My Fallen Angel

Raza

I tromped up the staircase to Thedas apartment, actually able to make it to the floor without being out of breath; ususlly I was crawling on my hands and knees by the time we reached the third floor.
I rapped lightly on the door then entered, glancing around at the empty space.
"Theda? Raza?" I called, stepping inside. "Cronus?"
The apartment seemed to be empty. I hesitated, and started towards the bathroom as I heard a noise. I knocked lightly, and the door opened at my touch.
"Raza?" I burst in alarm, seeing him sitting in the middle of the bathroom floor, gazing straight ahead in a daze. He wasn't wearing anything but boxers, and now I could see all the random piercings in his skin.
"Raza?" I demanded, kneeling beside him slowly. His eyes roved to mine after a moment, hollow looking.
"Are you okay?" I raised my hand to his shoulder hesitantly.
"Fine." he said listlessly, looking down at his arms where they rested on his legs.
"Where are Theda and Cronus?"
"Out."
I pressed my lips together.
"What's wrong, Raza?" I glanced down as I smelled blood, and grabbed his wrist; he was slicing his arms open with his nail. "Stop it! What are you doing? What's wrong with you?"
"I'm hungry," he muttered, wrist limp in my grasp. "I need food. They were supposed to be back hours ago with something."
Oh. It clicked in my brain. To keep going, Raza had to kill a mortal every couple days, sometimes more. Theda and Cronus must be out getting him one.
Oh.
"I just wanted to tell Theda I'm leaving," I said after a moment, releasing his wrist. "I'm going back with the others. I wanted to thank you guys for keeping me up."
"Ok." his unnerving gaze met mine. "She'll miss you. You're her only friend from up there who still appreciates her like I do."
"She's all I have too," I murmured, and got to my feet. "Goodbye, Raza."
"Mm. Help me up?" he raised his hand, and I took it, lifting him to his feet.
He glanced over me. "Someone finally sinned, I see. You look fresh."
I flushed. Raza looked at himself in the wall mirror. "I'm so hungry," he complained, clenching his fists. "I want to eat."
"Theda and Cronus will be back soon," I assured him, taking a step back. "They'll bring you something."
"I need to sin," he muttered, cutting his eyes at me. "Do you need to sin again?"
"I'm good," I said quickly, taking another step back. He stared at his reflection again, and then growled, suddenly slamming his fist into the mirror and shattering it.
I gasped, watching as glass covered everything, his hand cut and black blood dripping everywhere. He frowned at me, turning to face me, his black eyes ravenous as they lingered on my throat.
"Angel blood is so different from a mortals, isn't it?" he said, his tone bored. "It always tastes so amazing, is so filling. Some mortals just don't have that, yknow? You smell good."
My next step back brought me up against the wall. I needed to get out of here.
"Tell Theda bye for me," I mumbled as I started for the door
It slammed in my face.
I jumped, eyes widening as I looked up at Raza, his hand pressed so hard against the white door it left an indentation.
"Sinning with an angel is so much more filling," he murmured, leaning closer to me. "But you know that, don't you, Kenali? How else would you leave half-dead and come back looking like fucking Christmas?"
I pressed back against the counter, reaching for anything behind me I could use for a weapon.
"Don't bother," he scoffed at me, the mirror pieces behind me reflecting my actions. "You couldn't hurt a fly."
He suddenly smirked. "You're easy pickings."
I glared at him. "What is wrong with you, Raza? Get ahold of yourself! Let me out!"
"No." he eyed me thoughtfully. "I'm hungry, and your sin will sate me until I find a mortal."
"What are you talking about?" I frowned at him.
"Your sin," he repeated, stepping close to me until he was a mere breaths distance. "Pleasure of the flesh. It's obvious. You can hardly control yourself, and you flinch away from others when they touch you. The humans are easy for you, aren't they? Even Andiel was enchanted the instant his skin brushed yours."
He lifted a strand of hair between his fingers.
"You smell so good," he inhaled deeply, closing his eyes. "Like flowers. It reminds me of the old fields."
The ones from home.
I glanced around him anxiously, praying Theda would come back. Raza was out of control right now, and I didn't want to hurt him, but I would do whatever it took to protect myself.
His fingers suddenly clamped painfully on my chin, and hd squeezed my cheeks as he turned my face up.
"You really do look so much better," he commented. "It's like you're a different person."
"Let go!" I hissed, smacking his hand away.
He twitched, and I screamed as a shard of glass went through my hand, pinning it to the counter behind me
