Novocaine Hearts

Jake's POV

It was our last night in the UK.
Our final show was tonight and it was sold out.
You could feel the buzz in the air.
Novocaine Hearts joined us as one of our supporting acts, so it was nice not having to say goodbye to Lexa for 2 weeks.
All of us were so chilled and relaxed, it hadn't felt this way in a long time.
I watched side stage as Novocaine Hearts performed.
Lexa's vibrant purple hair flying wild. Her and Parker had regained their onstage chemistry again and it was magic to watch.
They'd all come so far.
I looked over my shoulder and saw Ashley madly tapping the screen of his phone.
"Ash! Whats wrong?!" I asked, looking at the worried expression on his face.
Ashley tipped his head over to the backstage door so we wouldn't have to yell to talk.
"Riley's not messaging back" he stated, holding his phone to me. "She told me earlier that she was at work today, but she always has her phone on her. She knows how important communication is!" He stressed.
"Ash, chill. It's probably just really busy. She'll text you back" I assured him and patted his shoulder.
"But what if it's not?" He pushed, his eyes filling with uncertainty.
"Maybe just trust that she's fine" I shrugged, already over this conversation.
I tried my best to be there for Ashley over the last 2 weeks, but it's been hard. Most days Riley called and messaged him. It was no big deal.
Ashley was being a helicopter parent, trying to watch her every move.
Ashley sighed, rubbing his forehead in frustration. "Okay" he huffed. "Come on, we're gonna be on soon. I'm gonna go get ready" he said as he turned and trudged down the hall to the dressing rooms.

The show was just a continuous high. The crowd was mental, but we expect nothing less from our UK fanbase.
"THANK YOU LONDON!" Andy shouted at the crowd.
I watched as their hands reached higher, giving us all their energy. Their eyes screamed at you, wanting your attention.
I smile widely as I grabbed the guitar pics I had left and tossed them into the crowd. I handed my last one to a guy that wore my war paint and had watched my every move for the night.
We took our final bow together as a band then rushed back stage.
"And that's it! Good job everyone!" Our tour manager boomed over everyones hype.
We all cheered as we rushed to out loved ones.
Lexa finally made her way over to me; bear hugging me on approach.
"Oh my God! That was the best!" She yelled into my ear.
"It was" I sighed. "Now we can finally go home" I grinned.
Everyone started to file backstage to pack up our dressing rooms. Andy and Ashley shared one and myself, Jinxx and CC shared the other master room.
Andy and Ashley lead us down the hall and as they opened the door I hear Ashley say "WHAT! OH MY GOD!"
We started to crowd around the doorway but someone bounded out.
"SURPRISE!" Riley screamed as she hugged Ashley tightly.
"What are you doing here?" He spoke with joy.
"I wanted to surprise you. I wanted to come see your last show for this tour" she said sweetly.
"I can't believe you're here! I... I... I just love you" Ashley spoke softly, almost lost for words.

"So, where to from here?" Lexa asked me as she sat on our hotel bed in long pajama pants and tank top.
"Hmm, I don't know really" I shrugged as I climbed into bed with only boxers on.
"What do you say to me finding a more permanent home in LA?" Lexa smirked.
"I say fuck yeah" I said, feeling a wave of joy, making me lean over to kiss her.
"So, we'll go from there?"
"We'll go from there."

Notes

And you know what? I'm leaving it there.
I just want to tie this up neatly and that's the best way I can do it.
It's not the best ending, but I'm over it. I keep dragging out this story and I need to stop. So it stops here.
If I continue it just gonna be Jake and Lexa going down the same path as the rest and that's been and done.
It's hard when you don't get feedback so I have no idea if you guys are even liking it.
I thought about deleting it, but I've worked on this for year! A fucking year! I'm done.
