Heart of Fire
[Part One] Boy Crazy...
Jackson looked at over his sunglasses and smiled, "You'll do fantastic, don't worry."
I took a deep breath, nodded and started walking onto stage. This is the most nervous I had ever been, it was the first day of warped tour and I knew no one here. Us being a new band we didn't socialize too much and stuck mostly to work.
The rest of the band was already on stage giving me an intro, at my cue I stepped on and started singing. I immediately felt so much better. The one thing I had confidence in was my voice, I wouldn't know how to live without it. I got more and more comfortable and started running around the stage all of us working together to hopefully make it a more interesting show.
We were in the middle of our last song and I looked to the side of the stage, I knew that the next band would be getting ready. I had never heard of them before so I was curious. I wasn't prepared for what I saw. Jackson stood talking to a man holding a bass guitar, and he looked absolutely perfect. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. His long dark brown hair was styled so much better than I had done mine, and when he looked away from Jackson and at me I felt my heart lurch. His eyes were such a deep brown I could almost get lost in them. He smirked at me, full of arrogance, he knew he was perfect and used it to his advantage.
Luckily I knew the song so well I didn't have to think about it at all to sing it, otherwise I would have stopped singing, and that would have been embarrassing. We finished up the song and got lots of cheers and screams. I thanked everyone and we went backstage. Jackson was waiting for us and hugged us all. "You all did so great! They loved it!" He yelled over the screaming audience.
I grinned at him but all I could think about was the man I had seen, "Hey Jackson?" I asked
"Hmm?"
"I saw that you were talking to man back here. Who was that?" I asked biting my lip hoping I wasn't being too obvious.
He stared a me for a moment then answered, Oh you mean Ashley? He is the bassist from Black Veil Brides. I noticed you were looking at him." He winked and nudged my shoulder.
So much for him not finding out. I blushed what I'm sure was a very dark red, my pale skin and long orange hair only amplified it. I shoved him back and went to go rest for a while, my heart still beating quickly from that encounter.
Hudson, our guitarist ran up behind me and patted my shoulder. "You did great!" He smiled, I had known him for as long as I could remember and his presence was so calming and encouraging.
"Thanks! You did too, you'll be great with the ladies now." I joked and elbowed him.
"Haha. Your so funny, I saw you eyeing Ashley Purdy though so I could say the same to you." He replied his voice light and happy.
"Argh! I'm going to be hearing this for ever!" I said walking in the opposite direction.
"It's not my fault your boy crazy!" He yelled after me. Without turning around I flipped him off over my shoulder, and I heard him laughing.
