you like him?" Eric says
"It has everything to do with everything! If you two get together and then break up what happens to this band?"
"I don't know Allen! I don't care! I didn't want to be in this band in the first place, you're the one that went behind my back to set all of this up and why so you could be in the background playing guitar!!! While I'm the one singing every night and getting sick during tour and possibly disappointing fans because i can't sing! You don't get it this band isn't all about you and your Allen needs, its about all of us!"
"You know what, if thats how you feel why didn't you say that before we went through all this?"
"I DID!!!! You forced me into this!"
Rex and Maddox sit there watching the whole thing unfold, afraid of what might happen if these two don't make up. They love playing these songs, and spending time with them, and they don't want the band to end before it even started. Rex sits there blaming himself, why couldn't he just keep his mouth shut about how he felt... UGH!
"Fuck you! I'll be at my house when you want to apologize!" Allen shouts
"Me!!!? Me apologize, don't hold your breath!"
Allen drags Eric out of the house leaving Maddox and Rex in her room, but after a while Maddox feels uncomfortable and excuses himself.
"I'm sorry..." Chantel whispers when its just her and Rex
"What for?" Rex wonders
"All of that..."
"It's cool, um... I'll see you tomorrow?"
"You're leaving too?" she says, sadness in her voice
"I figured you'd want to be alone"
"no, stay."
Rex sits down next to her on her bed and wraps his arms around her just as Jenny walks in. She walks up to her sisters bed and hugs her sissy.
"I heard yellin. You otay sissy?" she asks
Chantel smiles at her little sister and gives her a head nod before hugging her back. Just then Alexander and Christopher walk in.
"Does anyone knock?"
"But your door was open, and we heard everything. Are you and Allen not friends anymore?" Christopher asks
"I don't know."
"Are you still going to sing?" Alexander wonders
"I don't know"
"You should..."
Then Neveah and Ashley appear in the doorway and shoo all the little ones away. Ashley walks in and Rex scoots away from Chantel. Ashley laughs.
"You didn't have to do that," he says to Rex, "but I obviously couldn't help but hear, and I wondered if you need some advice?"
"What do we do sir?" Rex asks
"You don't do anything. You let him cool down. Let him come around."
"But what if he doesn't dad?"
Neveah chuckles, "Do you not know your own best friend? He has had your back since you were in pre-k. You two have a bond that will never be broken, but you have to be able to help mend the bond when it cracks. I know you did nothing wrong, but in his eyes he feels betrayed. Put yourselves in his shoes, sharing every single minute of your lives, like snap chatting in the bathroom," she raises her eyebrows at her daughter and laughs when she blushes red, "to find out that you didn't share that you went to a movie with a fellow band mate that you may or may not like? Are you forgetting the first time he told you he thought a boy was cute? What did you say?"
"I said... 'Awesome we can look at boys together, to bad you can't help me look for girls'."
"You know what you need to do." Ashley says standing up from the bed and taking Neveah's hand and leaving the room

Hey guys! Thank you for being patient with me and writing.
I also just want to mention that last night was amazing, and I hope most if not all of you get to go see Andy on his Andy Black tour. It is so different from a BVB concert, it's more personal for him and he actually gets to spend time talking and telling stories and interacting with us.
I love BVB, but I loved this concert more than any other concert I have been to because this one was so personal and real.
