Ashley didn’t make a huge deal about Jake and I crashing on the couches in his room, but I still found it impossible to fall asleep. Eventually both of them fell silent and I felt like nobody else was awake.

“You awake?” I texted Jinxx.

“I am now.” He replied.

“Sweet. What’s good?” I texted.

“Sleep is good.” He replied.

“Can we hang?” I tried.

“If by hang you mean sleep.” He wrote.

“So…you want us to sleep?” I teased.

“Fuck yeah, bring it.” He retorted.

“Awesome, on my way.” I sat up and looked around for my bag, deciding it would make too much noise and to leave it where it was.

When I got to Jinxx’s room he was wide awake and gaming with a box of wings. “Why didn’t you invite me?” I asked through a mouthful of wing.

“Vegas is more of a you and Ashley thing.” He shrugged it off.

“But we’re the night owls.” I raised a beer in salute to him and sighed with relief. I felt more comfortable here than I had all night. Eventually I found it hard to keep my eyes open.

“Dude, I should go back to my room.” I said after falling asleep momentarily.

“Crash here.” Jinxx waived dismissively, he was still wide awake and gaming.

“Nah, I’m going to my room.” I left the room rubbing my eyes and returned to my original room in a daze. Andy was gone and once my head hit the pillow I was pretty much out of it.

The buzzing of my phone woke me up. Who’s calling me at whatever time it is?

“I need your help.” Andy said, “Meet me in room 725.”

“I’m in bed.” I slurred my words, face mashed into the pillow.

“It’ll only take a minute; we’re all here waiting for you.” He said.

I got out of bed, still on the phone, and took the elevator to his room. “I thought there weren’t any free rooms.” I said groggily when I stepped into Andy’s new hotel room.

“I need you to push this button.” Andy said.

“You woke me up to push a button for you.” I scratched my head.

“I can’t leave the room until you push the button.” Andy sighed, annoyed.

I looked around the room at Ashley, Jake, and where was Jinxx? “Where’s Jinxx?” I wondered aloud.

“Push the button and leave the room.” Andy sighed.

“Ugh. Fine.” I said, pushing the red button on Andy’s wall.

“Thank you.” He opened the door to reveal that the lackluster hallway had somehow morphed into a bright white corridor.

Jake, Andy, Ashley and I walked down the corridor until reaching what should have been an elevator. The door closed behind us and a single red button was all we were left with in the room. Everyone tried to press it, but nothing happened.

“Your turn CC.” Jinxx said from out of nowhere.

“What the hell is going on here?” I asked, looking around for Jinxx.
