Twisted

I Will Be Infinite

CC’s POV

I was so glad that we had a week off of touring and work, I needed time to myself. I had wondered around Indianapolis for a while before I came across my childhood neighborhood. It was a very large estate, each property had at the very least three acres of land. I wondered if my old house was occupied, or if it had been foreclosed on, so I started for the house that was only a block away from Annah’s.

I found myself staring at the paneling of my home, remembering all the times that Annah and I had spent here. I walked over, sitting down under the grand oak tree that stood in the yard. My eyes glanced over that carving that was engraved on the tree. CC+AR Forever I ran my hand over it, pressing my palm into the bark of the tree. A discreet voice brought me out of my thoughts, The Pretenders by The Foo Fighters playing on my phone. I took the device out of my pocket, not bothering to look at the caller id. “Hello?”

“Hey, CC, it’s me.” Thank god, she’s okay! But she doesn’t sound like herself.

“Annah! Are you okay? You sound really bad.”

“I….I’m sorry.” She said, barely audible. I heard a loud bang, after that the line went silent.

“Annah? Annah?!” I panicked. Before I knew it I was sprinting to her old home, hoping her family didn’t move. A sigh of relief escaped my lips when I saw her car parked in the driveway. I grabbed the spare key her family hid under a brick and unlocked the door, going up the stairs two at a time. I barged into her room, seeing her lying on the floor motionless. I knelt down by her side, little hope inside me as I saw the huge red stain on her carpet. I rang up 911, my stomach shrinking to an impossible size. Within minutes I heard the sirens of an ambulance blaring through the streets. I took Annah’s hand in both of mine, kissing it softly. “Please don’t leave me. I was such a fool; you know I wouldn’t ever say those things. I’m so sorry, please. Please hang on for me.” I mumbled, feeling hands push against my chest so the paramedics could reach her. My eyes were ripped from her body as they carried her body out the door and down the stairs. I quickly looked around the room, grabbing her an extra shirt, sweat pants, and socks, and threw them into her bag that she used as a purse. My eyes landed on a piece of folded paper that had my name written on it. I grabbed that as well, running down the stairs, and into the ambulance, sitting next to a paramedic that was radioing the hospital. I placed my elbows on my knees, burying my face into my hands, letting a few silent tears escape from my eyes. “Please,” I murmured into my hands, “this isn’t your time.”

Three Days Later

The bright sun shone into my eyes, blinding me the second my eyes sprung open. I looked up, hoping to find Annah’s beautiful grey eyes open and sparkling like they always were, but I was fooling myself. She was still hooked up to and IV, and oxygen tube, and a bunch of other machines. Her cuts were almost completely healed, apart from the one on her leg and arm. The doctor told me that when she had cut ‘Worthless’ into her leg, she had it a major artery, and cut into her muscle, so it was either to have them stitch it up, the words staying on there forever, or have her be a guinea pig for this laser surgery thing. Did they think I was going to put her in anymore harm? Fuck them. I rested my hand on top of hers, happy that I could feel warmth in her hand. I was glad that there was blood surging through her body, that’s where it belonged.

Sixteen Hours Later

Annah’s POV

Fuuuuuuck. My body felt like shit, literally, I felt as if I was run over by a train, and the train didn’t think I was in enough pain, so it ran me over three more fucking times. My legs hurt the least, except for a burning sensation on my upper right thigh. But my arm, goodness, what the fuck did I do? I remember shit, but that might be a good thing. My eyes felt like they were glued to my face, but needed to get out of this darkness, I wanted to see the light. Slowly but surely I gathered enough strength to open my eyes, but to my disappointment, I saw no shining sun; the only light source was coming from the machines next to my bed. I looked around the room, seeing a curtain close off the entrance to my hospital room. I soon recognized that was the only white part in my room. The walls were plastered in posters of My Chemical Romance, Black Veil Brides, Marilyn Manson, Asking Alexandria, Bring Me the Horizon, and Of Mice&Men. The drawers and windows were covered in drawings and ‘Get Well Soon’ cards from, what I guessed was CC’s friends, maybe a few from Hannah and Becca. Suddenly, I became aware of the pressure that was lying on my right hand, the pressure shifted father up onto my forearm. I studied the figure in the dim lightly, barely able to make out whom it was. Carefully, I pulled my arm from beneath his head, settling is down on my leg as I stroked CC’s hair softly. He turned his head, so his face was facing toward me, sleep still resting in his mind and body. I smiled softly at his angelic face, glad that he had saved me. Like I wrote to him, I wanted to be infinite, but I was going to be infinite with him at my side.
