Hiding Behind The Light

Ashley tugged a brush through his hair and though about a certain guitarist. You know what, I’m going to do it. He brushes his teeth and opens the door. “Jinxxy! Come here!” Jinxx walks in his pace slow and cautious, as if something would jump out at him. Yeah, he signed.
“Jinxx do you want to go out together after tonight’s show?” Ash runs a hand through his hair and smiles at Jinxx. Jinxx’s face lights up and he nods. Yeah sure I guess, but don’t get yourself sick on account of me, okay? Ashley nods and ruffles Jinxx’s hair. “Okay, now go get yourself some breakfast. You need food to keep your health up.”
Jake was fuming. THE NERVE OF THAT BASTARD!! AND FUCKING HELL JINXX, REALLY??!! DAMN HIM!! I SWEAR IF I WASNT IN LOVE WITH HIM I'D KILL HIM!! Jake sank onto the couch his heart burning in his chest. Jinxx couldn’t hurt him like this. He meant too much to him.
Andy and CC were plotting when the saw Jake break down quietly after they reached their new hotel. CC crept over to him and taped his shoulder. “Uh cake?? Are you okay??” Jake sniffled and wiped his eyes. Andy stood next to, CC smiling. “Jinxx is going out with Ashley tonight.” Andy felt a huge pain tighten in his chest, “really” he squeaked out. Jake just nodded and slumped against the wall.
CC Andy and Jake finally decided that they would at least try to tell the other how they felt. Mainly because Jake didn’t like the idea of taking Jinxx and abandoning him in the northern most regions of Canada. Tonight before they left Andy and CC would try and talk to Ash and Jake would approach Jinxx.
Jinxx sat in his hotel room pondering today’s events. First Jake had kissed him, and then Ashley asked him out. Was this supposed to be a date?? How was he supposed to dress?? Where was Andy?? Jinxx sent him a text, dude, where are you? We gotta leave for the venue soon. Are you still hanging with Cece?
Andy texted back, dude headed to venue already. See you there. Jinxx shrugged and changed into his stage clothes. He stopped by the mirror and glanced at his reflection, he was skinny but his arms were toned. His stomach was flat but not necessarily muscular. Jinxx rubbed his sides and began the process of dressing.
Jake was fretting quietly, what if he didn’t feel the same way?? Jinxx opened his door and stepped out of his room. Oh, hey Jake I didn’t know you were still here. Jakes flushes and smiles, “yeah I thought we could head to the venue together.” Jinxx nodded and they walked down to the rental car waiting for them.
Jake had finally mustered up his courage when Jinxx turned the radio on. He scanned through and found a classical station and they listened to the sweet song of violins singing. He closed his eyes and moved his fingers along with the music. Jake stared in awe, such graceful movements. God he’s so talented. Jake drove the rest of the way to the venue, trying to hide his lap.
Ashley was finishing his hair when Andy and CC cornered him in the dressing room. “Ashley?? Andy and I need to talk to you.” He glanced up honey meeting ice and chocolate, “yeah what do you need??”
CC sighs and grips Andy’s hand tightly, “well we need you to know, t-that w-we…” he was interrupted by john slamming the door open. “Guys you need to be ready for sound check in twenty minutes.” He left and Ashley turned back to the guys. “You were saying??”
CC blushed, “n-never mind Jinxx should be here soon.” He turns walking away, fighting back tears. “Andy come on.” Andy followed after CC, like a little puppy. His slid his hand into CC’s and hugged him. Ashley watched them walk away, a feeling of guilt settling over him.
Jake got out slamming the door, running into the venue as if he had been burned by sitting in the car. Jinxx stared after him and then turned his thoughts to their bassist. I’m Not a Vampire started blaring from his phone and he fumbled to get it out of his pocket, he’s yours. Jinxx stared at the message from CC bewildered, he’s lost it. He has finally lost it. He ran inside to Ashley.
Andy cradled CC, in his arms not wanting to let go of the little drummer boy. “CC??” CC looked up at the sound of his name, his dark chocolate eyes meeting the sky blue. “Y-yeah Andy?” Andy leaned down and kissed him pulling him closer to himself, “I love you okay??” CC pulled away from him, “I’m sorry Andy.”
A burning feeling spread throughout his chest, am I jealous?? I’ve never felt like this before. Andy sighed, “Its okay. Just know that if you ever want to talk I’m here for you.” CC hugged him and just sobbed into his batman tee. Andy pet his hair until it was time for sound check, doing what he could to comfort him.
Jake was stuck in the bathroom, his problem still very prominent in his skin tight jeans. “God damn it!!” he slammed his palms into the wall and rested his head against it. Someone behind him cleared their throat. “Excuse me, are you okay??”
Jake jumped at the sound and he turned his head. Behind him stood a short blonde with the brightest blue eyes he had ever seen. “Are you alright??” he asked again. Jake shook his head, “no not really.” The boy cocked his head, and moved to the side of Jake, “what’s wr-oh I see now.” He flushed a soft red and nodded. “Try reciting pi. That usually works for me.” He turned raised his hand in a goodbye and disappeared through the door.
Jake stared after him and began trying to remember what pi was, “3.1415-9-eh-2, what the fuck I give up.” He sighed and laughed, damn that kid’s trick worked. He opened the door and went to find the dressing room. He walked in and felt his heart shatter.
