Novocaine Hearts

Lexa's POV

Warped Tour time again.
I loved this time of year. The sun was shining, Hot Topic was having sales and emos actually come out of hiding.
We were currently in the final stages of our brand new album and had a new single to play on Warped. It was a good time for the band. We had gained so much more traction and we had become a fandom. I loved how most bands have a couple that they 'ship', for us it was myself and Parker. I think it's mostly because we are the guitarists and we live together and we were actually dating... We were very careful not to alert fans. We kept it very private. Not even our other band members really knew. Everyone had their suspicions, but no one had solid proof.
So it's pretty easy to say my life was looking up.
Ever since Jake broke up with me, it was a wake up call. I couldn't control myself. I was addicted to pills, I was an alcoholic, but Parker seemed to fix all that. He helped me through the break up. While helping me something sparked. We had known each other for years, but this was different. We found something.

"Lex! The bus is here!" Parker yelled from the living room.
"Okay, okay I'm coming!" I yelled back, pulling on my Vans and grabbing my backpack.
Parker waited for me by the door, all of our luggage in the hallway.
He smiled as I approached him and I gave him a quick kiss.
"You ready for this?" He asked as we loaded ourselves with bags and guitar cases.
"Yeah, I mean, the band is in a better place. I'm in a better place" I said looking sweetly at Parker. "I love you so much."
"I love you too... best year and a bit of my life" he smirked as he flipped his hair out of his eyes.
I gave him a longing stare, when the elevator doors dinged.
We looked through the lobby doors and there was Nate, Saxon and members of our crew were waiting for us.
"Just remember, we can go public if you need support" Parker reassured.
"I'm going to be fine" I smiled.

I had been pretty occupied with everything that had been going on that I hadn't had the chance to see who was on the bill this year. So I was surprised when Nate asked me about Jake.
"Hey Lexa, you gonna be okay knowing Jake is going to be on the same grounds as you?" He asked lightly.
I glanced over at Parker who gave me an assuring look.
"Umm, yeah, I mean, I know we ended on bad terms, but I'll smooth things over if I get the chance" I smiled, but I was really hiding the panic.
I quickly pulled out my phone and messaged Parker to meet me at the back of the bus asap.
I waited near our bunks for him to join me.
"Hey, you okay?" He said as he rushed over.
"No! How did I not know BVB were on Warped!" I panicked.
"Cause I didn't want you to know. Look, you can't let it bother. We're not even on the same stage as them. But you know what, you should do exactly what you said, smooth things over" he suggested.
"I suppose" I sighed.
Parker discreetly tried to hold my hand. "I love you" he whispered and squeezed my hand before letting go.

The bus pulled up to the familiar lot and all the memories flooded my mind.
"Come on guys, set is at 4:30! We have moved up!" Nate announced.
"Yay, that much closer to BVB" I muttered under my breath.
"Hey, we are no where near them" Parker whispered.
We all continued walking across the lot when I saw a familiar face.
"Lexa?!" Yelled a short, tattooed woman.
"Riley?" I squinted.
She ran closer towards me and attacked hugged me.
"Oh my God I haven't seen you in so long!" I said.
"I know! Oh God... You look great" she smiled.
"Hey, you too. Ever end up finishing the album?" I chuckled.
"Eventually" she smiled nervously.
"Hey, look, can we talk later? I'm on my way to our set."
"Oh sure, ummm, meet me at BVB's stage? I'm only here for today" she smiled and continued to walk off.
"Great..." I waved sarcastically.
