Jake's POV

I had no idea why I said she could stay with me. I don't know whether it was just old feelings or just wanting to help...
I had moved on from Lexa. I was dating this gorgeous Russian vocalist, Inna. She was the love of my life and I was finally happy. I realised how much of an idiot I was being about Lexa and forgot about her, but here she was. Upset and in need of help.
I did feel bad. I saw how happy she was with Parker. Now... who knows what's gonna happen.
"So, do you know what you're gonna do in LA?" I asked after a few minutes of walking in silence.
"Umm, not really sure... Look, I'm not sure if I can stay with you. Maybe for a night, but I might see if I can stay with Ashley and Riley. I can't impose on your life, I know you're dating someone" her voice almost a whisper.
"It's fine Lex."
"No, it's not. Jake, I'm not the person I used to be. I don't want to cause any trouble. At least if I stay with Riley I'll be safe. I really don't want to start drinking or anything" she shrugged.
I felt a goofy smile spread across my face as she spoke.
"What?" She said after a moment.
"Oh, uhh, nothing... I'm just amazed at how clear your head is. You're taking all this really well" I explained.
"Ohh... thanks... I honestly don't think I'm handling it well. The only reason I leave the bus is for our set and to shock up on cigarettes. That's about it. Parker tried to talk to me, saying I'm making this hard, but it is hard... for me at least. He's not even phased by it!" She ranted as she pulled out another cigarette and wedging it between her lips.
"I hate saying it, but Warped does that to couples. I've seen it happen. it sucks, but you just gotta deal. But yeah, definitely stay with us in LA for a bit. Clear your head" I said lightly touching her arm.
"Yeah... Anyways, I better get back. They're probably looking to head off soon" she shrugged. "Back to my cave" and she started to stroll off.
"Wait..." I called.
She turned back to face me and I held my breath.
"Just come on our bus. Get away from them for a bit" I suggested.
"Nahh, it's okay. I just wanna be alone. Thanks though" she said giving him a small smile.
"See you in LA then" I shouted.
Without turning she just waved my hand at me.

Lexa's POV

"Where have you been?" Nate asked when I trudged onto the bus.
"Well... I decided that I wanted to get high so I could feel happy, but then I was too happy, so I got drunk. Which made me super depressed, so I slit my wrists and died" I said sarcastically.
Nate gave me an unamused expression. "Again, where were you?"
"I went out to get cigarettes then when to see Jake."
"You went to see Jake?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, I saw Jake. I just needed to talk to someone."
"What did you talk about?" He pushed.
"I don't know! I was thinking I might... go... to... LA... after here..."
"And do what?" He continued.
"Just get away. I can't be near Parker right now. I'm just... I just need some time..."
Nate looked deep in thought for a moment then he sighed.
"Promise me you'll be safe and responsible. You mean so much to me personally. I'm not talking about the band right now, okay?"
I nodded.
"Lexa, I'm serious, you have been one of my best friends for the longest time. And I know you're gonna get through this. Forget about Parker, or if anything, channel it and use it for inspiration. Use it to get over him. You're gonna be okay."
