Something about Lexa

I’m not your average female rockstar. I am the drinker, partier, smoking, drugged up and fucked up rockstar. I’m not what you’d expect.
My story goes something like this. I never met my real parents. I was put into foster care as a kid, but I never really settled. When I was 15 I was placed with a family in San Francisco, California and they gave a fuck about me. I wasn’t homeless, but I wasn’t home. While in my sophomore year of high school I met my now band mates, Nate, Parker and Saxon. They saved me in a way. They were the brothers that always protected me.
There’s a weird feeling that comes with not knowing your true family. It leaves a gapping hole in your soul and it can never be filled. No matter how many times you are used and abused.
I don’t care if you think I’m talking some psycho babble bullshit cause I mean all of this. Life is a fucking bitch!
The only times I’m not drunk or high is when I’m making or creating music. In the studio and on stage I’m as sober as they come. I could never understand my own habits. I started playing guitar when I met the guys and that was when I had officially dedicated myself to being sober for something. It was the only thing that seemed worth it.
I mean, if you really wanna know my deep dark secrets, prepare to cringe... Used and abused is almost my motto. It’s what continuously happens to me. It’s part of the reason why I use drugs and alcohol. It’s not a good thing. It’s not the way to be a role model rockstar. I hate myself, but it’s all I know. My ‘brothers’ have taught me better, but I’ll never be okay.

Jake's POV

This was complete and utter bullshit. Ella was dumping me.
After the years we spent together so was leaving me. And for what?! Some other stupid guy! Not even a valid reason!
I couldn’t more upset and angry with her and myself! How did I not see it?! I suppose I wouldn’t know. I’m always on tour. She was always somewhere else. How it worked? I don’t know. It did.
At least I was going to be on tour for the Summer. Warped Tour was days away and that was always refreshing. Meeting new people, listening to different music. I think I needed it.

“Jake, you need a fresh start. You were with Ella for so long, it’s not in our nature to be tied down like that” Jinxx said trying to comfort me, but it wasn’t really working.
“I don’t think you can say that since you’re married, CC’s married, Ashley is married and Andy is engaged. Yeah, none of us are ‘tied down’” I said sarcastically.
“Okay, so bad thing to say. But come on, Warped will be fun. Juliet and Riley will be there as well, it won’t be that bad.”
“I’m not saying it will. I just hate the fact that she left me like this, so out of the blue. Yes, we have been touring a lot and have barely been home, but it’s our job! She knew how my life worked!”
“Jake, relax. You shouldn’t be worried about it then. It’s better now than when you’re actually married and it becomes a legal battle.”
“I suppose. Grr, I’m gonna need to find a dog sitter while were gone” I said turning my attention to Trixy asleep on my bed. Ernie was in the other room tearing up a toy I just bought him.
“I thought you had one?” Jinxx asked.
“I do, but they’re out of town when we leave.”
“I’d say Sammi or Kimber, but they have enough to deal with. I can’t believe I’m going to miss the birth of our child!” Jinxx whined.
“At least you’ll have something to come home to” I sighed.
“Come on Jake. Use the Summer to find yourself again. Maybe find someone else?” Jinxx urged.
“I don’t know if I can be with anyone yet. It feels too soon...” I said, the words depressing me.
“Jake... when it’s right, it’s right. Anyways, I gotta start packing for Warped. I think you need to do that same” Jinxx said
“Yeahhhhhh, I need to get shit together.”
“Okay, we’ll I’ll see you soon then. Have fun” Jinxx said sarcastically as he left my apartment.
I shook my head as I looked around at how messy my place was. It was going to be hell going through everything. This place reminded me so much of Ella as it was. What if I found some of her stuff...
Maybe I should just go out and buy lots of new stuff so I won’t have to.
I sighed heavily. “Trixy, what should I do?” I said, speaking in a cutesy tone. “Do you miss mommy? I know I do.”
Trixy just stared at me with tired eyes. “I’m gonna miss you girl” I said then kissed her little forehead.

Nate’s POV

Come on! Where is she? I thought to myself.
I was on a set, ready to do an interview with my other band mates, but of course, she was late. It was normal for Lexa to be late, but this late? She knew this was important for the band!
“I’m sorry Nate, but we need to start. You can do it one man down” Nick Major said.
“Sure, just start” I said bluntly as I tried to put a smile on my face.
“But we need Lexa” Saxon said.
“No we don’t! Start Nick” irritation prominent in my voice.
“Okay... so introduce yourself guys” Nick started.
“Hey, I’m Nate Howie.”
“I’m Parker Johnson.”
“I’m Saxon Rhodes.”
“And we’re from the band Novocaine Hearts” we said in unison.
“So guys, how are you?” Nick asked.
“We’re good. Excited to be here” I said.
“Good to hear. So you guys just released your first album and have an invite to Warped Tour this Summer. How does that feel?”
“It feels amazing! We never thought we would get here. We have been working so hard for years, that it feels like you get nowhere and it happens all at once” I continued.
“So how did ‘Stop The Pain’ come about?” Nick pressed.
I looked nervously over at the guys, but they urged me to answer.
“Umm, well, myself and our other guitarist, Lexa, wrote all the lyrics. Us, as a band share so many life experiences together. We all went to high school together and started a band from there. And something that Lexa would always say was ‘stop the pain’. So we made music.”
“Ohh, so you guys go wayyyy back?” Nick said excitedly.
“Yeah, we met as freshmen and then we met our other guitarist the following year. But we’re all very close” Saxon answered.
“So, just the guys. How is it having a girl in the band?” Nick said with cheekiness.
Us 3 looked at each other and smiled. “Well, can’t say it hasn’t been a challenge. We grew up together, so we know all our issues and in a way we are her brothers and we protect her” Parker said, trying to articulate the right words.
“Interesting. So who’s the trouble maker in the group?” Nick said looking between us.
“Lexa” we said in unison.
Nick looked stunned then he laughed.
“Fair enough. Okay guys, well it was a pleasure talking with you and we will see you on Warped Tour.”
“Thanks for having us” I said shaking hands with Nick. Saxon and Parker did the same.
“Annnddd, we’re clear. Thanks guys” the crew guy called.
I huffed a sigh of relief.
“Great job guys, I’ll see you on tour” Nick said before he left the set.
“I’m here! I’m here!” I heard a girls voice call.
“You’re kidding me right? We were here an hour ago! We did the interview without you” I half yelled at Lexa.
Lexa stumbled over to us and tried to pull her phone out her pocket. “What?! No! You said 1:30. It’s in my phone.”
“You idiot, I said 12:30! Wait, are you on ice?” I said outraged as I inspected her eyes.
“What?! No! I wouldn’t do that!” She whined.
I noticed Saxon roll his eyes, then he went to grab her chin.
“Your pupils are dilated, your skin feels oddly warm and your heart is beating quite fast from what I can tell” Saxon said with disappointment.
“Are you seriously trying to kill yourself?! This is our big break! Don’t fuck it up!” Parker yelled.
“Guys! I didn’t have any ice! I’m clean! I swear! I must have just read it wrong or something...” She trailed, running her hands through her messy hair.
“I expect better from you Lex.”

It's almost the new year, so lets start now.
Been working/thinking about this for a bit. Just want to test it.
