Novocaine Hearts

Lexa's POV

"Okay, let me see if anyone is awake yet, cause you need to get out of here!" I said, holding the sheet over myself as I got out of bed.
I tip toed to the door and opened it a crack.
I couldn't hear anything.
"I don't think anyone is up, so you have to be out of here now!" I said searching for my own clothes.
"Cool. Hey by the way, I had a great time last night" he smiled cutely.
"Nice try, I've got a boyfriend and I intend to keep him" I shot pulling on my black jeans.
Mason chuckled as he pulled on his t-shirt and jacket. "Okay, I'm off."
"I'll walk you out" I rushed after him, not wanting him to run into anyone.
The house still remained silent as we made our way downstairs.
"So, no chance of me seeing you again?" He asked again.
"None" I said flatly as I unlocked the front door.
Mason was about to walk out when a car pulled up.
My heart dropped into my stomach and my mind froze.
It was Jake's car.
Mason continued to talk, but it was like I couldn't hear him. All I could focus on was Jake getting out of the car and reacting to what he was going to see.
He soon realised that Mason was my one night stand and I hung my head in shame.
"What the fuck is going on here?!" Jake said angrily as he approached the porch.
"Jake, what are you doing here?" I tried to say calmly.
"Well, I figured you went out with Jules last night, so I thought it would be nice to get breakfast, but obviously you already had breakfast..." He glared at Mason.
"Hey man, I didn't know she had a boyfriend..." Mason held he hands up in surrender.
I could see Jake only getting more pissed off. His hands clenched tightly, making his knuckles bone white.
Next thing I knew Jake had thrown a punch and Mason was on the floor.
"Jake!" I shouted.
"What the fuck are you doing with my girlfriend!" He yelled as he punched him again.
Mason tried to defend himself, but Jake was too strong.
"JAKE STOP IT!" I screamed.
Jake was about to hit Mason again, but he stopped.
"Why?" He said cocking his head at me. He looked so hurt and upset, but he was hiding it was anger.
"Because, you're not mad at him. You're mad at me" I said nervously.
He let go of Mason and walked towards me.
"How am I meant to forgive you for this?"
"Because I know that last night was a mistake. I was drunk and Jules gave me something. I don't remember anything! I never wanted any of this to happen!" I said with tears in my eyes.
Jake looked like he was holing back tears as well, but he shook his head.
"No. I can't trust you. How do I know you won't go out and do this again! I can't be with someone who can't kick their addiction" he said was sad words. "We're over" he said simply and walked to his car.
He gave me one last look of betrayal before he ripped the door open and slammed it shut.
I looked down at Mason whose nose looked broken and lip had split. I helped him up and walked with him in the house, but Andy and Juliet were standing in the doorway.
"Guys, I'm sorry! I can't control myself..." I tried to say.
"Get your stuff and leave" Andy said, holding back a roar of anger.
Juliet just shrugged and followed Andy.

Later I went by Jake's place to try and talk things out.
I nervously went up to his door and knocked.
I held my breath as I listened to the dogs bark and Jake's footsteps.
"What are you doing here?"
"I-I was hoping we could talk?" I said, giving him a small smile.
"There's nothing to talk about. I can't trust you. I want you out of my life. Get your shit and leave."
"Jake, come on! Please I-"
"No Lexa! I don't want to hear it! I thought you loved me, I thought you could change, but you can't. Apparently it's too much to ask."
I was silenced. He was too upset.
I quietly packed up all my stuff and loaded in my car.
Jake absently sat in his little studio, working on new material.
I put the last of my stuff in my car and went to sat goodbye.
"I'm all packed... I just wanted say I'm really sorry. I never wanted to hurt you. You're the only person who has ever cared about me. I wanted to change and I really tried. I'm gonna keep trying because I want to make this right. I hope that one day we can be together again. I will never forgive myself for losing you."
I kissed his forehead and left.

I'm so sorry guys.
I have had the worst 2 weeks of my life.
Something is going on with me and I'm having a lot of trouble coping.
I finally got round to writing a new chapter.
This isn't the last chapter btw.
Please comment cause it would really make my day. My online life is much better than my real one.
