My Fallen Angel

The Interview

I watched Andy as he moved across the stage, singing to his fans with his deep voice. They all screamed his name, completely enraptured with his performance.
I sighed.
I wrapped my arms around myself, cold as I waited for them to finish their show.
I glanced behind me, seeing all the people who worked the stage were relaxed in this venue, where normally they were scrambling around like crazy trying to make sure everything went smoothly.
I watched as a mortal in a blue hoody walked through, a man with fake rabbit ears following him laughing as they headed towards the stairs where the extra rooms were.
They must have sensed me watching them, for they glanced over, and the one in blue stumbled as his eyes met mine, widening.
I looked away quickly, turning back to watch the stage.
Why was it so cold in this part of the world?
I was wearing one of Ashleys large sweaters, the sleeves falling over my hands and the hem almost to my thighs over my dark jeans and boots that rose almost to my knee. The shoulder kept falling off too, and it was kind of annoying.
I was just glad all of my injuries were faint now, but considering how many times I'd been with Ashlandil in the past couple weeks I wasn't surprised.
And it was always so sating.
I blushed at the memory of his tongue between my thighs, and quickly shook it from my mind before I jerked him off stage in the middle of his performance to calm my needs.
I brushed my hair out of my face.
I watched as his fingers strummed expertly across his instrument, his gaze almost absent.
Things had been so strange with him lately.
i couldn't quite describe things between us other then they were... Comfortable? I suppose.
We weren't tense when one of us saw the other, and I hadn't screamed I hate you at him in almost two weeks, which had to be a record.
And I didn't think I hated him anymore.
Not until he upset me again at least.
I looked over as Andy bowed theatrically to his mortal followers.
He was still avoiding me and I had no idea why; Ashley just shrugged when I asked.
What had I done to him while stricken with demon blood? I hadn't mentioned it, but I had noticed the wounds on his wrists where it looked like claw and bite marks, and his hands had been tender for a long time, as if burned.
Had I BIT him or something? What had I done that he literally attempted to leave any room I entered?
He wouldn't even look at me.
Ashlandil had wiped his memory of the night, I knew that, but in some subconscious part of his mind the memories were still present and they caused him to be frightened of me, which hurt more then I cared to admit.
I loved him, I didn't want him to be frightened of me, or shy away from me.
It made me want to cry.
I took a step back from the stage, then traveled towards their dressing room, not wanting to watch anymore.
"Um, excuse me!"
I glanced over as I made it to the doorway, and turned, seeing it was the human in blue and his eared friend again.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Uh, do you work here or something? Or are you with the band?" the eared one asked, unable to stop looking at me.
"Um." What was I again? They had given me a official title to give a real reason for me traveling with them, but I couldn't remember what it had been.
So. "I'm with the band."
"Really? I've never seen you before," the blue one commented, and I glanced at his hands, seeing a microphone and s camera.
"Oh, it's not on yet, if you're wondering. I'm here to interview the band when they get done. I'm Bryan."
"And I'm Kris!" the other one said quickly.
"Kenna."
"Nice to meet you, Kenna!" they beamed at me.
They were only so caught up with me because of my appearance, the sheen to my skin as I was healthy again. It drew in all of the weaker mortals like flies, making it easy for me to use them however I wanted; if I was that kind of fallen, I could have probably started an army.
The world should be thankful I wasn't.
I glanced over as I heard the music end.
"The guys will be done at any moment, so it won't be long you have to wait."
"I don't mind waiting," Bryan shrugged. "Do you mind keeping us company?"
"Um ---."
"You don't have too," the other mortal Kris said quickly. "But we don't meet nice people in these places often. Usually they try to kick us out before they realize who we are."
"Oh, okay." Were they important?
I was confused.
I looked over as the band stepped off the stage and started forward towards where we stood, Ashleys eyes finding me immediately.
I sent him a tired smile.
He was shirtless again (I still wasn't sure where they kept disappearing too), and his eyes flicked warily to where the mortals stood near me.
"Hey guys," Andy greeted them as he neared with a grin. "Long time no see!"
"Yeah, I know, man, it's been a while." Bryan agreed, his eyes momentarily leaving mine.
Ashley stepped to my side, and I tilted my face to his automatically as he leaned down to give me a quick kiss; I wasn't sure how that habit had started, but it was like he had to stake a visible claim or something.
That seemed to be a denominator all males had in common, whether they be angel, demon, or human.
His arm slipped around my shoulder.
"So you guys ready for the interview?" Bryan asked, pretending he hadn't seen our interaction.
"Sure, we'll meet you upstairs," CC told him.
Bryan nodded, and he and his friend left.
A few minutes later, after the guys had cooled off, all but Ashley headed upstairs.
"You aren't coming?" Jake asked as he hovered at the door.
"Yeah, I'll just be a few minutes," Ashley told him, and I raised a brow where I leaned against his dressing table.
Jake shrugged, closing the door behind him as he left.
"Do you not like the interviewers?" I asked, rubbing my neck as it ached.
"Bryans cool, he does a lot of interviews. He just has some off the wall questions, keeps it fun. Are you good?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," I nodded quickly. "I'm just tired."
"You've gone too long without feeding again," he told me, straight-faced like I hadn't been with him hours earlier.
I chuckled. "You would say that."
Ashley grinned, a white shirt hanging off his shoulders as he stepped to my side, his hands slipping beneath his sweater to rest on the bareskin of my waist.
He leaned down to kiss me, and I rose on my tip toes to make it easier, wrapping my arms around his neck.
His tongue lazily traced my lower lip.
I pulled him closer to me, my waist pressing against the counter behind me. Ashley grunted, then lifted me onto the table, stepping between my thighs.
"Don't you have an interview?" I breathed, his lips on my throat.
"It can wait."
I pressed my smile into his shoulder, and his hands froze on my ribs as someone knocked on the door. He raised his head in annoyance, brows drawing down.
"What?"
"Bryan wants you upstairs, and Kenna if she wants to go," CCs voice called. "So you guys better not be naked."
I chuckled as Ashley let his hands drop from under my shirt, irked.
"You wanna come? He has the hots for you, I think. He normally never asks for anyone."
I raised a brow.
"Jealous?" I teased him as I hopped off the counter.
He sent me a look as he stepped from the dressing room.
"Why would I be jealous?" he muttered as we followed an exasperated CC upstairs.
I chuckled, and Ashley finished buttoning his shirt as we reached the second floor, the rest of the guys already giving each other a hard time.
Andy was laughing, and my eyes flicked to him, mesmerized by the sound.
Ashleys hand caught mine, dragging me with him over to the table where the guys all stood, as if he knew what the sound did to me..
I hesitated, seeing the camera had a flashing red light now.
I held tightly onto Ashleys hand as I stepped halfway behind him, not really wanting to be in the limelight.
"Ashley! What took you so long?" Bryan asked as he finally finished a question.
"I had to finish up some things," Ashley answered vaguely, and the guys snickered.
"Kenna --- can you step forward a little?"
I did so reluctantly.
"So, what do you do for the band?" Bryan asked, aiming the microphone towards me.
Um.
If I told him I protected them from the angels that had fallen from heaven thousands of years ago and were turning into demons bent on revenge, he might look at me funny.
"Are you like the bands cheerleader or something?" Kris the eared one asked as he held the camera. "I could see you as a cheerleader."
"No way," CC shook his head. "She's more like our mother, I think."
"Your mother?" Bryan looked surprised.
"Yeah!" CC nodded. "She takes care of us. Last week she punched me because I left all of my clothes in the aisle, so she makes sure we clean. I still have the bruise!" he showed them the dark splotch, and I rolled my eyes.
I'd tripped over the mess, that was the only reason. And he'd been snarky about it.
"I don't know if I would say mother," Ashley frowned; of course he wouldn't like the term.
"Well, yeah, you would disagree." CC rolled his eyes.
"Why would he?"
"Kennas my girlfriend," Ashley suddenly said, point blank.
Everyone, including me, looked at him in surprise.
"Your girlfriend? Officially?" Bryan looked stunned. "You?"
"Yep." Ashley nodded, raising our clasped hands. "This is my woman. Definitely not a mother figure."
I sighed.
Andy frowned at us, and his eyes met mine a moment before he hastily looked away, as if he couldn't stand my gaze.
Why couldn't he stand me?
That hurt.
I looked down, my red curls falling around my shoulders.
"Well, Ashley, you're a lucky guy," Bryan told him. "I was gonna ask her to marry me fifteen minutes ago."
Sadly, he probably wasn't kidding.
"You wouldn't keep her," Ashley told him firmly. "She can be a real --- sweet, loving woman," he said, his voice suddenly higher as I pinched his butt. "Just wonderful."
I smiled, and the other guys laughed.
"So Kenna! Everyone is gonna want to know --- where are you from? How did you guys meet?"
"We're old friends," I said after a moment. "We have the same home. We've known each other forever."
Ashleys lips twitched.
These humans had no idea.
"When did you decide to actually start dating?" Kris asked, and I could hear the disappointment in his voice.
"Uh. It's been a while back. Kenna was touring with us but had to take a break to visit some friends in the city, and I realized I missed her. So when she came back," Ashkey shrugged. "I let her know how I felt."
Well, that was one way to describe those disastrous few weeks.
I glanced up at him curiously. Had he really missed me?
"We all were so glad, too," CC snorted, directing everyone;s attention to him. "Ash was a whinny little bitch the entire time she was gone."
Ashley glared.
I chuckled, leaning my head against his shoulder. He let his hand rest on my waist, fingers strumming an impatient best as the interview dragged on, Bryan asking everyone else about their love interests, CC now apparently the only one without someone.
I stiffened as they brought up Juliet, Andys face lighting up at the mere mention of her name.

I still think I should have dropped a building on her.
